Support thread 2 - new blankets

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome and I'm hoping to post a link soon to a collection of our fave patterns, pics and links to keep them all in one place. In the meantime, this new thread will allow phone-based MNers like RedRosie to return from Special Phone Exile where she goes whenever the thread has too many messages on.

This is a thread of peace where knitters and crocheters, donors and crafters are all equally welcome.

Thanks guys. I am learning new things every day. Oh yes.

Wiggleability! Love it.

Morning Pitsey! I'm still here somehow ...

tribpot · 02/06/2012 09:33

Right - enfin la brioche.

Dave side uppermost

Camel side uppermost

Here you can see them both.

I'm now really confused. I though Dave was Donkey (coloured) therefore gry/brown. Camel is clearly dark beige. Yet in Trib's pics they're both blue.

And apparently Dave is now a mouse?

Confused
HRHBarbaraWoodlouse · 02/06/2012 09:51

I think Dave the Mouse is knitted in Dave the Donkey [helpful]

tribpot · 02/06/2012 09:54

No, Dave is brown, Pidj - the picture's bit washed out but they don't look blue on my screen. I will do a high res image to set minds at rest!

I'm on a blackberry PlayBook, it's probably me!!

HRHBarbaraWoodlouse · 02/06/2012 10:06

The latest ones look bluey to me too. The original ones are clearly Dave & camel though.

tribpot · 02/06/2012 10:13

Right Dave side

Both sides.

Howzat?

Morning! Pistey! The postie just knocked twice! He also told me to enjoy my Wine beautiful Debbie bliss in pale apple green and pale soft pink. I've not used debbie bliss before. Busy weekend for me ahead. I'm going to banish dh and ds to the park for a while so I can stare At the wool for inspiration. I feel it deserves a bit more than garter or stocking stitch.

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 02/06/2012 10:20

Oh Trib your brioche looks good enough to eat. I'm going to go back to the start of the thread to get some ideas.

tribpot · 02/06/2012 10:28

Glaikit - why not take a wander over to my handy squares guide that I've been compiling from the threads so far?

I'll have a think about something a bit less mind-blowing than Dave La Brioche but which uses two gorgeous colours.

Ooh lush brioche (and impressive colour change between pics!)

Have parcelled up and am chivvying the DCs to the post office now. Entrelac hasn't made this round - I keep making small but fatal errors either in the middle/at the beginning so I have to keep frogging. Third time lucky, and hopefully I'll get it in the post for Weds - it can always be a spare Smile

Enjoy the long weekend one and all, royalists and republicans alike!

MinnieBar · 02/06/2012 10:42

I got a name-check in the incredibly helpful and thorough guide!!!

Thanks
RedRosie · 02/06/2012 10:44

Clever Trib.

Me, DH and the DSCs are at the Herts County Show today ... I'm hoping there's a giant rabbit. I've always wanted to meet a giant rabbit Grin

tribpot · 02/06/2012 10:47

You'll be getting another one Minnie for blinkin' brioche at some point. I might change 'lovely' to 'devilish' at that point Wink

Bloody hell, Trib. That info guide is fantabulous! You little legend Smile Thanks

Have a big fat woolly Star

If you're ok with it, we'll add the link to the Woolly Hugs site.

tribpot · 02/06/2012 11:18

Thanks Knotty - I mentioned it as as possibility at the end of the previous blanket project and what I was intending to do was create a draft with all the good stuff I could find on here, and then maybe talk to you and Pistey etc about whether we could take the text and links from it, add in some of the various pics people have got of their squares and make it either a blog page on MN or part of the Woolly Hugs site ultimately.

There's loads more to add because it's rather 'me, me, me' at the mo and lots of other people have been beavering away doing great things, but I thought it was a reasonable starter for 10.

My only concern about a link is to ask whether you can see my Google Id in the top right hand corner of the doc. Obviously I can but I'm not sure if that's generally available, I don't think it is. (Also technically I think quite a lot of the text might be coprighted to MN by having been posted here first, is Justine going to sue us I wonder? She might do Wink)

Can't see your user name - so all safe there.

I can easily run it all by MNHQ before we go ahead and link it. No problem.

tribpot · 02/06/2012 11:26

Cool beans. Well, I'll carry on adding to it for now so please feel free to create a 'work in progress' link to it.

OP posts:
MinnieBar · 02/06/2012 12:05

Maybe add Blacksheep Wools to the list of suppliers as they've so kindly donated some yarn free?

tribpot · 02/06/2012 12:10

Yup - was going to add them in and thank Debbie Bliss as well.

Arse :(Angry

Not only did I miss the last posting time Blush because the bastards at the Post Office have brought forward the last posting time at our local post office but I tripped on the way there and have managed to scrape my knees, my elbows, my hands and my face :(:(

Still, I've put the parcel in 1st class post, and he said it would be picked up on Tuesday, so it should be there on Wednesday.

tribpot · 02/06/2012 12:29

Oh dear bird! What a nightmare, that sounds like a bad fall. Are you feeling okay?

OP posts:
prettybird · 02/06/2012 12:38

Feeling a bit wobbly but I'll be OK. Need to clean my knees as they are a bit bloody :(

I couldn't break my fall as I had my precious parcel under my arm!

MinnieBar · 02/06/2012 12:44

Oh no prettybird - have a heavily-sugared Brew
