We have just heard the tragic and devastating news that MrsKwazii's daughter has passed away today in an accident. She was 4

We would like to make a blanket for MrsKwazii's family, to offer them what comfort we can.
If you would like to contribute in any way, please sign up below and PM RatherbeOnThePiste with your offer: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, etc. She'll match you up.

We need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

The wool we are using is:

• Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)

• or Rowan Cashsoft DK.

They are very similar and can be combined.

• 4mm knitting needles or hooks

• cast on 33 stitches (this is a guide for less experienced knitters)

• 6" squares

The Colours:

Blues, warm purples, greens, silver/ greys and pinks.

I put a picture of my square on my profile. I know its only a six inch square, but completing even a little project makes me smile. Square number two (which would sound very odd to the uninitiated) is four inches long. I knit faster than I upload photos or it would be done . Hope there won't be too many joining me in the "just one more row before bedtime" club that usually ends up being a couple of hours!!

Both she and Mr K have been really overwhelmed by the thread and the fact that so many people are involved.

She says that you are all wonderful and thanks you.

Ok so am trying really hard so it is a lovely square and not out of place with you fab ladies however it seems I may have done it a bit too tight, am just starting row four and can get tge hook through as it is so tight I'm gonna have to start again aren't I?

Loves, as long as it measures 6" I can work with it. Loosen your tension just a fraction or you'll get cramp.

I think someone asked how I upload my photos - I use Picasa and the Web Albums link. It's pretty much seamless from iPhone and iPad. The problem with uploading to MN is that you need to be able to see a "file manager" type list and you don't get that on an iPad/phone.

(and I'm not talented, really I'm not :o But it was nice of you to say it :))

Wool arrived this morning - will get going tonight.

My wool arrived this morning, and after having a bit of a clear out yesterday I've found the leftovers from the last blankets I worked on :-)

My lovely pale green wool has just arrived all the way from France. Mille Merci to my donor
