We have heard the very sad news that our own lovely WubblyBubbly passed away very peacefully this week, after two years living with breast cancer. MrWubbly let us know on this thread, where many have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Wubbly.

We have offered to make a blanket for MrWubbly and their son, Lawrie. MrWubbly has said that both he and Lawrie would love this and they are very touched by the idea. We hope that it may bring whatever comfort it can to them both.

So, we need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

RatherBeOnThePiste will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with the admin side. I'll try to answer any queries you may have and will put together the blanket.

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, and she will match you up.
If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

Thank you all so very much Thanks

Morning all! Glad Gravitas has volunteered, the only orange I've got is neon and give me a headache to work with...

VeryLittleGravitas · 24/02/2012 09:36

My amigurumi wool is acrylic...does that matter?

I have that neon orange wool as well Pidgey, I haven't got a clue why I bought it, or what I'm going to make with it.

I bought to make dp a hat for when he's running in winter

It may have a white stripes round the middle and points on the brim Blush

Very, acrylic will be fine as we'll include the little fella as an extra with the blanket rather than actually attach it. I have a ball of orange casmerino if you'd prefer that.

Knotty I found a Captain Barnacles too Barnacles, I'll volunteer to make him as well, would be great if we can find a Peso & a crafty volunteer too as they're the 3 main characters I think.

Peso is a little penguin, very cute.

Amigurumi's a lot easier than I expected, I hadn't crocheted for many years, then I got back into it last year & attempted an amigurumi nativity - I was surprised how well it turned out. (Although anyone who saw it may scoff at that remark - to clarify - the amigurumi was easy, finding safety eyes small enough for baby Jesus wasn't, so yes, he did look slightly like a scary alien).

My wool arrived this morning from EH via Cucumberpatch :) Thankfully my nice postman left it in my recycling box on the porch rather than returning it to the sorting office.

For Peso, could you do this head and adapt the body from one of the others?
