Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Are we a cult?

I keep reading that sex realists, of which I am one, are a cult. Perhaps a genderist could be so kind as to explain what a cult is, and why we qualify. Sometimes one of us calls them a cult too. Who has a better case, hmmm?

I believe rabid pitchfork is a vibrant red shade marketed by farrow and ball.

And marketed by Labour & Wait?

I know the one...

Timeless, functional products for everyday life according to Google....

Just to show I'm not all about the bodily waste, has anyone seen women at say, for instance at a 'Let Women Speak' meeting threatening transpeople with a punch in the face? Or actually punching? Or drowning transpeople out with loud hailers? Or calling their babies fascist?
Or being successful in posting an opposing view on T Reddit?
Or throwing tomato soup on a speaker?
Etc etc

No? Thought not

Edited to add this was for @KindViper .

Pompous dickhead.

Which platforms do you suggest we all go and post on? Where we won’t be immediately banned for questioning your ideology that men can magically “really” be women in some unspecified way that isn’t to do with their bodily reality.

Where we won’t be banned for expressing f how offensive it is for men to even imagine they know what being female is like. For expressing frustration at the sheer appropriation of the act, so have the arrogance to assume you have any idea. That you think you know better than women what being female means.

Where would you like us to post this? If Reddit isn’t where you mean.

Crikey....it's actually quite a lot when we set it all out in writing!

Chickadeeinme · 11/08/2026 19:42

I love the way the TRA's so often disappear when we start having fun.

Magpiecomplex · 11/08/2026 19:42

EmpressDomesticatednottamed · 11/08/2026 18:47

Wouldn't that be a runcible pitchfork?

Thank you, I had always assumed that runcible meant "with holes in", but after looking it up just now, I see that I was quite wrong! Runcible rabid pitchforks all round!

Shortshriftandlethal · 11/08/2026 19:43

Because genderism does not have cogent or reasoned arguments of its own, nor does it actually understand the basis of 'gender critical' arguments, it has adopted and reveresed many of the positions and claims made by the reistance to trans ideology.........and that includes identifying the features of a cult.

A realistic grasp of the binary nature of sex and the reason we have developed sex based protections is not cultish; though belief in a gendered soul and adherence to circular and illogical arguments which are predicated on articles of faith, is.

Well to be fair, that's been my motivation for calling the Alphabetties a cult, along with zombie stormtroopers, reality deniers, science rejecters and so many more.

'Trans' IDing males has been successful, that's the norm now, even MN doesn't delete you for using it nowadays.

Edited

Of course, I have no problem with that. Play them at their own game, why not?

It's a reminder that it's important to be aware of the tactics, and make sure we don't get drawn into using their definitions, and call it out when we see it.

I'm in the fortunate position of not having to watch what I say publicly. Many women are not. I post fairly regularly on public pages on Facebook. I occasionally have comments deleted - nothing abusive, just old-fashioned men aren't women stuff. What I can say is the deletions occur far less frequently than they used to, and more people are much more confident about expressing and supporting a broadly GC position in public.

I'm noticing this too especially on FB. Where the only "owning" getting done is by the sex realists of the TRAs

More and more people are seeing it now and refusing to be silenced

Can we swing our double ended flaming pitchforks? It would look really pretty. I reckon I’d be quite good at it as I learned how to swing poi at school

We're going to need Kazoo's if we do that.

SodThisHeadache · 11/08/2026 20:21

Shedmistress · 11/08/2026 13:47

This is genuinely hilarious.

'We' used to be able to say that sex was binary then virtually every social media organisation banned us, doxxed us, threatened us, reported us etc etc etc, and even on here complained about us and forced all threads into one board...that 'we' then get accused of never leaving because every thread about this gets shoved back here like some sort of twilight zone invisible hand...and then 'we' get accused of never leaving this 'walled garden' and on and on and on.

But feel free to explain what it is we are missing, how does a man turn into a woman?

I got banned from commenting BTL in The Guardian in about 2019, for saying that I didn't think it was fair on women for biological males (I used to use that kind of pandering terminology back then because I knew I had to tread carefully) to compete in swimming against women.

I used to read the Guardian until I copped on that their 'Facts Are Sacred' boast was actually an example of the Grauniad's famous spelling mistakes, and it should read 'Facts Are Scared'

I know your side of this debate seems to have an epipen level of allergy to defining the terms of your invective arguments, but could you please explain what "real feminism" is in this context? I'd hate to think I'd been missing the point entirely for more than half a century.

Isn't the definition of a "real feminist" Nicola Sturgeon?
So... like that then.

I’m a bit disappointed we haven’t narrowed down the cult dress code

that does feel like the most pressing matter arising from this thread

Personally I think we should dress as our favourite Dr Who.
No real reason - I just think it would be fun.
I'm Matt Smith. I totally rock a fez

I know. I'm absolutely heartbroken over this. I've had to go and sob in the corner of the playground, all by myself.

I'm going to have to set an early alarm so I can wring my pillow out tomorrow morning, given my sobs of despair overnight.

Just to be very clear as I'm aware that as well as credulity, an unawareness of sarcasm seems to be a hallmark of the 'men are women if they say they're women!!' crowd, I am being sarcastic in my first sentence

Waitwhat23 · 11/08/2026 20:39

And the ridiculously parasitic nature of gender ideology and it's lack of original ideas seems to have reduced it's proponents into a game of 'no, you're a cult!!'

It would be rather easier to believe that if the very culty behaviour of no debate, no platforming, threats, repeated mantras, insistence of the use of culty phrases and doctrines, doxxing and every attempt at silencing hadn't been carried out by the cult of gender ideology.

So keep on chanting those TWAW mantras! It's very...culty.

Wouldn't that be a runcible pitchfork?

Isn’t a runcible pitchfork one where the tines are perpendicular to the handle?

Where would a rabid pitchfork froth from? They haven’t got any orifices. Or saliva glands.

I might have got a bit sidetracked here…

CassOle · 11/08/2026 20:55

Is the Runcible Rabid Pitchfork a character from a Tim Burton animation? Maybe from Halloween Town?

I just keep getting this in my head whenever I come back to this thread.

With a side helping of:

...and do not exclusively inhabit echo-chambers like this particular sub-forum in the, otherwise rational, MN fora.

Tell me you've never been on AIBU without telling me...nobody in their right mind would call AIBU posters 'rational'! 🤣

Yes, of course you are.

Losing friends because of your 'beliefs' is the tell there. Along with worshipping people who have done terrible things, just because they're also transphobic (Linehan, Rowling, Trump, that guy from the NBA whose ex has a 50-year restraining order against him, Rod Liddle, Hadley Freeman, Kellie-Jay Keen etc).

Normal people do not spend all day obsessing over and inventing weird origin stories for a minority.

By contrast, I have a trans son. (I know, I never mention 😁) I'm horrified by the harassment and violence which he's suffered for being trans. And I chat to other people who are trans or pro-trans.

If someone pro-trans is outed as an abuser, they're dead to me.

And if my son detransed, I'd be fine with it. Unlikely since it didn't happen during the most violent years, but it's nothing to do with me. I support him whatever.

Anti-trans activists have been keen to tell me I 'transed' my son (!!), compare not rejecting him to child abuse, claim he's autistic (nope, though his brother's are and they're not trans) and have all manner of other absolutely insane theories.

They claim he wasn't allowed to be a tomboy, and is gay. When I say he grew up in his brother's cast-offs and I had to reluctantly accept his love for rainbows and glitter, that apparently made him trans too. Also, I created him for fashion purposes despite owning about two changes of clothes. He likes boys so they call him a confused straight girl.

Anything rather than listen to the simple truth: he is trans, gay and gnc.

Anything at all. There must be a theory which explains him.

I have lost zero friends since my son came out. I don't care if he detranses. I have no trans heroes. There is no belief system: I just want the abuse my son suffers to stop. All of my posting is reactive to the hate I see against trans people.

If anti-trans activism was solely about women's facilities (we have no safe spaces, they're just facilities) then what's with attacking everything trans people do? And I mean, everything: non-binary people using their chosen pronouns, the horribly ignorant comments about trans children's bodies, the fake outrage at 'womanface', taking the piss out of individual trans women, objecting to inclusive language...it's everything trans people do.

Here's a good test. Go without slagging off trans people for a week. Stop alternately exciting and hurting yourselves with adrenaline and cortisol at all the trans-under-the-bed stories. See how long you can last without reading about trans people.

Finally, the Queer Milk story. An LGBTQIA+ parent support group, basically a cup of tea & natter. No chestfeeding trans women even reported to have attended. And look how so many of you went full Pizzagate over it. That is cult behaviour.

Might as well face it, you're addicted to hate.
