We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

For anyone ordering wool RUcraft has free delivery this weekend and has Rowan cash soft. I have ordered some wool and a hook I have no idea how successful my attempt will be but I shall give it a go. Thinking of Chipmonkey and her family

purpleknittingmum · 08/10/2011 14:50

Yes I was impressed at the speed of it!! I had said to my OH that I would be getting 2 things in the post this week, the wool for this and something from and online survey I am testing and they both arrived today!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2011 18:34

Love Em Enner BOF Grin Just checked BIWI - your lovely knitter didn't give a name, but it looks like you've sorted it out anyway.

I'm staggered that wool has already started to arrive, that's simply brilliant.

I have replied to all PM's from this afternoon, and another big thank you to everyone.

I need to start my square as it will take me a week Blush It is going to be purple and very very basic but it will be knitted with love. Smile

purpleknittingmum · 08/10/2011 20:59

Do we have a date yet for posting off the squares? Got one done so far!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2011 21:22

No date as yet purple, but I shall ask my technical advisor.......

I know we have had some amazingly speedy wool deliveries, but mostly I imagine crafters will be getting wool towards the middle of next week.

But super speedy knitting Purple. I am seriously impressed Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2011 21:54

I'm doing a bunt Hmm

Thank you to Pistey for clarifying the subtle differences of Debbie Bliss wool and saving me from ordering the wrong type!! Pink wool now on its way direct from Cucumberpatch (package addressed to Blanket for Chipmonkey). A big bunch of Thanks to all you wonderful knitters. Grin

SoriaMoria · 09/10/2011 10:05

I've pm'd as would very much like to contribute. Thanks for organising.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2011 10:43

goygoy Grin I actually know nothing about wool, as Knotty and Pidj will concur, what I do know is that all the squares need to be made from the same stuff, and that's what is on the list!

But thank you to you.
SoriaMoria, another thank you, I've returned your PM...

Just an FYI - time is just as valuable as money. Someone who is able to purchase wool is as stuck without a crafter as a crafter without wool. Both people are equally wonderful!

And huge cred to all those learning new skills Thanks

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2011 19:12

"!n union there is strength." I think that was Aesop?

Pidj you are so right, this is true team work, everyone does their bit, and together we can achieve something amazing for someone else, but without each other we would achieve nothing.

Thanks for all

Pidj/Knotty, How many balls do you usually have for edging and sewing up? And without seeing the squares, would you have a preference for colour?
