Today was another Parkrun Saturday and like every weekend the achievements by women was demoted by men running in the female category.

We are hoping to change this! In only a few weeks time, we will debut Reality Rules Runners UK at Parkrun. We hope that many hundreds (hopefully thousands) of you will join us to send a clear and strong statement to Parkrun about the huge support there is for fairness and sex-based categories at their events.

All sports events are responsible for putting on fair events. This includes free, volunteer run, community events like Parkrun.

So please tell people about Reality Rules Runners UK, as we are hoping to attract lots more supporters before our debut at Parkrun on 3 October.

Thank you! 🙏

BTW, So I know none of you believe in the concept of intersectionality is a very weird take. Why on earth would you think that?

You - you do know "intersectionality" isn't specific to trans people, yes?

I do. I think it was a thread about ‘the omnicause’ where I saw loads of gender critical feminists criticising / laughing at the the idea of intersectionality. Nobody defended the concept of intersectionality from a gc point of view there, including posters on this thread…. but you’re right I’ve generalised there, so apologies. Great if you are interested in an intersectional lens.

Trans women can't even play grassroots football. (And only a handful were when they were banned, something their friends protested.)

They are banned from the Olympics (having failed to win anything at all while competing). And all major & minor competitions. A few occasionally turning up to run round a park is not a cause worthy of wasting thousands of pounds on.

If you want to support women, then stop spreading the myth that it's being male which determines success.

Women have proved their excellence (and domination over men).at endurance events, and it's not a surprise that it happened in a category where women can train alone.

Women's team sports are way behind this due to decades of unequal coaching, lack of sponsorship and predatory, sadistic male coaches - but that's changing.

Records are being broken in women's cricket every year now they have equal access to coaching and actual salaries. Rachel Heyhoe Flint has trophies and the East Gate named after her at Lord's now, but she wasn't even allowed membership of the MCC until 1999. She fought for what we have now.

If you want to support women's sport, then pay to attend it. Please. We need to make sure the efforts of RHF and other pioneers aren't in vain, and make sure women's sport continues to thrive.

We haven't even scratched the surface of what women are capable of in sport - because men have always argued that we'd never be as good as even the most mediocre man.

I don't know how you can't see that you're sabotaging that progress. Women don't need protecting like delicate house plants, they need celebrating for their strength and prowess. You're making the same argument Bobby Riggs did before he challenged Billie Jean King to the 'Battle Of The Sexes.' Which he lost in three sets.

There is already sex testing in women's sport, and it's set to get more humiliating because of the hyper focus on a minority who never once got a medal at the Olympics.

That is not feminism.

But Bobby Riggs was 55 lol. And hadn’t played competition tennis for years

Didn’t Karsten Braassh, ranked 203 in male tennis beat both Williams sisters back to back when they were top seeds?

the men’s record for 100m is 9.58 seconds, the women’s is 10.49 seconds.

what was your point again…..

It's a have your cake and eat it thing. But for TiFs, it's the right thing to do. The femaleness needs to be acknowledged in certain circumstances for safety. Even by them.

Do you really think trans guys aren't hyper-aware of their risk of sexual assault?

I just explained why my son is very aware.

Patronising trans men and calling them slurs isn't feminism btw. Hope this helps.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 03/10/2026 23:58

So tedious. Trans people are not "banned" from anything, they simply need to compete as the sex they actually are.

Which if sex is not gender, as trans people clearly prove to be true, shouldn't be a big deal at all.

It's only because Genderists have this weird idea that being called a man or a woman somehow says something about your identity rather than just your body, and so to be called the "wrong" one is an existential crisis rather than just a comic and/or embrassing momentary mistake, that we have any of this drama.

They literally do it to themselves, then blame everybody else for not knowing their own personal rules about what type of person "aligns" with each sex.

But intersectional feminism is for females, not men. Even if those men say they really really feel like women.

TPA and Canadanian logic, these are the good ways to think:

Recognition of the importance of sex:

Trump and the Cornell rape case
Men abusing women about their bodies, in trans identifying women

Ignoring the importance of sex:

Single sex spaces
Park Run treating women fairly
Everything else.

It’s so clear when it’s laid out like that, I can’t imagine why people can’t follow their arguments /s

So if your child committed a crime, you’d be happy for them to be put in a male prison, gen pop? If not, why not?

I'm not just "interested". It's been a fundmental part of my Feminist consciousness for nigh on thirty years.

Are you interested in a genuinely Feminst lens?

The Bloke Factor is repeatedly cited when arguing for exclusion of trans women. The phrase "mediocre men" who failed at men's sports ring any bells? There's quite the conspiracy theory about them 'invading' women's sport.

And remember when a 51yo trans woman was cause of the month when she competed at the Paralympics? The anti-trans movement ignored her age and hormone status, arguing she had natural advantage over younger cis women and agitating loudly for her removal. She failed to reach a single final.

Of course transwomen can play football. They can play in mixed sex teams, there's even a whole 'trans' football team!

If you want to support women, then stop spreading the myth that it's being male which determines success.

This is just ridiculous. You want all sports to be mixed sex. That would destroy women's sports in one fell swoop.

You are trying to destroy women's sport. It's okay, though, because the law, and the vast majority of people, see that as the unfair, daft idea that it is.

He made a semi final and knocked out women along the way. Not acceptable.

But they are blokes. Men. And they are perfectly welcome to play in men’s sports.

No man should play in women’s sports, a woman is not a man who has taken hormones.

Look, there are other posters arguing for the genderist position here without doing the utterly tedious and very childish sneering. Maybe give it a rest for once. Try reading the rest of the thread and see how discussion can work?

TIF is not a slur. If you think it is, that's on you.

It's a slur. Well-recognised as such, and designed to be.

People who aren't members of a minority don't get to judge what's a slur. And decent people, when told they're using a word considered a slur, stop using it.

ArabellaScott · 04/10/2026 00:11

Women are allowed to work for women's rights. Some people disagree that women's sports should be for women only. They are free to try to make the case for men in women's sports.

It's great to hear that so many had a successful debut at Reality Rules runners Parkrun today.

Yes, I liked that there seemed to be a few who'd never done it before. And those who didn't register but ran in colours. As someone who struggles to run for a bus, I applaud them all.

It is accurate language. I suppose we could say “ woman with a trans identity” but that’s a but too much typing. How about MAF, male appropriating female? Or non-cis woman?

'More than 100 elite British sportswomen have told the BBC they would be uncomfortable with transgender women competing in female categories in their sport.
But many have expressed fears over sharing their opinion publicly because of concerns they would be seen as discriminatory.
One told the BBC "your career is over" if you speak on the subject, while another said: "You can receive abuse if you support it or don't support it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't."'

I find it fascinating that despite this apparently overwhelming conviction that everyone is the most extreme version of GC there is - but secretly obviously - and that there are so many people desperate to stop trans people registering by gender - that only 246 people could be found willing to actually turn up. Don't you? Do you not think perhaps that this suggests you don't have as much support for this as you think?

For people who do not blieve that "men" and "women" are personality types, there is a need for language that does not require us to adopt what we consider to be the oppressive and sexist idea that a female person who identifies as a "man" is any type of man, nor a male person who identifies as a "woman" any type of woman.

I am sorry that this language offends you, but frankly the Genderist movement set itself up for this when it tried to gain what it wants through manipulation of language rather than honestly making its case.

If you make all langauge that disagrees with you into an offense, you will end up being faced by language you find offensive.
