terrifying, dangerous, abusive "advice" on r/transgenderuk

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1vo4oqz/hypothetical_situation/.

Dad wants to prevent his effeminate 15 year old boy from developing an adam's apple or deep voice, so "hypothetically" asks if he could back and forth to France for puberty blockers.

gets loads of "support", told he's a wonderful father, advised to put the lad on diy estrogen instead as it's more appropriate "at that age" (15!).

Surely platforms can't allow this, legally! it's so dangerous. I'm really upset. His poor little lad.

What a bizarre world trans people live in where the treatment they demand for gender dysphoria blocks the very process that in the majority of children cures the gender dysphoria.

It has absolutely nothing to do with you. His child is trans, and he's trying to help her access care which would pause puberty, giving her time to grow up and decide if she wants to proceed with transition.

I wouldn't condone him doing it without medical supervision, because not every trans kid is suitable. They aren't handed out like Smarties at gender clinics.

Puberty blockers have been used for decades on cis children experiencing precocious puberty - and they're still being given now. It's a proven medication.

Leave the poor family alone, and maybe reflect on the damage done to trans children by anti-trans activism. This dad is trying to save his child's life because she's been denied even the basics of care here. Trans kids don't even get proper counselling despite being in deep distress and suffering horrendous bullying.

There are kids dying all over the world, why not try saving them instead? This one has a parent who loves them. Even if he doesn't succeed, that child has a massively increased chance of making it to adulthood because she knows her dad loves her.

Just to be clear, you advocate for parents to be able to get drugs just to stop a boy from getting a deeper voice?

They don't want them cured.

Confused kids resolving their confusion by recognising they simply are the sex they always have been, their personality is and always was fine for their sex and that's ok just to be who they are is the last thing they want.

They want them locked in to transitioning in ways that make them visibily and irreversibly different to other people of their birth sex so the "fact" of trans people has to be socially and legally accomodated.

Then they can leverage that beachhead to force social and legal acceptance for their own "needs" (which in reality are simply their desires and preferences) despite being basically intact adult men with at most some superficial cosmetic changes.

It is so so cynical.

Ugh grown men on this thread advocating for children to reach adulthood chronologically, and legally, but still have the genitalia, and mind, of a child.

Unfortunately for you, the entire infrastructure you rely on is collapsing, including WPATH. And the world is watching.

And the unregulated industry is growing as a consequence thanks to the anti trans movement.

There is no “regulated” industry as it is all unevidenced.

You don't want the evidence remember? Attempting to block Cass makes that clear.

I'm afraid it's becoming pretty clear that the trans policy is to increase numbers to increase their social leverage.

Then in the US now we have involvement of major medical fraud. That needs a thread of it's own. Children turned into lifelong cash cows for the doctors.

They’re creepy af and make my skin crawl, constantly whinging about the existence of safeguarding 🙄🤮

Ah, I see the "Look what you made me do" brigade are out in force already.

From the same "they'll do it anyway so you might as well legalise it" school of thought that brought you trafficked women in German megabrothels.

I assume they think the UK should also legalise and support FGM because otherwise the poor abusive parents who genuinely believe they are doing the right thing for their girls will be forced to use backstreet or overseas cutters.

Just to be clear, you want to make unqualified 'medical' opinions rigueur du jour?

What next face book 'neuroscience'?

Imdunfer · 17/08/2026 09:02

The problem with the suicide argument, of course, is that the latest Finnish research of long term outcomes shows the suicide rates increasing hugely after medical transition compared with those who did not go ahead with medical transition.

Oh yeah that's exactly the same as asking for doctors supervision…

By this you mean WPATH's admittance that their whole schtick is literally 'opinions'?

Which evidence is lacking exactly, these drugs do exactly what they say on the tin, they block puberty leaving basically underdeveloped bodies and minds with a consentual age on their paperwork?

False.

Fact Check: New Finnish "Study" Does Not Prove "Trans Youth Care Leads To Worse Outcomes"

The latest Kaltiala study is filled with fatal methodological flaws, and does not support claims made about trans youth care lacking efficacy.

sterilising queer kids isn’t the life saving kindness big pharma would have you believe

Medical advice in general is based on professional opinion so this is no different.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 17/08/2026 09:12

Giving a healthy child drugs that will irreversibly damage their natural development under "a doctor's supervision" because their parents have fucked up ideas about how their natural body needs to be "fixed" to be acceptable is indeed morally and in many ways practically no different to performing FGM under "a doctor's supervision" because their parents have fucked up ideas about how their natural body needs to be "fixed" to be acceptable.

Thank you to PP for making that point.

Amd so very illustrative how simply "not accomodating fucked up ideas about how a child's natural body needs to be "fixed" to be acceptable" isn't even on their radar.

Professional opinion backed by EVIDENCE as you mentioned.

When in court in the USA they cannot provide evidence even though they have been giving these off label drugs to kids for 30 years, deliberately not following up BECAUSE they know the evidence does not suport it. Hence having to admit in court they are just making the whole thing up.

Igmum · 17/08/2026 09:13

That is a horrific thread. And it may have been people like our drive by scolders telling lies about children committing suicide that pushed the father to this. We don’t know. What we do know is that there is a whole thread there queuing up to permanently damage this child. That is absolutely sick.

NotBadConsidering · 17/08/2026 09:15

Attempting to refute anything with Erin in the Morning’s writings, a man who secretly wore his wife’s clothes before she divorced him, and someone who habitually lies, is certainly something.

Yeah where? What case? Facebook court?

Imdunfer · 17/08/2026 09:16

I'm grateful for the update and hope that trans activists will stop preventing less biased studies from taking place on satisfaction levels after transition, so that we can all get the true picture.

It remains my understanding that suicide rates, not psychiatric treatment rates necessarily, are higher in people who have transitioned than in those who desist.

Medical advice in general is based on professional opinion so this is no different.

A father is not medically qualified to procure cross-sex hormones for his ‘feminine’ son. The fact that in all your ‘you are making them do it” rhetoric you fail to mention this, is extremely revealing.
