I'm sure someone will be along in a minute and ask why it has to be a thing in a relationship at all but given the case I’m following through it sort of has to be out there!

People don't have the majority of the sex they have to procreate so I'm unsure why this has even been brought into this thread.

That's a human problem. As I said, my friends on apps have men that match with them, just to send them abusive messages about why they find them unattractive or why my friend's deal breaker is unfair. To be fair, a male friend played me a crazy voice note from a woman recently who felt he took too long to reply.

From what I see, women who actually use apps are more likely to boycott an app because it doesn't include trans people in a way they deem satisfactory. It's all very well having the support of conservative family groups etc like Giggle did, but those people aren't spending money on said apps (well maybe some of the husbands but that's another story) so they can't actually keep the app in business.

No I don't think that all women experience abuse by men at the same rates and they don't all feel the same about it when they do. I, for instance, would find it bizarre and funny for a stranger on app to feel that emotionally moved by my existence. Others might feel threatened.

That doesn't mean any of us have poor boundaries. We are different people, despite all being women.

Bisexual people are well-served by the app because if they tick the (gender) M, W and NB boxes they will see all the (sex) M and W that match. Hetero- and homosexual people are arguably being discriminated against, because they cannot limit their preferences to the sex that defines their orientation.

Haven't read the full thread yet but this is just basic dating app issue you'll find everywhere. You're always gonna be filtering and finding people based on how they describe themselves. Every woman who's ever used a dating app can tell you men constantly don't disclosed that they're divorced, or have kids, are using a very old photo etc, the entire point is wading through many people who don't appeal for you or tick your boxes. Reporting on dating apps should be for those being abusive, sending inappropriate messages etc otherwise everyone would be constantly reporting everyone for just not being their type so I do get why they ban it you keep reporting profiles for something the app has told you isn't a reportable offense, just as MN will ban people for constant reporting for things not against talking guidelines.

Even a dating app has to be careful not to enable discrimination though.

There it is. I think it's perfectly obvious to everybody that you don't accept that no, most people are not bisexual. And some people are quite vehemently heterosexual or homosexual.

Attitudes that really, sexual orientation isn't particularly important, is why it has been necessary to make it a protected characteristic in law.
