Are there any objections if I use the leftover wool from the Edgar and Rindercella blankets to make something for Blondes? I've got loads! Anyone with leftovers feel free to pm me about either sending it on or sending more squares :)

hes taking on santander at the moment (see my thread lol)

the pink and lilac squares sound lovely - well done :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 14:09

You could loan out your Warrior Dad for emergencies!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 14:41

that i could :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 16:01

There's been times when I could have done with a warrior dad. Sad But I'll know where to come now Smile

I'm happy to take part in a Brighton relay.

smokinaces · 26/05/2011 16:58

I have started!!!

I did some practising with some old wool and did a 6x1 "bookmark"! Now have started on the wool sent to me. I'm not sure how good my contributions will be, but am trying to do them neatly!!

Its quite theraputic....

Afternoon Grin

Agree that the only way to get Edgar's blanket to her is in trusted hands. It could indeed be a mission for Parcel Piste!

Smokin, well done you! I'm very proud Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 17:20

depending when you went pisty, you could pick me up on route to brighton :)

go smokin and your knitting :)

purplepidjin · 26/05/2011 17:27

How about:

Piste collects from MissP (N London)

Knotty and I meet in Southampton, meet with Piste in Winchester/Guildford and swap Rinder's and Blondes blankets for Edgars once I finish Blondes'.

Knotty then takes Edgar's and either delivers it to brighton or passes it to someone in between to take to Edgar.

Piste takes Rinder's blankets to Cobham (or we all head over there from Guildford, it's not far. Depends on Rinder's Mum's preference. RHS Wisley for coffee, perhaps?)

Now I've forgotten how we're getting Blondes' blanket from Piste to her Blush

Smoking DON'T WORRY! A plain square made with love and a few dropped stitches is a treasure. You are going to so much effort, and that will show far more than any fancypants stuff you try to do xx

Ooh, x post with Blondes... Do you want to be part of the delivery service???

I'm happy to drive to wherever is useful to pass the blanket on to someone. I could even take it to Brighton if that's easier. I've never been to Brighton, might be a nice day trip :)

And can I just say that the blanket is beautiful. The photos don't do it justice, in the 'flesh' it brought a tear to my eye. I'm sure Edgar and her family will treasure it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 17:36

if i can do anything to help then yes - its the least i can do for all your kindness to me

glad my wool and knitter made lovely squares :)

alibubbles · 26/05/2011 17:42

As said before, happy to do a drive somewhere!

Will post squares tonorrow.

KnottyLocks · 26/05/2011 17:48

Ok, if we wait for Blondes' blanket to be finished, then hopefully we might have Edgar's quilt done too, depending whether LadyOfTheManor is feeling better.

So that would mean 1 trip up the A3 with Rinders' and Blondes
1 trip to the Brighton area to deliver Edgars'

I'm working on the quilt relay but if we could get it to London, which is a possible, we'd be sorted.

purplepidjin · 26/05/2011 17:50

MissP, do you fancy taking some proper shots? Mine were all phone pics at work, because my house isn't very tidy big and is covered in cat and rabbit hair!

It sounds to me like a big ol' blanket meet up is needed for us southerners and we'll just eat coffee and cake!

I know where Brighton is!

My bro used to live there, but he now lives in Tokyo. Definitely a good day out. Brighton that is, not Tokyo.... Although Tokyo is nice, it takes 13 hours ish to get there and 13 ish hours back so technically a day trip isn't gonna happen!

KnottyLocks · 26/05/2011 18:19

I'm finding out where and when the quilt could be in London. I'll let you know when I know.

Oooooooooooooooooooo Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake

KnottyLocks · 26/05/2011 18:20

At least we know how we would get a blanket to Tokyo. Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 18:34

It is always useful to know these things Knotty!

Yaay Blondes - just read - Brighton trip!! We loved my bro living there and it is so close as opposed to Bloomin Japan!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 18:35

Who is in Brighton though?! Confused xx

smokinaces · 26/05/2011 18:48

Now I've forgotten how we're getting Blondes' blanket from Piste to her
Piste and I are going to drink wine have coffee with Blondes to hand deliver it Grin

My sister is in Brighton - I'm up for a road trip too Grin

My 1st square is currently 6 x 2/3 so about a third of the way through. Might manage two at this rate, if I can work out how to cast off!!

KnottyLocks · 26/05/2011 18:50

Edgar lives somewhere in the Brighton area.

Or perhaps I just fancy a trip to Brighton and it's subconscious that's directing these operations.

purpleknittingmum · 26/05/2011 18:53

Posted my squares today!

MissPenteuth · 26/05/2011 18:58

Pics of finished blanket for Edgar should be here if link and album work.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 19:03

Knotty, you only have to say if you want to go to Brighton with me, and we'll have a date. Hmm Edgar probably lives somewhere totally different doesn't she?1 Be honest....

KnottyLocks · 26/05/2011 19:10

hurrah - the blanket looks absolutely fine. What a blessed relief. Smile
