Are there any objections if I use the leftover wool from the Edgar and Rindercella blankets to make something for Blondes? I've got loads! Anyone with leftovers feel free to pm me about either sending it on or sending more squares :)

That is gorgeous. My friend had a darker green one and called it Sprout! It definitely has more soul!!

androbbob · 24/05/2011 22:26

Lovin the blanket (and the car!)

I am sitting here in the NW - Merseyside and can be in the relay if required!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2011 23:00

I'm loving the relay!

I'll be driving at 2 miles an hour though because of my precious cargo, it will be like when we brought our babies home from hospital, and we drove so very carefully!!

KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 06:45

Androbbob, thanks for the offer. I don't think we have to go that far but if we do, you're in!

Piste, it'll be a great sight: you driving in the slow lane, causing accidents when everyone notices your tassles.

KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 06:46

Have proper work today, so will check back in later this afternoon.

purplepidjin · 25/05/2011 07:06

Ok, I'm up for the first leg from Southampton to Guildford.

Piste will take on the second leg, from Guildford to London.

Then we need a London to Milton Keynes, MK to Coventry, Coventry to Birmingham, Birmingham to Telford, Telford to Oswestry? That way no one has to do more than a couple of hours (by my shit geography and google maps)

Any one else got a better idea of how the country is laid out? I freely admit that I was half way through uni before I went further north than Baker Street.

Right, will be up Ipswich way next week. That's an alternative route for Rinders Relay: Pidj to me, me to Suffolk.

She hasn't PMed me her address yet so still don't know exactly where she is.

KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 07:46

Still bleeding miles away though!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 08:04

I think she's in Abu Dhabi

Hmm
KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 08:28

Hang on a minute, I think Rinders may have family in London. I've Pmed this thread for her to see so she knows that we are sorting a relay.

Must go to work now.

purplepidjin · 25/05/2011 08:39

I have a fb mate in shropshire who will pass the blanket on as her contribution. I can't remember her minute name but she knows rinders properly iyswim. So we need to get it to her.

I have her address already. All we need to do is get it oop north t her Grin

Ladies, you are all amazing Grin

I have just found this thread following Knotty's PM to me. I am staggered and amazed and blown away by you all. All the generousity, kindness, thought, organisation of you people. It's truly staggering. Thank you so, so much. I know that the girls and I will love snuggling up in the blanket together. What a perfect, perfect thing to give Smile

I said in my PM to Knotty that I'm actually in North Oxfordshire, so probably not as far north as you think I am. Also, if someone is driving from Guildford to London (on the A3 I assume), there's a place about 10 minutes away from the A3 which would be a good place to deliver.

Oooh, I am so excited.

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2011 11:41

alibubbles · 25/05/2011 13:23

I'm on half term next week, no kiddies, so I'm happy to do a 50 mile radius of AL1 . I can do Milton Keynes, Guildford, I love driving my car. so add me in to the blanket train!

@ squares on the way, had to unpick and reknit one! I might do another under the table at the Governors meeting tonight!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 13:28

OOOOooooooo that's meeeeeee driving along the A3 from Guildford to London, Knotty will let me know, it seems like the cunning delivery plan is coming together!!!

alibubbles · 25/05/2011 13:34

DD lives in Chelsea, works near Baker Street, so can cover collecting from London

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 13:41

We should all play Chariots of Fire as we go along.. Then the last person can play the Final Countdown Grin

When it's my turn I'll just play the Benny Hill theme tune as I go at 2 miles an hour along the hard shoulder in my burly - esque knitted outfit Grin

KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 16:11

Afternoon! Smile

D'you know, I can't get onto Mumsnet at work as it's deemed 'Pornography' Grin That'll be Piste in her tassles, then.

So very lovely that you popped in, Rinders. I'll sort out the relay and get back to you. Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2011 17:08

KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 17:41

Ganging up isn't going to do the trick!

A pair of bissy bossys. Grin

Rinders' Relay on the otherhand is very very achieveable. Hurrah!

KnottyLocks · 25/05/2011 17:45
