Today was another Parkrun Saturday and like every weekend the achievements by women was demoted by men running in the female category.

We are hoping to change this! In only a few weeks time, we will debut Reality Rules Runners UK at Parkrun. We hope that many hundreds (hopefully thousands) of you will join us to send a clear and strong statement to Parkrun about the huge support there is for fairness and sex-based categories at their events.

All sports events are responsible for putting on fair events. This includes free, volunteer run, community events like Parkrun.

So please tell people about Reality Rules Runners UK, as we are hoping to attract lots more supporters before our debut at Parkrun on 3 October.

Thank you! 🙏

Jesus christ. This is a disgusting thing to write about a child.

TPA wrote it first, do read properly.

tourdefrance · 03/10/2026 22:27

You can add multiple running clubs to your parkrun profile and select which is your primary club. Only this one appears in the results, but you will count as a member for the others.

We're living in an age where - as I predicted last week - the US President is defending the Cornell rapists. As if more than a few hundred cranks thinking 'trans woman might run in park' is a real issue.

Thank you @TransParentlyAnnoyed. This is the thing really isn’t it - it’s so clear that none of the people spending their time on this weird RR campaign actually care about women or children or their safety.

I’m sorry your son has had to deal with the creeps and the transinvestigators, and that things like this campaign make your son less safe, and less comfortable at a community event that was designed to be inclusive. It’s horrible. And I’m sorry one or two posters on here are also saying disgusting things.

You are not shocked? I am, if not shocked, at least somewhat surprised at such a basic misaprehension, what with the kid being such a keen Parkrunner and all.

Yes, such a regular Park Runner apparently, but this is the first time TPA has let us know about it. Normally TPA would jump straight on these things. I can’t believe we’ve had multiple threads about trans people in Park Run and TPA hasn’t given us their extensive experience perspective yet. What a disappointment.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 03/10/2026 22:27

I know. And it was said by the kid's parent as well. I was honestly shocked.

I'm utterly disgusted.

Me too. I would never refer to my child’s body in such crude terms.

Rightsraptor · 03/10/2026 22:28

Does TPA think Park Run is a new event, just started today? It has been a regular event for some time now. And I hope Reality Rules will become a permanent presence at these runs. The comment about the general public avoiding this event because we're all homophobes, racists, Islamophobes - blah blah is just plain weird. And wrong

The general public were out and about in the park at the Park Run event I was at this morning; much as you would expect them to be on a glorious autumn day. And I don't think it's normal or expected at these events to attract a large, cheering group of supporters like you see at marathons. TPA talking out of arse, I suspect.

And Park Run is highly competitive.

Yes, i was surprised TPA used those words. But they did.

So can you again clarify, you’re okay with a little bit of sex discrimination, and women being treated a little bit shitty until all the big stuff has been fixed?

It was @TransParentlyAnnoyed who referred to the child’s body in crude terms. You are very right to be disgusted with them. I think thst shocked and disgusted a lot of posters.

Yes, hence I mirrored it at them. I was shocked. I didn't start it, TPA did. No good parent would talk about their child that way.

murasaki · 03/10/2026 22:32

In fact for me that jumped the shark in believing that there is a child at all. No parent would do that.

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:32

Sorry, can you just explain WHY did you mirrored it if you were so appalled?? I don’t understand.

Exactly. It was shocking in its crudity. It seems to have united both sides of the debate in calling it out though, so theres that…

Rollingpinofdoom · 03/10/2026 22:33

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:32

Sorry, can you just explain WHY did you mirrored it if you were so appalled?? I don’t understand.

why not? Why are you not calling TPA out for the disgusting comment about a child’s body?

murasaki · 03/10/2026 22:34

So my response to TPA has been deleted amd their post which used those words stands. Right.

murasaki · 03/10/2026 22:34

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:32

To get them to see what they'd written. It clearly failed.

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:35

Rollingpinofdoom · 03/10/2026 22:33

I’m just trying to understand why someone would repeat something they found so appalling?

murasaki · 03/10/2026 22:37

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:35

I’m just trying to understand why someone would repeat something they found so appalling?

Responded above. And also to correct the sex, to be fair. And to agree that if it happened, the people looking were out of order.

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:37

murasaki · 03/10/2026 22:34

To get them to see what they'd written. It clearly failed.

I think this would be more believable if you’d actually just mirrored what they said back to them, instead of also adding the purposeful misgendering.

Rollingpinofdoom · 03/10/2026 22:37

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:35

I’m just trying to understand why someone would repeat something they found so appalling?

For the same reason we repeat the rape, assault and death threats made to women just for saying no to men in female spaces. So mate they’ll see what they wrote, realise how bad it looks and do the decent thing and delete it…

murasaki · 03/10/2026 22:37

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:37

I think this would be more believable if you’d actually just mirrored what they said back to them, instead of also adding the purposeful misgendering.

See above.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 03/10/2026 22:39

@Canadanian NIce to see you back. Did you see the screenshot from Parkrun's rules about running with a dog harness? Turns out they really were more concerned about the performance enhancing effect of a dog than a Y chromsome!

Rollingpinofdoom · 03/10/2026 22:39

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:37

I think this would be more believable if you’d actually just mirrored what they said back to them, instead of also adding the purposeful misgendering.

So let me understand, you’re not upset at the first poster who made disgusting comments about a child's body, but at the posters calling it out. Why?

BackToLurk · 03/10/2026 22:39

Canadanian · 03/10/2026 22:35

I’m just trying to understand why someone would repeat something they found so appalling?

People do strange things. For example some people will get angry when someone repeats the crude words a parent uses to refer to their own child, but will express sympathy for the parent who spoke in such extremely crude terms. As I said, strange. I think it’s a form of tribalism.
