We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

Knotty, stop it! Grin

It was really good and I loved it, even though the lady said I was a loose hooker.......

No one else on the course found that nearly as funny as I did! It will make me titter for long while yet Grin

But my brain is so very tired from all that counting and concentration. Zzzzzzzzz Bloomin hard work - respect to all you crocheteers!!

This morning, when I had the lady on call, I could do double and treble crochet and something with holes in, the holes being there by design. Whether I can ever do it again will be the test. And I made a circle thing of which I am inordinately proud.

So Cakey - yes I can certainly flick my hook, not sure how effectively!

Fab. Well done you loose hooker, you!
No way I'd have kept a straight face either!
I managed to make a roundy circle thing too and I love it, but it was far more by chance than design and I don't really know how I did it! :)

Must be time for a sit down and Brew then after all your efforts.

Oh Pistey, you really have to name change now, if only to make me chuckle when I see LooseHooker pop up. Grin I was once told I was a ShamefulWoman by an Indian fortune teller in Delhi once. never a truer word was spoken. But I digress.

I am here to tell you that I have had half a bottle of wonky neck Wine and cannot be responsible for the accuracy of the forthcoming granny squares that will be coming your way.

I've had a hard day. It was medicinal. Honest.

What do you think Nelly?

at Shameful Woman Grin

Even though I am a Loose Hooker, I have been given a pattern for a Granny Square although at the moment it is totally beyond me. And to those who say crochet is quicker, well I say, I beg to differ!

But I am going to try and make a square, but quite possibly the first time, I shall just attempt one in double crochet... What I may resort to is photographing one that arrives here and passing it off as my own Grin

When you are ready for posting, PM me for the address Squares for Chipmonkey are coming here just until Knotty&Pidj are ready to hook this blanket together and that is a real treat as I get to see how gorgeoise everything is!

Clarsy name there, Pistey [hgrin]

I've finished edging WTW's blanket.

Now all I need to do is find my camera, some batteries, the leads and set up a Flicker account. I believe that may actually take longer than putting the blanket together. [techno thicko]

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 23/10/2011 07:49

Love your new name and the story behind it, made me snigger :o I could not have kept a straight face at all if that had been said to me. I've finished one ball of wool and will start the second tonight when dd's are asleep so should be ready to post by Tuesday at the latest.

I want to learn to crochet now

Whenisitmysleepytime · 23/10/2011 08:05

Pistey - you do realise you'll get parcels addressed to 'loose hooker' now! Grin

GhoulsGhouls · 23/10/2011 08:58

Pistey to me you will always be a Top Hooker

I have finished one square, and hope to get another one done in the next day or two. Where shall I send it. I am itching to write Loose Hooker on the envelope. Arf.

KnottyLocks · 23/10/2011 09:23

Imagine having to collect that from the sorting office Grin

It suits you to a T, you loose hooker you. Grin

Good luck with your square, you'll be fine, once you get the hang of it, it's easy, honest. It must be if I can do it.

Have ordered lots of lovely wool (any excuse) and it should arrive today or tomorrow :)

Pancakeflipper · 24/10/2011 10:37

When is it the deadline for me to put them in the envelope?

* ta RatherBeonthePiste for the virtual wine, it was virtualluy gorgeous*

greenzebra · 24/10/2011 10:42

the package is going to be winging its way to you today loosehooker I addressed it to Ms Pistey, shame I didnt see you name change Ms Loosehooker would look wicked on the package.

I managed to get three squares done out of one ball of wool, you dont have to to use them all. There is also a card in there for chipmonkey.

purplewerepidj · 24/10/2011 13:38

I'm very glad you're able to join us again Smile

miniwedge · 24/10/2011 13:48

Hi all. Well I have done a few squares now, I'll be able to post on Friday when I can get to the po so will be with you sat.

Um, having a slight crisis, whilst I, aware that size really shouldn't matter, in this case I rather fear it does......
Will you be able to border or use some sort of magic spell if my squares are a bit , um, lacking?

Have been casting on 33 and then knitting 33 ish rows.

Yours hopefully,

Mini wedge x

IvysEdgelessSafetycube · 24/10/2011 13:52

I thought I'd post in here, too, as all the crafters seem to have gathered here..

Photos of Magic8 blanket No1

I want to help with these blankets, too, but I am so snowed under with stuff at the moment... ahh what the heck, who do I pm?

miniwedge · 24/10/2011 13:56

Oh beautiful blanket! Thank you for posting those pictures ivy. Smile

BecauseImAWerewolefIt · 24/10/2011 14:16

Wow - that is absolutely stunning.

KnottyLocks · 24/10/2011 14:35

Mini, we can put a crochet edge on your squares, if we need to.

For future reference, although we suggest casting on 33 to start with, to a get a 6" square most people have to knit 42-46 rows.

GhoulsGhouls · 24/10/2011 15:28

Did I see somewhere, or have I imagined it (crosses fingers) that you would rather not have the squares blocked?
