I keep reading that sex realists, of which I am one, are a cult. Perhaps a genderist could be so kind as to explain what a cult is, and why we qualify. Sometimes one of us calls them a cult too. Who has a better case, hmmm?

Yeah, lots to say here, but can't be bothered and the deletions seem to be utterly random these days. The moderators seem to be working overtime lately (well, it's summer). I'm spending a lot less time on MN, even though I'm off work for the next two weeks. And I'm actively avoiding a lot of threads,which I'm sure would not please the advertisers.

Gently - because it's clear you are hurting on account of your child and I am sorry for that for both them and you - this is a very one-sided and black-and-white view of what we stand for here, that positions us as the villains and your child as the victim.

The reality is different, if you could but look clearly. I think your own hurt is blinding you from seeing what vulnerability and hurt there is on the GC side. Just as your child has suffered hurt and abuse, so too do women - women rape victims, women prisoners and all vulnerable women.

We're not out to be mean to your child. We're out to protect women and children.

You know, anyone casually reading your post might think you had a point. But only because you very carefully avoid stating the fundamental core of your belief system.

Of course, had you actually laid it out clearly what you actually believe

• that people have male or female personalities rather than male or female bodies

• that anything that happens to female people - all the sexism, all the abuse, all the exploitation - must be happening because they think like women rather than because being female actually has physical or social consequences for those of us who are

• that anyone who notices humans do in fact have two sexes and that this fact is significant and worthy of naming must be motivated by irrational hate rather than simply caring out female people

well, that veneer of rationality falls away very very fast!

Pick a lane. If your daughter thinks she's a man fine knock yourself out, call her your son. If your daughter is into women, great she's a lesbian, but she doesn't get to like men and claim to be gay.

I can't say I missed it during my 24 hrs detention, it passes the time during the boring hours at work and before bed. I do like the links to various places and I've been saving all the sites to my fav bar, so I no longer need to come onto MN to keep up with what's going on.
I'm reluctant to leave completely because it feels like I'm giving ground to the alphabetties, they've taken so much over and infected it with there inane ideology, letting them have MN as well seems a steal to far.

Far too much levity and humour amongst sex realists for that.

Cults are always so... earnest.

And now this is supposedly a cult? Well, I've yet to see a cult form around people who don't believe something.

I am waiting for the inevitable swing in the trans messaging in approximately six months to "we always said that men and women were different. We were just asking that people respect trans people's boundaries".

So let us document it here. The trans-rights political movement has said the following: trans women are women as opposed to men, JK Rowling is a monster for saying that males shouldn't be permitted into single sex spaces for women, trans women do not commit crimes against women "cis" men do... what else?

I haven't missed it much lately, there are so many useless threads by people who just want to poke us and run. It will calm down again in September I suppose. I'm sticking to relevant news posts and politics for now. I'll wait until the crazies calm down a bit. I think they're all overreacting right now because the guidance was actually allowed to come into force, and they weren't able to stop it. Probably the first time a lot of them have come up against something legally real.

When I was at school, my friends and I used to have lots of interesting discussions and debates amongst ourselves, we talked about lots of different things and our discussions would sometimes got quite heated when trying to argue our respective viewpoints against each others.

When we were about 12, one of my male friends and I were debating something, although I can't for the life of me remember what the debate was about now.

He was losing and getting increasingly frustrated and illogical. Eventually he sputtered out "Nobody likes you anyway!" which I found absolutely fucking hilarious!

He was literally one of my best friends at the time, and we were sat in a group of our other friends who were watching this discussion unfold with a great deal of amusement.

He had no real argument and instead of doing the logical thing and conceding, he got upset and lashed out.

I forgave him for lashing out, obviously, and he forgave me for laughing in his face, also obviously. He did learn to make better arguments, but "Nobody likes you!" became a bit of an in joke with us all, him included, for a little while. I always thought it was nice that at least he was able to laugh at himself once he'd calmed down again.

So, I'd like to congratulate you for coming here with the argument of a frustrated 12 year old boy who is lashing out 👏Excellent work! 👏

I'm just as impressed with the quality of that closing argument now as I was back when my 12 year old friend popped off at me in frustration back then 😆
