Are there any objections if I use the leftover wool from the Edgar and Rindercella blankets to make something for Blondes? I've got loads! Anyone with leftovers feel free to pm me about either sending it on or sending more squares :)

Knotty McKnot - will you be at The Great Blanket Swap 2021?
Because if so, it's not too late for you and a crochet lesson to hook up.

I've been loitering round this thread for so long now, I can make crafty jokes. Still cant actually do the craft

KnottyLocks · 31/05/2011 07:46

2021? Blimey, that's a long wait.

Hopefully I'll make the 2011 one Grin

Am off visiting family for a couple of days, back Thurs. Can you lot manage to stay out of trouble until then? Hmm

purplepidjin · 31/05/2011 08:11

purplepidjin · 31/05/2011 14:37

Those'll be for me then, nowttakenowt Grin

I'll keep my eyes peeled if you keep your fingers crossed they don't think I'm too batty - I'm just off to the post office to collect last weeks and the normal parcel office guy like to think he has a sense of humour...

purplepidjin · 31/05/2011 18:00

Dunno! If I've got all the squares in by Monday, I'll get on it pdq. Shall we set a provisional date of Monday 13th?

Well Piste and I have a lunch scheduled with Blondes on Sunday 19th - we could present her with it then Grin

I will be posting mine to you PP on Friday fingers crossed. Will be 2 I think, 1 silvery and 1 green. Can you PM me your address please?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 31/05/2011 18:10

sorry.. am I not waiting for something from Wales?!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 31/05/2011 18:29

But I do see your time frame!! I could probably do late afternoon on Monday 13th but would just need to check some stuff next week. We can work it out though!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 31/05/2011 18:32

And Pidj - I haven't heard the phrase PDQ for ages and I've always loved it!! Bless you!

purplepidjin · 31/05/2011 18:58

FYI, I work on a 2 week rota. This week I'm off Mon, Tue and Wed then all weekend (the only proper time I get with DP even though we live together. Weekends are a bit sacred) therefore I'll be off MTW the 13th, 14th and 15th too. The following week I'll be off Thu and Fri the 23rd and 24th...

I have completed 4 squares in RK heather pinky soft lovely colour, and they look good, ( DH thinks do!) a 5th one not so good, as I knitted it from a sleeve I unravelled that I was starting to knit for a baby cardigan, it is a bit scrunchy, shallI keep that one for a dolly blanket or is it any good?

What do I do now? I have been and bought a bodkin as i couldn't find mine, to sew in the ends - is that right?

Do I press them flat, though they are fairly flat?

Will post thursday

xx

DutchOma · 31/05/2011 20:03

Now, not for one thing or another, but if that wool is only just in the post Knotty (stern look), then I am not going to be able to get it, knit up three squares, get them in the post and to Pidjin by the 4th of June. I can knit fast, but there are limits.
So, Pidjin, what would you like me to do: get the three green squares in the post, or wait till Knotty's wool turns up and return 6 squares, but that will probably not be till the 6th or the 7th.

purplepidjin · 31/05/2011 20:10

ali, it'll all flatten out eventually anyhow so don't worry if it's a bit kinky now will suit Blondes perfectly if you'd like to send it. Ends in please, but I'm not fussed about blocking etc - I'm getting a mix of blocked and unblocked from folk Smile

Dutch, it's up to you. might as well send all together and I'll save you a space

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/05/2011 20:23

who are you calling kinky pp Shock

you were the one yesterday telling me to put it in the big hole

alibubbles · 31/05/2011 20:25

Sorry, still not sure what blocking is!

Sorry again for the very unMN xx - was texting DD at the same time!

DutchOma · 31/05/2011 20:28

OK, will wait patiently for wool to turn up.

alibubbles · 31/05/2011 20:32

....and they didn't know in the wool shop!

DutchOma · 31/05/2011 20:41

It's just flattening them out to the size you want, 6"x 6" on the ironing board or so, pinning it down as needed and then put a damp teatowel over it and hold an iron close enough to make steam. Then you take the iron off and the teatowel and you leave your square(s) to dry.
I'm surprised the wool shop didn't know. With acrylic yarn you must not block, but since this is wool you can. Or, if they are near enough the size you want, don't bother and it will all lie flat when Pidjin has had her wicked way with it. I don't do mine.
