Support thread 2 - new blankets

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome and I'm hoping to post a link soon to a collection of our fave patterns, pics and links to keep them all in one place. In the meantime, this new thread will allow phone-based MNers like RedRosie to return from Special Phone Exile where she goes whenever the thread has too many messages on.

This is a thread of peace where knitters and crocheters, donors and crafters are all equally welcome.

Sorry to hear you've been poorly Pistey Sad. Just to say, my parcel was posted saturday (after last post went). But I got a bit carried away drawing on the envelope so may have forgotten to say who it was from Blush.

MinnieBar · 06/06/2012 17:51

Fingers -won't mention toes-- crossed that you heal super-fast Trib. Maybe treat yourself with a giant bar of chocolate??

Molehillmountain · 06/06/2012 17:51

Owwwww! Poor trib Sad here's a Bear to cuddle.

tribpot · 06/06/2012 17:59

Thanks - it certainly will hurt tomorrow but I am boycotting Leeds' NHS services after today's little funfest. Grrrr.

Pitsey!

Trib (poor Trib) sorted out all my tech problems as well as all my knitting problems.

She's ace.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 06/06/2012 18:21

Sympathies Trib

KnottyLocks · 06/06/2012 18:57

Oh Blimey, Trib. You poor thing. Can I offer you a jelly bean? Smile

RedRosie · 06/06/2012 19:21

Do get it looked at Trib.

We need you to be well.

I'm thinking - now you have sorted out my knitting and my tech problems - of getting you to sort out my ENTIRE LIFE :o

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/06/2012 19:46

Mole - I'm looking forward to seeing this envelope now Smile

tribpot · 06/06/2012 19:51

Rosie - I can help as long it involves having only one working foot. I am de-friending the NHS in Leeds (not to mention writing to them to ask if it was actually safe to essentially lock a guy in a wheelchair inside a hospital building).

Molehillmountain · 06/06/2012 22:00

Pistey-it would have been more decorated only I thought soon into the process that you might want to recycle the envelopes and stopped Blush

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 07:53

Morning all.

How's the foot Trib?

tribpot · 07/06/2012 08:15

Morning, Rosie! The swelling has gone down overnight but it's still quite painful. My legs are hurting as well - I'm not sure all that walking on it was really a good idea yesterday :(

OP posts:
RedRosie · 07/06/2012 08:38

You should get it checked out Trib. Really. Can you wiggle your toes? Even if you can, I think its possible to fracture a metatarsal bone and still wiggle ...

tribpot · 07/06/2012 09:04

Yup, full wiggling is possible. I could go to Minor Injuries in Otley and thus circumvent my own ban on NHS services in Leeds, but I cannot drag ds round another hospital today.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/06/2012 10:09

trib - you around?!

Doing some work on the website today and looking to link your guide, there are just a coupla questions I have, one is about security for you. I shall PM you too. Brew

Morning all btw Smile

tribpot · 07/06/2012 10:14

Pistey, yes, I'm around, will PM you my email address and we can chat online if need be.

Am shirking working from home today and think I probably will go to Minor Injuries later, although suspect they will either tell me to sod off or try and make me go to Leeds.

OP posts:
RedRosie · 07/06/2012 10:40

Get an x-ray Trib. Or at least go to minor injuries ...

You know it makes sense.

And we care :o

MinnieBar · 07/06/2012 12:56

GO TO MINOR INJURIES!!!!!

Ahem. As you were?

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 13:04

If you don't go Trib ...

... I'll write a poem. An ode to your foot.

That should be all the incentive you need :o :o

tribpot · 07/06/2012 13:23

You realise you won't actually know whether I go or not?!

I've taken care of the important business of the day, posting the squares. I now have a call to do about a vair important document but I might consider it after that.

OP posts:
MinnieBar · 07/06/2012 13:26

Well, when you start a topic about 'I hurt my foot a few days ago and I didn't go and get it looked at and now I can't walk', even if you NC we will all know it's you and come and make you feel really guilty.

So there.

Look at it this way - if you don't get it checked out, it's probably going to hurt more. If it hurts more, you won't be able to MN knit. So, worth having it looked at, no?

tribpot · 07/06/2012 13:29

Actually if you think about it - foot injury = weeks off work = ample time for MNing and knitting.

However, as my legs are hurting quite a lot, and I'm worried I'm making things worse by walking on it, AND I don't want Rosie to write a poem AND I don't want to be troll-hunted round the boards I suppose I had better agree to go.

OP posts:
MinnieBar · 07/06/2012 13:48

Blanketeers, our work here is done.

We're still keeping an eye, mind.

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 14:31

I'm a bit hurt actually.

Is my poetry that bad?

:o

Don't all shout "yes" at once.

Get it seen Trib. Or the crafters of Mumsnet will hunt you down, strap you to a chair and make you listen to my Ode-To-Tribs-Foot-One-Midsummer-Morning.

There's 26 verses written so far ...
