Following on from the blanket for Magic8 which is under construction, we'd like to offer one to Whatevertheweather who has recently lost her baby daughter.

I know there is already an army of knitters and crocheters and donors out there; would anyone be able to join us?

I think the 'hug' idea is just lovely too Wtw, it will mean a lot to Katie I am sure. My condolences to you and your family and hoping the blanket brings you all a little comfort.

Thanks for the pm knotty. 11 squares and you have just learnt how?! Wow! [v impressed emoticon]. :)

hairypotter · 31/08/2011 17:33

whatever your post is so beautiful. What a lovely way to put it, a woolly hug from her little sister. Again, I am so so sorry for your loss, and may this bring some small shred of comfort.

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 31/08/2011 18:40

WTW we are glad to be able to bring you and your family some small comfort at this sad time. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your baby daughter Erin.

I'm sorry to be a nuisance but I offered to donate this morning, either wool or money. The thread has moved on a lot since then but I'm not sure what I should do/who I should contact? Can someone point me in the right direction pretty please ...

I promise I'm not completely hopeless, and I will be able to find the post office, my purse etc Grin

TinyWee, pm knottylocks and she'll find you a crafty match Star

TinyWee, I've got you on my list Smile

I'm doing the bedtime routine thing before finishing off the matching.

Great name btw.

TinyWeeTeethGreatBigBite · 31/08/2011 20:20

Thanks ladies I wasn't meaning to be pushy, just worried I missed something I was supposed to know! If that makes any sense!

Thanks knotty I like yours too, its very apt for myself and 3dds, lost count how many combs I've snapped this year Grin

NessaRose · 31/08/2011 20:31

Knotty, have PM'ed you.

purplepidjin · 31/08/2011 20:33

A thread to let you know your squares have arrived Star

Tsil · 31/08/2011 20:51

Knotty I have pm'd you. I donated for magic8 but all the incredible knitters on that thread inspired me to learn so can knit basic squares/patterns.

If I could be matched with a donor that would be great but if not I can probably get the wool myself.

purplepidjin · 31/08/2011 21:03

Yay Tsil!! Go for it Grin If you're anywhere near me (New Forest) I'll teach you the superior art of crochet Wink

Oh and everyone - don't forget Lydiathetattooedlady runs a wool shop and has lots of the exact right wool in stock at the discount price of £3 a ball - put some business a MNer's way and get exactly the right wool sent to exactly the right place without having to go through complicated explanations!

I've just seen Whatevertheweather's thread and would like to knit some squares.

I hope it brings some comfort to you and your family WTW. I'm so sorry for the loss of Erin.

GetOnYourDancingShoes · 31/08/2011 21:16

If any more knitters/crocheters are needed, I'd like to help. It's the anniversary of my son's death today and I'd like to do something positive IYSWIM.
If someone could let me know where to send the squares, I'll get going as soon as possible.

Whenisitmysleepytime · 31/08/2011 21:19

Lydia can you tell us your website?
or is that naughty i'm looking to buy wool for other projects too :)

BearGryllsBra · 31/08/2011 21:21

So sad purple and Knotty.

I've done seven granny squares for Magic8's blankie but have run out of wool now (will be posting them tomorrow with leftoverwool for edging). I'm happy to do some more for the other blankets if you have more donors than crafters.

Sending whatevertheweather and cheeseandgherkins a woolly hug.

Shoulddohousework · 31/08/2011 21:27

I cannot knit or crochet but would be willing to donate money/wool whatever is required for such a sad cause although what everyone is doing is lovely!

Whatevertheweather · 31/08/2011 21:51

I have just put a few photos of Erin on my profile for a short while if anyone would like to see. I totally understand if people do not want to as they are quite sad (don't know how else to word it Sad ) I specifically put the one of E and K together on there so you could see the lucky recipient of your wonderful blanket x

RatherBeOnThePiste · 31/08/2011 22:00
