Following on from the blanket for Magic8 which is under construction, we'd like to offer one to Whatevertheweather who has recently lost her baby daughter.

I know there is already an army of knitters and crocheters and donors out there; would anyone be able to join us?

Knotty, got mine posted off today!

KnottyLocks · 14/09/2011 07:11

PKM, thanks. Look forward to seeing them.

trumpton · 14/09/2011 08:33

Knotty I have 3 squares ready to post.More pink wool arrived yesterday still waiting for blue. Shall I post the 3 I have done or wait until last minute and post ( hopefully ) ?? all 9 together.??

Sorry but have been a bit hors de combat due to bluddy tooth abcess.

SO 3 now or all at once?. < Wonders about Chairing meeting whilst flashing knitting needles...decides not>

KnottyLocks · 14/09/2011 09:27

Trumpton, entirely up to you. If it's easier to wait, that's fine.

How's the toothless tooth abcess?

BearGryllsBra · 14/09/2011 16:16

Shoulddohousework (so should I!), thank you very much for the woollywool, it's lovely! there was a ball of cream and a ball of pale blue. I used the bits and bobs that I had left from the last blankie to add to them and have eight grannies almost ready to post - just got to sew in the ends, then parcel them up. Should get them in the post tomorrow hopefully to Knotty.

Thanks for sending me it :)

BearGryllsBra · 14/09/2011 16:18

Just remembered I need to take some pics and put them up.

Pistey, am sure yours are gorgeoise! OT but have you been running/shredding? I have done a big fat ZERO. I'm Blush of myself. Am scared to venture over to our thread .....

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/09/2011 18:21

Lovely Bear. It would be over gilding the lily somewhat to say my squares will be gorgeoise, bless you. I'm thinking they need a crochet flower made by her Royal Knottiness attaching to make them less plain

AND Bear- get Shredded!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/09/2011 18:23

And what is a granny square?! Is it a specific type of design?

DutchOma · 14/09/2011 20:16

granny square

purplepidjinawoollytangle · 14/09/2011 21:54

It's what I'll teach you to make when we finally get round to that coffee, Pistey

I like the word gorgeoise, I think I shall aspire to be a member of the Gorgeoisie ie remember to pluck my eyebrows, wear makeup etc

Lazy tired Pidj cba to go back and check if it was this thread or the other, but here is a photo of the completed Squiffy Square Grin

KnottyLocks · 14/09/2011 21:55

Her Royal Knottiness?

NessaRose · 14/09/2011 22:04

I still haven't got the wool!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/09/2011 22:38

Pidj - you are Gorgeoise darling!
And I'm going to hold you to that.....

So the granny square (thank you Oma) is the particular design of that crochet square? I likey Grin

purplepidjinawoollytangle · 14/09/2011 23:01

The Granny Square is pretty much your basic beginner crochet project. By the time you get to the third row, you'll be an expert at treble crochet Grin Never forget the seventies

I'm waiting for you to come up with a date!!!

KnottyLocks · 15/09/2011 07:07

Nessa, I'm on the case!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/09/2011 14:36

You sound like you are on a mission Knotty?!

I am just finishing my second ever piece of knitting. Yaaaayyyy! I did go wrong in the middle, but like to think I sorted it.
I may even go for a third..... Time will tell.....
It would be nice to do one square that doesn't have something wrong with it Grin

KnottyLocks · 15/09/2011 14:51

Mission? Me? Grin

Well done on square number 2, Piste. Look forward to seeing that one too.

NessaRose · 15/09/2011 16:11

Thanks muchly Knotty. Star

Whenisitmysleepytime · 15/09/2011 20:13

my squares are done! :)
i've gone for plain but textured iyswim as i like to fiddle with bits on blankets when i'm snuggled up.
i'll get dh to pop them in the post box on his way to work tomorrow.

flapjack77 · 15/09/2011 20:20

Posted my squares off today. Have got some wool left so if you need anymore doing I can either do another square or send to someone who can knit a bit faster than me!

Pancakeflipper · 15/09/2011 20:34

Posted my 2 squares today x

KnottyLocks · 15/09/2011 20:55

Thanks, my lovelies. I look forward to getting them Smile

Flapjack, if you would like to knit another, I'll put in with Cheese's squares. I'll be working on WTW's first so a later square is fine. Thanks.

AllYourCakeAreBelongToMe · 15/09/2011 20:57

Just seen this. If anyone still has wool to donate, I'm more than happy to do some squares.

KnottyLocks · 15/09/2011 21:03

oooo, had somebody offering wool just earlier. I'm off to find em.

AllYourCake, PM me your address, I'll get some to you asap.

KnottyLocks · 15/09/2011 21:06
