terrifying, dangerous, abusive "advice" on r/transgenderuk

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1vo4oqz/hypothetical_situation/.

Dad wants to prevent his effeminate 15 year old boy from developing an adam's apple or deep voice, so "hypothetically" asks if he could back and forth to France for puberty blockers.

gets loads of "support", told he's a wonderful father, advised to put the lad on diy estrogen instead as it's more appropriate "at that age" (15!).

Surely platforms can't allow this, legally! it's so dangerous. I'm really upset. His poor little lad.

Attempting to refute anything with Erin in the Morning’s writings, a man who secretly wore his wife’s clothes before she divorced him, and someone who habitually lies, is certainly something.

What damage is done to kids by anti trans activism? The damage is done by the parents, gulling kids into thinking they can change sex. See all of the parents complaining that their boys were kicked out of Guides. Did any of them ever reflect and realise that THIS WAS THEIR FAULT for making their kids think they could change sex, when it’s impossible. It’s like flat-earthers complaining that their child failed A level geography. It’s on you as parents for feeding them shite!

A father is not medically qualified to procure cross-sex hormones for his ‘feminine’ son. The fact that in all your ‘you are making them do it” rhetoric you fail to mention this, is extremely revealing.

Duh. The point is the prevention of qualified advice from facebook numpties of all people.

Yeah where? What case? Facebook court?

You do know that instead of being on here all the time trying to get more kids who never develop adult bodies but have paperwork saying they are of the age of consent, you could just go follow a few court cases and see what is actually going on in the place we call 'reality'?

I'm grateful for the update and hope that trans activists will stop preventing less biased studies from taking place on satisfaction levels after transition, so that we can all get the true picture.

It remains my understanding that suicide rates, not psychiatric treatment rates necessarily, are higher in people who have transitioned than in those who desist.

What study on suicide rates?

So no court case then?

Glad we cleared your disinformation up.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 17/08/2026 09:24

Can anyone link to figures that show overall suicide rates for young people in a country before and after puberty blockers begin to be used in that country?

If it's a fact that many trans kids will be driven to suicide if puberty is not blocked, regardless of the existence or not of studies at the individual level, this must surely be reflected in lower suicide rates at the overall population level before and after blockers were introduced.

Anyone?

Very first paragraph contains lies:

Riittakerttu Kaltiala, a Finnish psychiatrist with extensive ties to at least one anti-LGBTQ+ hate group and a history of anti-trans political advocacy.

And it’s all downhill from there.

Which matches his MO. He’s a cross dresser who needs “trans kids” to exist to validate that.

BackToLurk · 17/08/2026 09:25

The father on that thread writes.

At almost-15 she is very feminine but doing nothing

No one, as far as I can see, checks whether this is a child who has any kind of diagnosis of gender dysphoria or has had any prior treatment (including therapy). They don’t, (in general, from memory maybe one did) talk about blood tests or the general health of the child. They just take, at face value, that this ‘feminine’ boy needs hormones - and remember, that wasn’t even what the father was exploring.

Then the supporters of this come here, and again demonstrate no concern for the wider mental and physical health of this child. It’s just a given. “The feminine boy must take female hormones “.

They are truly appalling people. Every one of them.

Chase Strangio admitted in the Supreme Court of the United States that the suicide trope was false.

So you are unable to show exactly what part is false & explain why with supporting evidence? Gotcha.

Since the trans lobby shut down every attempt to do this kind of research you'll find it difficult to find one.

There is certainly a much higher suicide rate amongst trans people than the population in general, and since people who don't transition sit in that latter population, it's a reasonable assumption, in the absence of better data that the trans lobby don't want, that suicide rates rise after transition.

How about you campaign to get the data that proves that to be incorrect?

Are you able to explain why Dr Kaltiata’s history of “anti trans political advocacy” is without relying on Erin in the Morning’s writings?

Or have you just come over from Reddit to open a brand new account here to argue for giving black market medications to kids and think you’re a champion?

No that isn't a fact. There is no data on it.

Could you point out where in his post the father mentions what his child wants?

That he’s not letting his feminine boy be a feminine boy. That he’s not telling his feminine boy that he’s a feminine boy - and that that’s ok.

The minute a father seeks to find medication to ‘treat’ his child rather than accepting him for who he is he is doing harm.

DrudgeJedd · 17/08/2026 09:37

That 'father' also has a recent post about having hook-ups with a transwoman so I'm hoping that the 15yo doesn't exist & he's just a creepy chaser

Chase Strangio admitted in the Supreme Court of the United States that the suicide trope was false.

No that's not what happened.

"During Supreme Court oral arguments in United States v. Skrmetti, ACLU attorney Chase Strangio conceded that existing clinical studies do not track or show a reduction in completed suicides from pediatric gender transition care, explaining that completed suicides in such small study cohorts are statistically rare."

In terms of suicidality for the general population, acknowledged risk factors include societal rejection & mental health problems that trans people disproportionately suffer from so it stands to reason trans people are at an increased risk particularly if they suffer from multiple risk factors that compound like addiction, unemployment, homelessness & familial rejection which they often do.

I doubt you could ever get accurate numbers of suicidality because supportive interventions from family, community & the medical profession may have confounded/mitigated these. But its unnecessary anyway because suicide risk factors dictate the likelihood of increased risk.

And no you can't compare the general population with the trans population because the general population doesn't suffer from the same likelihood of risk factors. This is what's called comparing apples & oranges.

Ultimately you don't need data because established increased risk factors do the work for you.

“Young people, who are still uncertain of their identity, often try on a succession of masks in the hope of finding the one which suits them – the one, in fact, which is not a mask.”

The above is a quote from W.H. Auden.

I spent a certain proportion of my childhood wishing to change gender. In my case it was pushing back against a mother with limited emotional intelligence who I did not respect. Luckily I met female role models who showed me the many ways to be a woman and most fortunately of all I grew up at time where trans ideology wasn't so overpowering and I had the time and space needed to grow out of it/work through my feelings myself.

Unfortunately many well meaning adults / 'trans supporters' put superglue on masks in the mistaken belief they are being supportive.

It's terrifying.
