Dad wants to prevent his effeminate 15 year old boy from developing an adam's apple or deep voice, so "hypothetically" asks if he could back and forth to France for puberty blockers.

gets loads of "support", told he's a wonderful father, advised to put the lad on diy estrogen instead as it's more appropriate "at that age" (15!).

Surely platforms can't allow this, legally! it's so dangerous. I'm really upset. His poor little lad.

Utterly shocking and sickening. He should be charged with child abuse and I hope that he is. But in this day and age, the only remaining sane people who know you cannot change gender, are attacked and ostracised for not propagating such lunacy. Labelled 'transphobic' and sometimes lives/reputations ruined by the smear campaign that these people love to organise.

It makes me so angry. Who on Earth would willingly encourage their child into this barbarity. Complete and utter madness.

EmpressaurusKitty · 16/08/2026 21:28

Him. As soon as his son told him he was a girl, the dad bought him a whole new wardrobe, redecorated his bedroom & embraced the whole thing with huge enthusiasm.

If that boy ever changes his mind he’s going to have a hard time rowing back.

Howlerhog · 16/08/2026 21:44

I just cannot comprehend what motivates a dad to abuse his son that badly.

Homophobia. Rampant homophobia.

Internet is crazy. I’m shook.

TheRoseSquid · 16/08/2026 22:03

i got my period at ten and even though I feel like I was too young and would have rather waited til 13 maybe this is just unacceptable at 15 he should be going through it it’s completely normal

Dominoodles · 16/08/2026 22:30

I am so concerned by the concept of 'DIY' hormones that I see being talked about so much online. People suggesting to young people that they should order hormones through scrupulous means, or have adults on the Internet order them on their behalf, or get 'prescriptions' from dodgy online doctors who want your money... and then administer them yourself at home with zero oversight or regular blood checks, no mental healthcare alongside the hormones to check that it's safe and not actively causing harm... and it's being suggested as a good and safe option to vulnerable kids 🫣

TeiTetua · 16/08/2026 22:51

This sounds horrific, but I'm wondering if it's all fictional, someone's fantasy of an adolescent boy being turned into a pseudo-girl. It's "hypothetical" in the sense that such a father and such a son might exist, but they don't. But maybe my sense of what might actually happen in the world is just not insane enough!

RogueFemale · 16/08/2026 23:01

One of the ghouls has linked to this thread. A good thing if even one of them wakes up to the fact that they are enthusiastically promoting abuse of a minor, who is unable to consent to being given harmful drugs. It's revolting to see how they all revel in enabling this abusive father.

It has absolutely nothing to do with you. His child is trans, and he's trying to help her access care which would pause puberty, giving her time to grow up and decide if she wants to proceed with transition.

I wouldn't condone him doing it without medical supervision, because not every trans kid is suitable. They aren't handed out like Smarties at gender clinics.

Puberty blockers have been used for decades on cis children experiencing precocious puberty - and they're still being given now. It's a proven medication.

Leave the poor family alone, and maybe reflect on the damage done to trans children by anti-trans activism. This dad is trying to save his child's life because she's been denied even the basics of care here. Trans kids don't even get proper counselling despite being in deep distress and suffering horrendous bullying.

There are kids dying all over the world, why not try saving them instead? This one has a parent who loves them. Even if he doesn't succeed, that child has a massively increased chance of making it to adulthood because she knows her dad loves her.

Puberty blockers are used on children with precocious puberty in order to help then have puberty at an appropriate time, not to stop them going through puberty. It's entirely different. And even then, they can have awful side effects.

Blockers were originally presented as "time to think" but the overwhelming evidence is that instead of giving a child time to think, they effectively lock them into a medical pathway of blockers, then cross sex hormones. Some also go on to surgery.

This path will not only make many of these young people infertile, it will also make having a functional sex life almost impossible for many, and for some, totally impossible.

Losing all sex drive / desire to have sex is a possibility.

Also, puberty isn't just about genitalia and other sex charactistics, it's also the time when your brain develops from a child to an adult. What affect does pausing that have on a person? This hasn't been researched, beyond some small studies e.g. one which showed brain impatient in sheep, and loads of anecdotal evidence of kids on blockers saying they felt like they had "brain fog".

If the far right were suggesting sterilising gay and bisexual youth, neutering them so they had no sex drive, I hope we would all stand together against something so horrific.

But, can you not see, you are supporting exactly this, but with the magic sprinkle of marketing on top so you think it's ok?

I strongly suggest you go away and read Hannah Barnes' book Time to Think and come back after you've understood what is at stake here.

Myalternate · 16/08/2026 23:27

Does the boy even get a choice. The father describes his son as an effeminate boy. I’m sure a truly loving parent would accept their son as he is.
The father is very clearly homophobic.

dinodart · 16/08/2026 23:43

"Even if he doesn't succeed, that child has a massively increased chance of making it to adulthood because she knows her dad loves her."

This problem only exists now because we have the drugs to do it... The puberty blocking drugs had to be invented first, and then suddenly kids will die if they can't get them. And of course, you have to bring up suicide, because it only makes sense to harm a healthy person's body for a mental problem, if suicide is the alternative.

But yeah, just keep telling gender non-conforming kids they will be killing themselves if they can't get these drugs.

@TransParentlyAnnoyed

We now know that there is a possibility that the dysphoria in teens can resolve, and the person regrets the interventions they experienced as a child. How do parents weigh up the risks that their child might not have gender dysphoria versus intervening with this type of intervention when they are children?

We also know that there is no more risk of suicide for gender-non-conforming teens than for other types of distress at that age. So, from my point of view, the priority is helping them manage the distress rather than permanently changing their bodies, which could cause further issues as adults.

How am I wrong?

I don’t get why men think just because a boy isn’t “manly” that he has to be gay or trans ugh

what's ironic is how conservative of an idea these things are, but they being treated as tip of the spear of being progressive...

Yes, part of trans ideology is to ignore child safeguarding. Thank you for making it clear.

curious79 · 17/08/2026 05:26

He needs to very quickly look up some of the interviews with Dr Az Hakeem, one of the UK only fully medically qualified specialists in this area. Not least of all because his unquestioning support of his child is taking him down a physical route that will be impossible to come back from. Dr H advices when you’re in this situation to encourage the child to introspect more and to ask things like what led you thinking about yourself, that you’re not a boy. But broadly not to unquestioningly support them.

Thatcannotberight · 17/08/2026 07:39

Surely, if there are NO signs of natural puberty at 15 you'd be going to a doctor to ask for tests about delayed puberty, in case there is a medical problem.

DS (14) has suddenly got a voice I can't distinguish from his much older brother, grown several inches taller than his father, and got a moustache. All his friends at school are similar.

DIY hormones sounds incredibly dangerous if you don't know the boy's base levels. Or if there are complications already.

Same thing happening in the US with abortion medication. Laws that prevent regulated access beget unregulated access.

Who is ultimately responsible is the anti trans movement.

Yup. They keep throwing in the ‘suicide’ myth (totally disproven) to make giving their child harmful, permanently damaging drugs for what is usually a temporary condition. THATs what’s abuse.

I really hope these kids sue their parents asses later on in life for the harm they have done, I really do!

It would be much safer if this could be done by a doctor, unfortunately the wire coat hanger solution is the only one left.

transparent "Puberty blockers have been used for decades on cis children experiencing precocious puberty - and they're still being given now. It's a proven medication"

How many times does it need to be pointed out that puberty blockers are STOPPED when the child reaches an appropriate age for puberty (11/12). They aren't on them in their teens as it will damage their health. All bodies need the hormonal surge of puberty to develop bone and brain development.

It would be much safer to not fuck about with the boy's normal puberty with his natural male hormones.

Your vile comparison admits how dangerous what they are planning to do is.
