I've just spotted this about Wubblybubbly. We have to make another blanket.

Happy to donate or make - whichever would be most useful.

Never been involved before, so instructions would be appreciated.

sodapops · 20/02/2012 15:01

I'd like to knit some squares again if that is OK? I am happy to buy my own wool and will knit for someone else if they'd like to.

angelpantser · 20/02/2012 15:01

Count me in. A bit more flush than previously so when we have decided on colours I'll buy some wool and get cracking.

Not exactly in the right part of the country for the usual make-up crew (I'm in Northants) but if there is anything I can do re admin or making up please let me know.

ILoveAFullFridge · 20/02/2012 15:09

I will make squares again.

(I'm a previous blanketeer under a name change)

Perhaps, given Wubbly's 'vision', we could incorporate some nature motifs - trees, mountains, etc?

PurplePidjin · 20/02/2012 15:10

Rowan Cashsoft or Debbie Bliss Cashmerino

Double Knit weight NOT Baby DK (Baby is slightly thinner)

4mm hook or needles recommended

Make a 6" square to the pattern of your choice and post it to the address which will be PM'd.

If you can craft but are short on dough (like me) please don't be ashamed, there are many people itching for the opportunity to be involved who will send you a ball of wool to use!

Donors and crafters are equally valued and respected.

All squares are equally valuable whether expertly cabled or beginner garter stitched. Actually, the complicated ones look best surrounded by plain, so please please have a go

Crafters must sew in their own pesky ends Grin

I think that's all the "rules" Thanks

KnottyLocks · 20/02/2012 15:18

Some pics of previous blankets can be seen here for those who are new to the Blanketeers.

sodapops · 20/02/2012 15:20

Is the list of colours blues/greens/creams and lilacs?

KnottyLocks · 20/02/2012 15:21

Before anyone rushes off to buy wool, would you mind waiting until we've heard back from Mr Wubbly, please?

I really appreciate all the lovely offers, I just don't want anyone to have gone to too much trouble if our offer of the blanket isn't taken up.

Thanks
KnottyLocks · 20/02/2012 15:24

Soda, I think we'll go for the following:

blues, greens, deepish purples, silver/greys and cream (not yellows)

When we're ready Smile

sodapops · 20/02/2012 15:31

Thanks Knotty.

I'll have a little look at the site I usually use so I can get an idea!Smile

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/02/2012 15:46

Desperately sad news Sad

LadySybil - to learn casting off. I very nearly had to send my first ever square to Knotty still on the needles... Blush

Jux · 20/02/2012 15:49

I could knit one. So could dd. Let us know.

nickelDorritt · 20/02/2012 16:08

I learned how to sew in ends because of your request pidj Grin

CakeMixture · 20/02/2012 16:14

Im happy to knit a few squares if someone doesnt mind sending me the wool used (clueless about that bit)

PurplePidjin · 20/02/2012 16:22

Thanks nickel. I've also had squares sent to me with stitchmarkers holding the lasr row together because the knitter ran out of time.

The effort that person made to learn shows how much they care about the recipient.

SpannerPants · 20/02/2012 17:16

I've got some lilac and blue Cashmerino so I'm ready to go whenever we get the nod. I'm happy to make more squares if someone could send me wool - I've only got enough wool to do one at the moment (and I'm on SMP so have no spare money)

CiderwithBuda · 20/02/2012 17:24

I can do some squares too. Have some wool already.

Very sad that another blanket is needed.

PurplePidjin · 20/02/2012 19:51

Bumpitty bump for the evening crew Thanks

WhoremoaneeGrainger · 20/02/2012 20:15

Hi guys - more than happy to knit -and PIDJ i have bought myself a wool needle so i can sew in my ends Grin Grin. Knew that would please you.

Can possibly get one ball in, but happy to knit more if someone wants to be my buyer.

Very sad that another blanket is needed, but nice to send a woolly hug when we can.

PurplePidjin · 20/02/2012 20:19

Yay, WG Grin

I've built up quite a collection now, one day I shall learn to darn Hmm

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/02/2012 11:50

Would someone like to send me some wool to knit some squares?

KnottyLocks · 21/02/2012 12:01

SDTG, will get that sorted once we're up and running.

At the moment we're waiting to hear back from MrWubbly. Although I've sent a PM, he may not know how to access it, so I've mentioned it briefly on his thread. We are hoping he looks at the thread or checks Wubbly's email - if he has access to it. Other than that, the difficulty will be trying to contact him. Obviously and quite naturally, his priorities will lie with Lawrie and himself at the moment, so we really do not want to intrude.

If we can't contact the family, we don't know if they'd like a blanket, or even where to send it to. Therefore, we will have to wait for the moment.

Pleiades45 · 21/02/2012 12:25

I've just found this for anyone looking for a pattern for a 6 inch square.
6 inch blocks

itsthawooluff · 21/02/2012 12:29

I'm up for knitting another square or three. Do I need to get wool? Still Debbie Bliss Cashmerino?

KnottyLocks · 21/02/2012 13:00

Itsthawooluff,

when we get the go ahead, we'll be using the usual wool: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK and Rowan Cashsoft DK, in blues, silvers, greens, warm purples and cream(not yellow).

However at the moment, we're waiting to find out if Wubbly's family would like a blanket.
