Just got this email - on how to request access

Update on Stand With Maya!

This week I finished writing my seventh witness statement in this case, and we assembled the fifth bundle of evidence. My lawyers wrote their fourth opening statement, and I am preparing to be cross-examined for the third time.
I am claiming for compensation for injury to feelings, aggravated damages, lost earnings and future earnings.
The tribunal will be the same panel as before, and the hearing will be online.
If you would like to watch you should email in advance to [email protected]k_ — the email subject should be PUBLIC ACCESS REQUEST - Forstater v CGDE & Ors 2200909/2019 - 21 and 22 March.

This is good work by Ben Cooper. Talking about lots of email exchanges that on the face of it would support MF's case, pointing out that P Mills is unable to comment because she wasn't involved, and BC commenting that it's a shame that CGD didn't put forward as their witness Mr Plant who would have been a relevant witness to aid the tribunal.

chilling19 · 22/03/2023 11:17

So, Maya is in the bid, Maya is given the boot, the bid doesn't go ahead because of this = the losses she has incurred.

Ouch. Mr Plant is noticeable by his absence.

Iamtheredjumper · 22/03/2023 11:18

Ooh the BC pause, love those.

I feel sorry for Ms Mills, she was very agreeable about the salaries and has now been dumped in it over her head

nauticant · 22/03/2023 11:20

But good on P Mills for being unwilling to fill in the gaps on behalf of CGD and sticking properly to those things that are within her knowledge.

Yes, CGD sending a sacrificial lamb . Not a good look.

She was an excellent witness

Litigation strategy conference in CGD, circa January 2023:

A: How shall we play it this time? Play it straight or be weasels?

B: Always weasels. Every time.

Imnotachap · 22/03/2023 11:27

Thanks for all your comments and updates as i can't watch live this time x

CriticalCondition · 22/03/2023 11:32

Loved BC'S elegant throwing of shade on whether there has been a search for and full disclosure of documents on this point. If only Mr Plant were here to confirm.

SpottyBumPony · 22/03/2023 11:36

BC, have you read the judgment?
PM, I scanned it
BC, well we'll make if that what we will

chilling19 · 22/03/2023 11:37

'The line you've been fed' 😂

OP posts:
Ameanstreakamilewide · 22/03/2023 11:38

BC - Is that the line you've been fed? Who told you this?
PM - Mark Plant.

I wonder if she's cursing Mark bloody Plant right about now??

nauticant · 22/03/2023 11:39

BC now showing that lines that P Mills put in her witness statement were provided to her by senior CGD people that are at odds with the findings of the first ET case and emails between those senior people.

Mr Plant = nominative determinism

chilling19 · 22/03/2023 11:40

Ben is, as usual, deceptively ruthless. He goes in softly, then brings out the big gun.

Chrysanthemum5 · 22/03/2023 11:43

Just joined. Who is P Mills? and who is in with her?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 22/03/2023 11:44

She's Patsy Mills and an HR director for CGD. The chap is OD's instructing solicitor.

CriticalCondition · 22/03/2023 11:45

P Mills is current HR person. Not at CGD at the time in question. The person with her is a solicitor.

Chrysanthemum5 · 22/03/2023 11:46

Thanks @Ameanstreakamilewide she seems to be a sacrificial lamb. I wonder where Mark Plant is today? is he watching do you think?

nauticant · 22/03/2023 11:47

https://www.cgdev.org/staff/patsy-mills

I think she's accompanied by a solicitor for CGD. Rather than an emotional support person.

Chrysanthemum5 · 22/03/2023 11:48

Good on her for sticking to what she knows, but isn't it against the tribunal rules for someone to be giving evidence on things others have told them happened rather than things they actually were involved in?

chilling19 · 22/03/2023 11:48

I am surprised that CDG would want to open up its inner workings like this. Did no-one think about this from the start? Was no risk assessment carried out in relation to taking Maya on? Or was the position at the time that discriminating against someone re their GC views was so acceptable that they didn't even consider this scenario from their lofty perch on the 'right side of history'?

It is only now that I am fully appreciating what Maya has achieved in shifting the narrative. Without her fight, we would still be stuck in GC = evil territory. Also Allison.

Both warrior women.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 22/03/2023 11:49

You're welcome, @Chrysanthemum5 and she's very much the sacrificial lamb here.
MP is a weasel.

nauticant · 22/03/2023 11:51

If I recall correctly, Mark Plant distinguished himself in the ET appeal as being the person from the CGD side who tried hardest to give fair evidence.

So others gave more honest evidence but they were the ideological zealots.

TheBiologyStupid · 22/03/2023 11:52

That's my recollection of MP, too nauticant.
