Do you mean bobbles that are knitted into the square, LadyW? If so, what you do is:

(Using contrast yarn) - [K1, P1, K1,P1,K1] into next stitch, turn, P5, turn, K 5, turn, P2 together, P1, P2 togetherm turn, slip 1, K2 together, pass slipped stitch over - break off contrast yarn, and carry on with row.

SDTG yes, thanks - I liked the background too and wondered what it was.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 07/04/2011 11:34

Purple - my squares went into the post yesterday, and last night I realised that I hadn't given you any indication who they were from - I have a horrible cold and have all the intelligence of an amoeba at the moment.

So when you get a brown envelope, with 9 squares in it, including one dark blue one with light blue, mauve and light green bobbles on it, and another one in the light green with 5 petals knitted from the light mauve wool appliqued on to form a flower, and another blue one with mauve lazy daisies embroidered on - those are from me.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 07/04/2011 11:35

LadyWellian - I can't find an image of Narketta's bobbles, so I'm not sure what the background is - but if you can point me to an image, I'll have a look and see if I can work it out for you.

HTH

LadyWellian · 07/04/2011 14:11

SDTG you can see them on Purplepidjin's FB picture. I just looked downm the shoutouts until I saw a description that fitted! Not sure there's enough detail to work out what stitch it is - I wasn't even sure if it was knitted or crocheted, but the bobbles looked like knitted ones.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 07/04/2011 15:00

Sorry LadyW - I was just being very dim, and forgot about that picture. I've had a look, and the background looks like K1 P1 rib, and you can either put the bobbles in in a regular pattern like Narketta did, or scatter them randomly, which is what I've done.

Tuesdays hearts and zigzags were Maclover :)

Todays got a bit muddled because the bunny decided to take a liking to a dangly cashmerino end so i hastily stuffed them into a bag out of reach Blush

Three pink, three duck egg, three teal, two sage, one mid blue, one darker blue, one lilac in various knitted textures

One lilac and sage rib (bloody hell how did you do that?!)

One sage with 5 lilac petal motifs

One sage with textured 6 pointed star

One mid blue with lilac flowers

One mid blue with multi-coloured bobbles

One quartered mid and darker blue with hearts

Thanks all! I hope tomorrow at work isn't as manic as today or I'll never get it done!

Oh, and somebody asked if they could buy the beautiful blanket - I have politely declined Wink

Oooh, I've been looking for a pattern with a textured star. Would whoever knitted the sage star be willing to share their pattern with me? Many thanks Smile

Purple - those sound like my squares - did 9 come in a brown envelope?

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 08/04/2011 11:36

The lilac and sage rib is a pattern called loop stripes.

Cast on an odd no of stitches

Row 1 - using Yarn A, K
Row 2 - using Yarn A, K1, P to last st, K1
Row 3 & 4 - using yarn B, K1 #slip 1 with yarn at back of work, K1 rep from # to end.
Row 5 - using yarn B, K
Row 6 - Using yarn B, K1, P to last st, K1
Row 7 - Using yarn A, K2, slip 1 with yarn at back of work #K1, sl1 rep from # to last 2 sts, K2
Row 8 - Using yarn A, K2, #sl 1 with yarn at back, K1 rep from # to last stitch K1

These 8 rows form the pattern - repeat until piece is desired length, ending with row 2, then cast off.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 08/04/2011 12:03

MacLover - I have sent you the textured star pattern - I have it as a chart and I am not sure how to reproduce that here, so I have translated it into words - if I have got it wrong, let me know and I will email you the chart. I think it is right, but I am doing it without my glasses.

purplepidjin · 08/04/2011 12:19

Sorry sdtg they probably did but the bunny was trying to nibble the ends so I had to move fast! Tag yourself if you're a farcebonker :)

Bumperlicioso · 08/04/2011 12:49

Purple I've yet to send mine but will do asap!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 08/04/2011 13:49

I've looked at your FB picture, purple, but I can't see my squares - maybe I am looking in the wrong place?

purplepidjin · 08/04/2011 15:18

That pic is from last week. I've put more on today and will upload pics when I'm not at work

You are an absolute star!

purplepidjin · 08/04/2011 17:43

Naw just have a job where I need to physically present at all times and management who like that I do something useful once the essential jobs get done. As I fit a fair few not-essential-fun-activities in too everyone ends up happy Grin

KurriKurri · 08/04/2011 21:36

Oh I'm glad they got there purple - I'm sending one more tomorrow (lilac and blue combo) - do you want me to put the bit of remaining wool in for sewing? - it's not a huge amount but might be useful. Smile

purplepidjin · 08/04/2011 21:55

Yes please to odds and ends of wool - i'd like to do a border, but only if i've got enough to get round the whole thing!
