We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

4mm needles or hooks, much smaller and it's a bitch to stitch

Thanks

I concur Grin

4mm hook is the way to go. Slightly bigger, 4.5 also fine.

Two lovely balls on their way to you Pistey. I really could have got quite carried away on the that website even though I have no idea how to knit I found myself quite fancying ordering some patterns and more wool Smile

Pistey I have - rather inefficiently - PM'd you twice. One reply will be fine. Grin

Count me in for knitting. So sad for Chipmonkey and her family.

Just marking my place while I dither. I usually donate wool for these lovely projects, but as a result of seeing the beautiful creations you all produce, I have got myself some wool, a hook and a pile of crochet books! Going very slowly but am getting there (ish) Smile. Will decide in the next day or two whether I am good enough to produce a very basic square or not. If not, I'll donate wool.
Well done Piste for taking on the admin. Will pm you when I've decided.

I've PM'd you Pistey.

Thanks for the women's refuge link Pidj, I've got loads of odds & ends I could use on that one (although having made the mistake of going onto Ravelry with DTD in the room, I now have an order for a mermaid & doll's blanket - oh, and a bumblebee after she saw the one I made for Cupoftea's bunting this morning!).

DO the squares need to be blocked before sending?

Report
KnottyLocks · 07/10/2011 14:20

No, they don't need blocking. We'll be crocheting the squares together rather than sewing so it's actually easier to do this when the squares aren't blocked.

However, we'd really appreciate it if you would sew in the ends.

Pesky things.
