We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

Do you want any decorative applique bits? If not then I can do a couple of squares (have just learnt Tunisian crochet, which is knitting with a hook)

6" squares

Wool is Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK or Rowan Cashsoft DK

Blues, pinks, purples, greens, silver/greys

Squares can be plain, striped, patterned - your choice.

If appliqued, it must be in the same wool type. Thanks.

Plain garter stitch squares are awesome.

Fancy stitches are awesome.

Flowers, hearts, initials etc are awesome.

Your level of skill bears no relevance to this project - as always, the one square that someone teaches themself to knit is as more valuable than the double figures sent by more experienced crafters.

Anyone who gets into the swing of things and wants to carry on, see [[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/arts_and_crafts/1315704-Fancy-knitting-a-blanket-or-even-a-bit-of-one-to-give-to-women-and-children-escaping-domestic-violence this thread] Smile Thanks

BOF, if the wool you have is DK but not Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK or Rowan Cashsoft DK, it can be used for the Woman's Refuge project.

Knotty - I have been asked a technical question re crochet Confused Does it matter what size hooky thing you use for this if you are a crochet star?

I have ordered wool for me to knit and will pm you for address when I have done squares.

So sad to be doing more squares so soon. Love to Chipmonkey.

I'd say a 4/4.5mm hook for DK wool...that's the gauge most of the knitters will be using.

(will defer to Knotty's greater knowledge)
