The small community of Millport is to have an LGBT+ pride. Thoughts?

Millport is on Cumbrae (don't confuse with Cumbria)- a small island on the West of Scotland coast, population not much over 1,000 with a lot of elderly. It's the only town on the island so most people generally just say Millport. As one of the more Southern islands and its small size it is popular for tourists and cycling.

So they are going to have their first ever pride on Sep 12th. Pride events usually happen in cities so it's unusual for one to take place in a small island with a lot of elderly and Christian residents. Some on social media are complaining the "ideology is being pushed on small island communities" whilst others are saying Ayrshire is a decade behind Glasgow in terms of LGBT acceptance with men or boys being targeted even for discreetly holding hands.

Maybe she's missed the point of what pride is about? It's not an invitation for homophobes like that guy who got shot last year or gender criticals to have a "prove me wrong" debate about how sinful homosexuality is or whatever.

But it is about banning organisations that uphold the rights of gay people to have their own spaces which don't require them to accept that TWAW (or that TMAM). The TRAs are very big on homosexuality being sinful when it prevents them from invading those spaces that belong to lesbians and gay men who don't want them there.

People who are gender critical are rarely homophobic so therefore don’t regard homosexuality as a sin.
Being GC is not an opinion in any way about homosexuality anyway. It’s about being critical of gender…..

Trans ideology however IS homophobic. Its aim being in many instances to trans away the gay.

That's an opinion held by the gender critical community, not the LGBT community.

You can see for yourself. Go to any gay bar in the country wearing LGBAlliance attire and give them a gender critical lecture. Let me know how it goes.

You're not honestly suggesting that every gay person in every gay bar in the country believes that TWAW, that there are no GC gay people, that lesbians should not be allowed to have lesbian only spaces, or that lesbians should be required to date men as they would be transphobic if they didn't, are you?

L, G, B and T people can be gender critical. L G B refers to sexual orientation, and T refers to gender identity.

'Gender critical' means people who are critical of (question) gender, which is to say, stereotypes.

@mintbird yes I know that many gay folk are just as captured by the ideology as heterosexual people are. I’ve seen plenty of evidence of that being true. But in truth no actual lesbian would date a so called trans woman. No gay man would date a so called trans man. Because the actual wouldn’t be there. And they have the wrong body parts for the desired activities!

Just like no straight woman is going to date a trans”man”. No straight guy is going to date a trans”woman”.
Ultimately facts are facts.

Agreed. I’m straight and I wouldn’t date a transman due to sexual orientation and I wouldn’t date a Transwomen due to sexual preference.
