Woolly hugs

Support thread 2 - new blankets

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome and I'm hoping to post a link soon to a collection of our fave patterns, pics and links to keep them all in one place. In the meantime, this new thread will allow phone-based MNers like RedRosie to return from Special Phone Exile where she goes whenever the thread has too many messages on.

This is a thread of peace where knitters and crocheters, donors and crafters are all equally welcome.

Lovely even tension bobkate!

We're back on Sat, so not long. Smile Yes the putting back part was rather hideous - he screamed and screamed and screamed - it was over quite quickly really, but I won't forget the noise in a while. Still, tis done, he'll be fine, and maybe, just maybe he'll actually listen to me next time I say 'DS, get down from there NOW before you hurt yourself'? but probably not.

Blush thanks Minnie, I've loved doing it I have to say and think I'm a bit addicted already.
I reckon your DS will remember the lesson for all of about a day or so!!!
Righto - I now have 3 full balls and 2 half balls of wool and they're just mooching about in a plastic bag. There must be something nicer I can keep them in..any suggestions?

I actually am in Dublin (just ask Pistey :) )
But don't put me beside Shane from Westlife, he's bankrupt now! Marion seem nice, she makes cakes these days- anybody with cake is a friend of mine :o I'll go in the Mansion House please and thank you :o

Bobkate, have you seen attic24's crochet bag? It's one of my wips. Also Cath Kidston does a nice knitting bag, but I think it's nicer to make your own?

My wool is in one of those johnsons baby boxes, but the wonderful Trib will link you to the "next step for beginner knitters" windmill bag. I would but I'm on my phone and its not playing ball!

Ship square finished. Will upload photo tomorrow.

Thanks Formerly, not sure what or who attic24 is and also what's a wips? Sorry if I'm being really dense.. Only problem about making my own, which is probably nicer, but it would more than likely take me ages Grin. Off to google cath kidston's bag.

wips are works in progress, and I have several :o
Attic24 is a fairly famous crochet blog. Famed for her ripple blanket and lovely colours, find her here and see you in a week or so :)

I think with your 4.5 mms and some chunky yarn, bobkate, you'd be windmilling in no time.

Formerly, you have now moved into the Mansion House.

Grin - thanks....wow - that is gorgeous and looks like it'd take sooooooo long. Beautiful though. Means I would have to learn to crochet as well Confused !!

There's no crocheting, bobkate. Some i-cording but that's a kind of knitting.

Sorry trib I have to learn to do better with my name referencing...The gorgeous and takes so long comment was referring to the attic24 bag, the tooooo tricky was about the windmill bag. Both look a but advanced to me Grin

Love love love attic 24. I have the ripple blanket in metaphorical queue!

Trib, even more confusing is with regard to elections etc we come under ChapelA Confused

Oooh, if putting you on the map transports you there, can I narrow it down to the cheese aisle Trib...the one with the wine display on the end Grin

Well done bobkate, very neat indeed :)

My yarn lives in several linen storage boxes and an IKEA futon stool, and the drawers next to my chair and several jute/cotton/linen bags and three brown paper sacks and a wheeled storage stool and a blue sheepy patterned proper knitting bag from my LYS and..., but cotton carrier bags, and supermarket Jute bags make great project bags.

I bought one of those four square shelves joined together units from ikea (Expedit?) for my craft stuff. And I have a cath kidston book bag and knitting bag. They work well for me. I now have a dedicated mumsnet square bag-with 4mm needle and my stitch library book in even when there's no yarn!

Brew morning.

I've had a rethink on my square, it was very yarn intensive and I want to get maximum mileage out of it!

Would they still respect you?! Grin

I googled once (mainly for the Glaikit bit, I know what a physog is Wink) and can honestly state that it had no effect whatsoever on the amount of respect i had for our Glaikit Hmm
