Support thread 2 - new blankets

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome and I'm hoping to post a link soon to a collection of our fave patterns, pics and links to keep them all in one place. In the meantime, this new thread will allow phone-based MNers like RedRosie to return from Special Phone Exile where she goes whenever the thread has too many messages on.

This is a thread of peace where knitters and crocheters, donors and crafters are all equally welcome.

Two-colour entrelac?

It was indeed a bit of a faff - hence why I learnt to "drop" the stitch at the back and then pick it up again after I had knitted the second stitch - but that technique didn't seem to work for the "front" cable, which is why I continued to use the cable needle.

The Four Non-Squares will be going in the post tomorrow. Delighted to see one of bird's squares, while delightful, is almost as non-square as one of mine. :D

I have already asked forgiveness been told that pidj can deal with them - and will straighten the feather and fan edges with some basic fancy crotcheting. :)

Wobbles are not the worst thing that can happen. Squares weigh about 15g each, and there's 100 or so on each blanket. The kinks iron themselves out tbh!

Basil The Blue Sheep? Done.

(Replacement for failed double moss stitch) Stocking stitch with garter border square? Done.

Ends sewn in? Done.

Phew what a day. Work, meeting with our architect and builder, more work, pick up DD, fail to take the cat to the vets as the little so-and-so went AWOL again, phone consult with the vet (cheaper ), bathe DCs, teleconference 8pm-9pm, dinner, bake chocolate cake for tomorrow's school jubilee party, finally get to knit... Phew!

This square will therefore be the last. Across the two blankets my contribution therefore stands at: snuggly, speckle rib in a deep purple, dragonfly in pink, bee stitch and diagonal rib both in a duck egg blue. Plain but essential

Reckon I'll be sprinting to the post office Sat AM!

2 and a half squares done tonight.. I'm on a rol but my eyes are crossing I'm so tired. Non work day tomorrow so hopefully will get more done, ds depending. We have more teeth cutting and he is really out of sorts.

Teething is a pain. DD is 5 and has just lost two of her baby teeth. I just kept saying to DH, it took so much effort for me her to grow those, now they're just going to drop out!

Morning all - I'm having melon this morning rather than brioche with my - that better for you knots.

I still haven't knitted since Tuesday, however this evening is the 4 hours sitting at the dance school eve, so I shall make amends tonight.

Yes, I should do too, Knotts - I will have a bacon and egg sarnie waiting for me when I get to work this morning. Ahhh the joys of pre-ordering at the local café.

Everything is on a roll here. Sausage on a roll, bacon on a roll, haggis on a roll, pie on a roll, roll on a roll!

We had a perfect night. 8-8 but he is frumpy already this morning. I'll just keep throwing bit of banana at him as that seems to cheer him up. then I think we are off to the ceramic place to make a mug for fathers day.

Seriously though I would have one of those isotonic drinks in the morning first thing leave it an hour and then I could eat. Might be worth a try. I had the orange lucozade sport.

I've finished my squares - I've done 4, two in each colourway so each blanket gets both colourways. If someone can remind me who I am posting them to, I will get them in the post once tesco have delivered next week's food.

i'll be doing another square as soon as i've put dd down - she's asleep in my arms and is so cute, I can't bear to put her down (the only time i can hold her when she's not pulling my hair/ear/earring or wanting foooood!)
