We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

Well, he knows you are able to support yourself with your Burlesque school.

LOL.

SoupDragon · 10/11/2011 07:56

I am also rather pleased that we are managing to brighten up an otherwise dull day for the postie :)

AugustMoon · 10/11/2011 09:38

Morning, thanks Pistey. I'm sorry they are a bit late and off-square and hope they don't cause too much trouble when joining. I was actually considering re-doing them but a few days passed so the OCD didn't have time to get the better of me! (I struggle posting things - it's so final - anyone else like that?)
Also, I would have sent the leftover wool but there wasn't room in the little jiffy bag. I have some of the steeley blue and the beige (which wasn't what i wanted, thought it would be more cream than beige but hey) but I've used the rest of the pink, it was so nice! Shall I post? Could anyone make use of these?

SoupDragon · 10/11/2011 09:41

I have to shove things in an envelope and seal them up so I can no longer see them!

AugustMoon · 10/11/2011 09:48

Soupy :)

When the blanket is completed will we get to see a photo of it Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/11/2011 18:56

Yes Cookie you will be able to see the finished blanket for Chipmonkey, there will be a photo on the MN Blanket Flikr page at the very end of the project. But it will certainly be a good while off yet, so in the mean time have a look here at the last blanket which was made for Whatevertheweather.

Tis totally gorgeoise stuff.

OOOOOH THAT IS BOOTIFUL Grin

purplepidjin · 11/11/2011 21:04

Two anonymous pale blue squares with 3d leaves in the corner arrived at mine yesterday. Pistey, I'll hang on to them and we can add them to the rest when we do the cake meet if you like?

HuldraJente · 11/11/2011 21:33

Wow. Just seen the pics of the blanket for Whatevertheweather. How amazing. Glad the squares arrived safely. I'm sure this blanket will be every bit as beautiful.

SoupDragon · 12/11/2011 08:42

It may be worth putting a thread on Gransnet when if we have another project.

AugustMoon · 12/11/2011 09:56

That's a good idea Soupy, have you done that before with other projects? They'd put us amateur young 'uns to shame most likely!

SoupDragon · 12/11/2011 10:06

No, we've not done it. I saw them mentioned on, I think, the Refuge blanket thread and popped over for a look (although I sincerely hope it is a long time before I am a grandmother - DS1 is 12.5!). There is a Arts and crafts section with a knitting thread so there are definitely potential recruits over there.

There may be someone willing to take on the construction side as this is where we end up with too much for too few.

AugustMoon · 12/11/2011 23:32

I'd love to say I could take it on but would be a bit nervous - probably beyond me, only done it once before and it was a small blanket with all the same squares / no. stitches. Hmm

purplepidjin · 13/11/2011 08:38

I really really really hope we don't need another one for a very long time

August, I'd be happy to help in a consultancy role, it's just that circumstances have changed so I don't have the time to do the whole lot Sad

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/11/2011 08:40

Morning Brew

Thank you Pidj that sounds the best idea Smile Hanging onto the squares is a good idea too!!!

I think I know who these may be from, and if you want to claim them please do, otherwise.... two gorgeoise anonymous pale blue squares with 3D leaves arriving at Pidjs Thank you Thanks

I may join in advance.

I finally sent my squares yesterday afternoon from the central post office in Exeter. Lady behind the counter says they won't actually leave until Monday morning but you should get them Tuesday or Wednesday. Sorry they are so late.
