We have heard the very sad news that our own lovely WubblyBubbly passed away very peacefully this week, after two years living with breast cancer. MrWubbly let us know on this thread, where many have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Wubbly.

We have offered to make a blanket for MrWubbly and their son, Lawrie. MrWubbly has said that both he and Lawrie would love this and they are very touched by the idea. We hope that it may bring whatever comfort it can to them both.

So, we need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

RatherBeOnThePiste will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with the admin side. I'll try to answer any queries you may have and will put together the blanket.

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, and she will match you up.
If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

Thank you all so very much Thanks

Hey - Have PM'ed Pistey...

Have enough wool left over from the last blanket to contribute a few squares - just need reminding of the address and the deadline (and I'll do my best to actually send squares in before the deadline this time!)

VeryLittleGravitas · 23/02/2012 00:00

I have 3 squares already(forgot to post them last time)...will order some more wool and look for fishy themed crochet patterns.

I also have an amigurumi Professor Inkling (2 inches tall) that I made last year who needs a loving home.

Have returned all PMs. My box is empty Grin For the time being at least!

What an amazing response, am totally blown away and humbled by it. Thank you to everyone Thanks

I've also been through the original thread and sent PMs to all those who offered help on there too, didn't want anyone to get left behind.

Definitely bedtime. But thank you. Night all.

I've pm'd piste and am volunteering to knit, I haven't been involved before but I'd like to, would it be ok if I got dd to do a square, she's been learning recently and I think she'd like the idea of contributing to a bigger project

Report
Deafworm · 23/02/2012 06:52

Wow piste that was quick work, it hasn't come through yet but I will keep my eyes peeled, thank you

Report
MinnieBar · 23/02/2012 06:55

Thanks for the PM.

Put me down for a square - I might be able to do more, but I'd best see how the first one goes!

My DS is 5 too. I'd give him an extra squeeze right now but he's fast asleep and wouldn't be best pleased. Typing through moist eyes though. Sad
