KnottyLocks, I know you're waiting for a response but have you a list of knitters and wool donors? I'd like to knit some squares too if anyone can send me some wool.

KnottyLocks · 21/02/2012 14:42

Pleiades, will sort that out for you. Thanks.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/02/2012 15:12

Brew Just checking in...

OpheliaBumps · 21/02/2012 15:25

Hi I've just seen this, so sorry for Mr Wubbly and Lawrie.

please put me down for a couple of squares, I'll provide my own wool.

PurplePidjin · 21/02/2012 15:44

I have leftovers, just waiting for Knotty to give the go ahead. I also have two anonymous duck egg squares left over from a previous blanket that must have slipped through on handover Confused

I'll be in The Tattoo Parlour Cafe, Pokesdown near Bournemouth tomorrow at 10am for a knit and natter if anyone fancies a crochet lesson in preparation Thanks

TimeForCake · 21/02/2012 16:01

Hi everyone. Another very sad situation - I'd like to help again. My skills haven't improved at all significantly since the last blanket Blush but I'd like to get out my crochet hook again, find the youtube videos and contribute a square if I can. I know we're waiting for the go ahead so I will watch and await further instructions.

Wish I was near Bournemouth to join knit and knitter!

TimeForCake · 21/02/2012 16:02

Knit and natter, even! Grin

PurplePidjin · 21/02/2012 16:33

Maybe I should organise an MN one somewhere?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/02/2012 20:42

Cakey - your square was gorgeoise, I remember x

TimeForCake · 21/02/2012 21:10

Thanks Ahhh, bless you Pistey. Too generous! Hope your hooks & needles haven't gathered too much dust.

And yes Pidj, maybe you should!

androbbob · 21/02/2012 21:57

Count me in too - I can muster up some wool and my handy hooker I mean hook a square together

androbbob · 21/02/2012 21:58

As long as someone doesnt try to claim my square as her own (she knows who she is Grin) - although her skills may well be better than mine now!!!

PurplePidjin · 21/02/2012 22:07

Right, once we have confirmation I'll do a Great Blanket Meet up thread Grin

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 21/02/2012 22:07

Does anyone else have a link to some other 6" square patterns?

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 21/02/2012 22:08

Purple - sorry, you are too far away for me to come to knit and natter tomorrow - but I'd love to!!

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 21/02/2012 22:09

Does anyone have the link to the MNer who has a wool shop. My old addled brain can't remember her posting name and can't find the thread with it on!

PurplePidjin · 21/02/2012 22:11

If I do an MN knit and natter it'll have to be easier reach of the M25 than here tbh

LydiaTheTattooedLady? I think I have the capitals wrong though Confused

TimeForCake · 21/02/2012 22:14

I seem to think Lydia??? lydiathetatooedlady?? Not sure I have got that right or spelt it right though.

Valpollicella · 21/02/2012 22:17

Can I just give you all Thanks for what you lovely people do, knitters and donators?

If my crocheting wasn't so crap I'd join in. But I just wanted to let you all know that you are all so very kind hearted. Creating something to treasure and remember someone by is such a wonderful thing.

I'm so sorry MrWubbly. I wish you and your DS as much strength as possible in the coming weeks and months.

MinnieBar · 21/02/2012 22:21

If it goes ahead, put me down for a square. I just bought some DB Cashmerino (blue) as I thought I could start my own version of a MN blanket for my DDs.

PurplePidjin · 21/02/2012 22:26

Val, watch out for the thread - we'll get your square in there. I even managed to teach Blondes Shock

Minnie, what a lovely idea Smile

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/02/2012 22:32

Blimey Androbbob - the very cheek of some people. Honestly.

The worry I have for Lydia is that she was doing everyone a big favour with her price of the wool wasn't she? She cant have been making any profit on the stuff she sold us. She was being incredibly generous and I'd hate to push it, current economic climate and all. Does that make sense? And I think Magic was a friend of hers? I'm not sure about that though. Knots might know.

We are still waiting to hear from the family as far as I know. Poor man. Thinking of them.

Thumbwitch · 21/02/2012 22:57

If MrWubbly doesn't respond to the PM, perhaps MNHQ might be able to translate it into an email and send it to Wubbly's email account? Although that wouldn't necessarily help either, would it - he may not be accessing that account either, poor man. :(

Jux · 21/02/2012 23:07

If I get a PM I get an email telling me I've got a PM. The trouble is that MN probably only have Wubbly's email, so contact may be impossible.

When my bro died I couldn't bear to deactivate his email acct or anything, so collected his mails until the probate sol told his ISP and email provider of his death. Most people are more efficient than I was, though.

Thumbwitch · 22/02/2012 01:44

That's a good point Jux, I'd forgotten that.

My Dad still hasn't deactivated my Mum's email account and she died 4 1/2 years ago. I still have her phone number in my mobile as well. Can't bring myself to delete it. Probably silly but it just seems wrong.
