Reality Rules Parkrun Launch 3 October 2026

Today was another Parkrun Saturday and like every weekend the achievements by women was demoted by men running in the female category.

We are hoping to change this! In only a few weeks time, we will debut Reality Rules Runners UK at Parkrun. We hope that many hundreds (hopefully thousands) of you will join us to send a clear and strong statement to Parkrun about the huge support there is for fairness and sex-based categories at their events.

All sports events are responsible for putting on fair events. This includes free, volunteer run, community events like Parkrun.

So please tell people about Reality Rules Runners UK, as we are hoping to attract lots more supporters before our debut at Parkrun on 3 October.

Parkrun treat women so badly. They really don't care about accurate data or fairness for girls and women.

I'd like to see their stats on how often this if happening, or suspected to be happening, because in all my years of being a parkrunner, Run Director, touring many different events, and being on a number of different parkrun social forums I have only heard of one individual being reported for this so it definitely isn't impacting many people's weekly parkrun results.

But if it only affects a few places, I'm even more baffled at the reluctance to set fair rules.

parkrun scrapped the stats of things like course records and male/female first finishers a while back (although they're still there if you know how to find them)

They publish the results every week.

Also, the majority of people won't actually know or care if their gender position is one place lower than it should rightfully be and given the inaccuracies in some results it might not be 100% anyway.

So why provide this information?

People can also lie about their age should they wish to.

Yes, but the expectation is set that they won't. That is all that is being asked for. An expectation that people will submit accurate information so that information provided to women has the same quality as information provided to men.

If the results are important they should be fair.

It’s frustrating that they are enabling men who claim they are women over women.

I know they probably can’t police it, and there will be some asshole men who deliberately choose the wrong category, but it would be acknowledged that those men are being provocative and unreasonable in cheating, whereas at the moment, Parkrun are implying the women objecting are provocative and unreasonable.

I know transactivists are refusing to comply with what the law expects of them, but while others enable and encourage it, it will never get better for women.

I hope there’s a big turnout and the objectors are successful in their aims.

And yet it seems that having the option to claim that you're female when you're not seems very important to some men.

Sime solution would be categories for Transwomen and Transmen
Give them an opportunity to compeye against each other.

TPA didn't even claim to have a "trans" kid of their own when they first started posting on FWR back in January only to be a relative of two trans kids. They claim to be female but the mad aggressive insulting posting style screams male to me. Perhaps it is Jolyon?

Gender critical people are more than welcome to set up their own community-based runs restricted to those who share your protected beliefs. Stop hassling the immensely popular, perfectly legal, and inclusive Park Run.
