We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

I'm loving getting woolly packages Grin And the two today were so beautifully and securely packed up for their journey, it took me a while to get in to them!

Thanks to androbbob, your Three Musketeers have arrived safely and are totally gorgeoise, in fact too gorgeoise for me to attempt to kidnap and pass off as my own There will be a home for the flower too I'm sure, that is really cute.

Thanks to GetOnYourDancingShoes - wow you have been so busy Shock You must surely knit with the speed of a thousand gazelles! Beautiful colours too. Fab-U-Lously gorgeoise.

The deadline for squares is Friday, PM me when you are ready to post

Cheers Wine

TerrysNo2 · 25/10/2011 22:29

trumpton · 26/10/2011 07:31

2 cabled squares done and ready to post. The third is proving to be a tricksy little swine so may be abandoned and will do a simpler one. Anyhoo will get them in post by tomorrow. I have been away and couldn't take knitting but am back and raring ti knit.

RatherBeKnownAsALooseHooker · 26/10/2011 09:22

Grin at tricksy little swine!

androbbob · 26/10/2011 10:28

pistey surely you could pretend my first one was yours, until you have a proper go and find that actually your own creations are more gorgeoise than mine Grin.
Your admin skills need applauding. clap clap

RatherBeKnownAsALooseHooker · 26/10/2011 17:57

A stupid question coming up Blush

If you want to do a 6" square of double crochet, do you make a chain to start that is 6" ?

There, I said it was stupid!

Only I did, and now by row three it has shrunk to 4" And I thought I was supposed to be a loose hooker Grin

TimeForCake · 26/10/2011 18:12

I hope that gin will be passed round! That is exactly what was happening to me Pistey. It's not quite so bad now, though not perfect, and I have to measure every row even if I have counted the stitches! I measured a 6" chain to start but I don't know if that's right.
But, I can now listen to the tv and crochet sort of. I didn't see a great deal of Downton Abbey, but I heard quite a lot! Lift my eyes and it's disastrous. Grin
Are you allowing a turning chain at the end of each row? as if I know what I'm talking about!

TimeForCake · 26/10/2011 18:14

*disasterous

TimeForCake · 26/10/2011 18:17

Oh I think I was right the first time. Brain gone. Gin needed. Confused

TerrysNo2 · 26/10/2011 21:48

Not impressed that mine hasn't arrived yet, damn Royal Mail, I posted it on Monday Confused

TarquinGyrfalcon · 26/10/2011 22:30

Thank you for letting me know mine have arrived.
And once again huge thanks to my wool donor and Piste for putting everything together.

stressedHEmum · 26/10/2011 22:43

North of the border ones were from me.

RatherBeKnownAsALooseHooker · 26/10/2011 22:53

Mystery is solved!
Thanks to stressedHEmum for her gorgeoise squares that came all the way from north of the border Grin

And Tarquin, you are too kind but I have only done this v small part. The real work will be done by Knotty and Pidj when it comes to actually attaching the squares into its glorious final piece.

Lots of PMs this evening, all replied to, many thanks everyone.

duchesse · 27/10/2011 12:20

Mine will be a little late I'm afraid. Stupid work getting in the way...

RatherBeKnownAsALooseHooker · 27/10/2011 12:45

My joy is complete! My first woolly package addressed to Loose Hooker Grin

And there is no question that it could easily have fitted through my letter box, but my lovely postie preferred to knock and handed it to me in person with the address facing up. He had this face on Hmm I just wanted to so badderly. For the briefest moment I was going to explain, but then I thought possibly tis one of those things that will never sound quite right, so I left it!

Grin Grin

Back to the business in hand then! Gorgeoise Woolly Squares today from....

GhoulishGlendaFestersAgain - the cause of my joy, in two ways - the envelope and the enclosed chocolate, many thanks, and that is such a lovely rose pink you've used for your squares . Thanks to you

and

TerrysNo2 - your worry is over, your square arrived today, another beautiful colour, and it is more than OK, tis luvverly.. Thanks to you.

Duchesse - no worries, just as soon as possible please, and I hate it when work gets in the way of life!

mothmagnet · 27/10/2011 13:08

My and whatevertheweather's squares are finished and packed Smile
However, there is a fair chance I may miss today's post as I'm rushing for work and have yet to do other boring stuff and throw on make-up.
Sorry, they'll definitely be there by Saturday.

GhoulishGlendaFestersAgain · 27/10/2011 13:18

You're welcome Can't take credit for the wool, it was sent by a kind donor.

RatherBeKnownAsALooseHooker · 27/10/2011 13:42

mothmagnet - Saturday is fine, and don't drastically throw on the make up, people will think Hallowe'en has come early!!! [hgrin]

We love our donors GhoulishGlendaFestersAgain, a massive thank you to all of them, and mostly crafters never know where the wool has come from. But at the end of this first part of the project I am going to post full lists of all contributors to Chipmonkey's blanket, so crafters and donors together.

It is, again, the most amazing team effort.

ShakeThyGoryKnottyLocks · 27/10/2011 13:52

Oi oi! LooseHooker!

Pics of the 'raffle' blanket are on Mumsnet facebook page, if you's like a look.

RatherBeKnownAsALooseHooker · 27/10/2011 14:12

OOOoooooo..... Had a look, marvellous stuff and you is well famous now Knotty...

Really good that MNHQ are going to do their part for the raffle blanket, much easier for them to promote / advertise and reach a wide audience. All good stuff.

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 27/10/2011 15:09

Lossehooker I have pm'd you Thanks

bushymcbush · 27/10/2011 17:47

I have posted two humble squares today, hope they arrive in time.

Thanks to my lovely anonymous donor, who sent 2 beautiful balls of dusky pink wool to Huddersfield. I hope I did them justice.
