Support thread 2 - new blankets

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome and I'm hoping to post a link soon to a collection of our fave patterns, pics and links to keep them all in one place. In the meantime, this new thread will allow phone-based MNers like RedRosie to return from Special Phone Exile where she goes whenever the thread has too many messages on.

This is a thread of peace where knitters and crocheters, donors and crafters are all equally welcome.

Pidj I knew I always liked you!

Prettybird I usually point them towards the Confused smiley which I think explains it rather well

PurplePidjin · 15/06/2012 10:31

Erm... Hmm

rubycon · 15/06/2012 10:41

am I on the right thread for saying that my wool has arrived?

Just got to find the box with my needles in now .... :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/06/2012 13:46

Lunchtime! Such good news Ruby, fire up your needles! Thanks

and I know what Glaikit means!

Jules146 · 15/06/2012 14:19

Trib can I be on your map too?!! Although I am a Southern softie I am afraid!! From West Sussex! (And no I don't know what Glaikit means )
Just finished my first ever knitted letter! Hoping the sizing is ok!! Got to attempt the next one now Confused

prettybird · 15/06/2012 14:39

As Glaikit says, Confused is as good a definition as any! Grin

tribpot · 15/06/2012 16:29

Jules - I will put you on in the 'lower quadrant' with many of the other blanketeers :)

Back in the UK with major jetlag but cheered to find my wool waiting for me. Tonight is then , tomorrow is

Incidently, does anyone else find buying online tends to work out more expensive due to the temptation to bung a couple of extra balls in "to justify the postage"? Just me then... Grin

Glad to see you're all well and mad as ever. Trib, you planning on starting a new thread soon? This one's nearly done already! And Rosie stayed through for the duration. Yay! Smile

BarbaraWoodlouse · 15/06/2012 20:38

Bollocks, jetlag appears to have killed my ability to strikeout Grin

tribpot · 15/06/2012 20:43

No, Barbara, tis very easy to get carried away online because of the postage charges. And strikeout is an arse to do at the best of times, it needs a space either side of the hyphens.

I have been contemplating a new thread, although Rosie has been doing so well with this one!

Wool is here, so starting tonight :)

I don't know what Glaikit means :( Is it cuz I is forrin?

tribpot · 15/06/2012 20:47

Dumbass (that's what the word means, I'm not calling you dumbass, Formerly).

RedRosie · 15/06/2012 20:59

Hello!

:)

Is the thread limit 1,000? Must be nearly there ...

Trib solved my tech problem I wish she could solve all my problems

So I am indeed still here ...

Glaikit · 15/06/2012 21:02

I prefer daft actually! Wink

Glaikit · 15/06/2012 21:07

Are you classed as forrin Formerly? As a Celt we are one and the same against the soffit southerners

Unless you only live in Dublin but are actually from mars. Then you'd be proper forrin!!

droitwichmummy · 15/06/2012 21:29

My new wool arrived today so I can start Grin. Just need to decide what to do! I think there was a request for snowdrops for this one? Might be an idea - saw some lovely ideas on Ravelry.

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 15/06/2012 21:36

I am (half) forrin here so properly forrin to those Sasanachs :o
It's the Sicily in me :) though I will stand as a Celt any day.
I googled glaikit and a synonym is eejit, do you use that in Scotland too? Is it ee-jit or ee-git? Subject of debate depending on where in Ireland you're from.

Get us, woolly hugs are soooooooooo international :o

Glaikit · 15/06/2012 22:09

Ooh sicily! Are you in the mafia?? adds formerly to list of miners not to piss off

J as in jeff here!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2012 22:23

where I'm fae (the Royal Burgh of Fife) glaikit and eejit have slightly different meanings. Eejit is just stupid or having done something daft, but glaikit is someone who looks as daft as their actions or just looks daft whether they ate or not.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2012 22:27

*are or not

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 15/06/2012 22:38

Clear as mud :o Daisy
I am not in the mafia even if I was could I/ would I tell you?! but I wish I had the volume in my hair like Mrs Soprano :o

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/06/2012 23:24

Lots more woolly arrivals - fabulous!!

OpheliaBumps · 16/06/2012 07:52

Trib's can I go on the map too please? I'm in Chester, and very lovely it is too, though very short on wool shops Sad

OpheliaBumps · 16/06/2012 07:53

Damn you autocorrect, should have been Tribs with no apostrophe!
