Following on from the blanket for Magic8 which is under construction, we'd like to offer one to Whatevertheweather who has recently lost her baby daughter.

I know there is already an army of knitters and crocheters and donors out there; would anyone be able to join us?

I haven't received anything yet- hope it's not gone missing... {:(

KnottyLocks · 06/09/2011 10:03

Dunno what's happened there, Duchesse. Your donor PMed me to say it had been ordered.

I'll go have a little check.

lydiathetattooedlady · 06/09/2011 12:05

Hi! duchesse do you know if your donor got it form me? I can check my proof of postage to see when it was sent if she did x x
Im probably going to sound really silly but has the magic8 thread gone? I cant find it? Ive got 15 squares done for the blanket and imabout to start on squares for cheese and whatevers blanket.
And to sound like a broken record, everyones squares look beautiful x x

KnottyLocks · 06/09/2011 12:18

Lydia, Magic8 thread is here

Duchesse, I've PMed your donor.

TinyPawz · 06/09/2011 12:52

I received a lovely ball of wool today from an anon MNer. Thank you whoever (whomever?) you are.

I'll start knitting this afternoon.

appleblossoms · 06/09/2011 13:40

I haven't received any wool yet either. Knotty can you get in touch with my donor and just confirm when it was sent etc? Looks like the postal service is a bit slow at the moment...probably due to all the mnetters sending woolly parcels up and down the country!

KnottyLocks · 06/09/2011 13:51

Apple, your wool was ordered on the 1st but not with Lydia so it may be a little slower.

I'm at work tomorrow and Thurs so won't have much time to chase it.
Are you happy for your donor to contact you directly?

appleblossoms · 06/09/2011 14:09

Yep, that's totally fine. I'm sure it's just being a little slow and will turn up in the next few days. Thanks for organising all of this.

GrownUpNow · 06/09/2011 14:36

I've received two balls of wool today and started on the first square. I hope I am doing it right, co 33 st and knit until square right? I'll maybe play about with a pattern once I've done the first one.

Thank you to my donor. xx

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/09/2011 14:51

Hey belledechocchipcookie - thank you for being my knitty person x

belledechocchipcookie · 06/09/2011 14:56

You're very welcome. Smile Such sad circumstances though. Sad

NessaRose · 06/09/2011 15:12

Knotty can you check to see if the wool has been ordered for me please? Sorry to be a pain.

Soupy how is your ds?

KnottyLocks · 06/09/2011 15:43

Nessa, it's been ordered. How you feeling today?

NessaRose · 06/09/2011 16:50

Thanks Knotty. I am feeling a bit better just very tired.

trumpton · 06/09/2011 17:16

Toothache sorted. Dentist took one horrified look at face (Hmm and took xrays . Put his next patient on hold and whipped tooth out. Will start squares for Whatever and Cheese' families tomorrow. Have done squares for Magic8 family and will block tonight and post tomorrow.

NessaRose · 06/09/2011 17:17

trumpton glad its been sorted for you.

KnottyLocks · 06/09/2011 17:57

Glad you are both on the mend. Now, take it easy, please!

Whenisitmysleepytime · 06/09/2011 18:36

Knotty - would you like us to block the squares? I've not blocked anything before but it looks fairly straightforward. I think... Hmm

Pancakeflipper · 06/09/2011 19:02

I received my ball of wool today. Thank you so very much to the person who gave the dosh and to the organised posting out person. I have started! But I am a slow knitter so gotta crack on with it. Thanks Knottylocks for sending me the details for posting.

duchesse · 06/09/2011 19:14

I received two balls (one cream, one green) from a wool shop in Melton Mobray today, so thank you, kind donor! I shall start this evening.

Pancakeflipper · 06/09/2011 19:24

That wool shop in Melton Mowbray must have empty shelves and the owner been standing in a queue at the post office all of yesterday with a spreadsheet the size of a small country.

theglove · 06/09/2011 19:31

Am in a mild panic as I don't know what blocking is.

I've finished my Magic squares and will post in the morning, I hope they are ok.

TinyPawz · 06/09/2011 20:37

Blocking??? Are you ladies trying to confuse me with technical terms?

purplepidjin · 06/09/2011 20:45

Don't worry about blocking, i find it shrinks the holes i have to crochet into and makes the whole job harder Blush plus the way I work it (and will pass on to Knotty over fruit juice espresso and cereal bars chocolate cake soon) they all end up looking the same size anyway Grin
