I only discovered this after having made two reports, and it’s Sunday, so I suppose I’ll find out tomorrow if they are going to follow through.

I'm sure someone will be along in a minute and ask why it has to be a thing in a relationship at all but given the case I’m following through it sort of has to be out there!

Well that is reality. Many people do believe it and the world has adapted to this belief. Sure you can use your social and political power to try and change things back, but to not acknowledge how things are is bordering on delusional. It's like this because people believe it.

Nah

none of these people are expecting trans identified men to get pregnant

they don’t believe it

I think a sizeable number of the members wouldn't actually care if there were trans women, or fully support their presence. As long as they are also interested in meeting women. I don't think that a site that excluded trans women was a primary motivation for their core membership.

You think a ‘sizeable number’ of women would sign up to an app that markets itself as ‘female-only’ and claims to (and it’s the claim that’s important here) verify users are female, but not actually care whether they are in fact female? When there are other apps available that don’t make the same claims? Are the sizeable number in the room with you now?

Lexibletheflexible · 11/08/2026 08:34

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 11/08/2026 08:31

Oh yeah, they’re being honest

they’re taking their fetish for a walk all over the app and being very honest about that

when someone shows you who they are etc

I think they're just creating a profile like every other user.

Anyone completing the verification would know that all they are doing to verify your sex is looking at your face. I can't think of an adult who wouldn't see the immediate limitation with that tool. Of course if you present feminine enough, you will fool the camera therefore, the population is going to be pretty women and feminine men.

What has pregnancy got to do with it?

Sex lovey, sex

honestly, what do you think ‘man’ and ‘woman’ really mean? How do think babies are made?

Ok but humans are allowed to make dating profiles to find compatible partners.

That is why i said it is site specific.

The people you are seeing and don't want to see are checking the "woman" box, though, aren't they? So that is why they show up when you want to see women. So again, that is because the site have decided to do what their membership are most happy with.

Find a dating site that is more aligned with what you want or create one since you know so much.

The site have decided to do what trans activists are happy with because the activists have made the social and business cost of not doing so extremely high. We have seen the aggressive and violent protests that result when women meet to discuss things affecting female people away from trans women.

I am surprised if you have missed the immense social pressure to include trans people as if they were the opposite sex in all circumstances. Even when this is not the solution that most people prefer.

The site doesn’t know what their membership would prefer. They wouldn’t dare ask them in an anonymous survey because most people are attracted to sex primarily, and I would bet my house that a majority would like a filter by sex option.

But if they did this, it would be vicious attacks and piss protests all the way. So it is easier for them to go along with the pretence and encourage sex by deception.

The site is a business. Like this site is a business. They will do what makes most sense to them as a business depending on their membership. Clients vote with their feet.

I don't see how it has anything to do with the conversation.

It appears that my post pointing out that woman = person with a body that can get pregnant (let’s not do the ‘but what about infertile women?’ thing please, it’s tedious) has been deleted. Heaven knows why

so trying again

woman = person with a body that can get pregnant

everyone knows that

that’s why it’s relevant to this conversation

nutmeg7 · 11/08/2026 08:57

Lexibletheflexible · 11/08/2026 08:24

I think you just have to accept that many people do and that is why the world has adapted in the way it has. If barely anyone believed this, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Blimey, you need some work in deeper thinking, you really do.
I do not know a single person who really believes that a trans woman is no different from a woman. They do it as a polite social kindness, not because they believe someone can change sex. Except for a few really gullible shallow thinkers who don’t understand biology much. Or who confuse superficial plastic surgery with changing sex.

Not if there are no alternative sites that do filter for sex because of the same misguided social pressure.

2026letsgo · 11/08/2026 09:01

@BernardBlacksMolluscs not understanding why you are getting so aggy?

It’s much better to have the fetish/transvestite men in plain sight surely? If they have ticked “man” and “interested in woman” then they are doing it right .
The problem the Op and others talk about are the deceptive ones. More importantly biological men ticking lesbian or looking for straight men.
A trans man can be deceiving too but as biological woman aren’t statistically such a threat, it’s more annoying than worrying.

Unless that business wants to be female only. In which case you’ll be hounded through the courts.

@Lexibletheflexible has already handily explained other reasons why apps really don’t do it. The technology isn’t there to guarantee compliance and many transgender people apparently believe they have literally changed sex and so will tick the sex they think they are (or lie as most people would characterise it). The ‘this is what users want’ is just bollocks.

If trans women were no different from women, they wouldn’t need the huge bunch of protections and special treatment they are after. Like an annual 13 weeks paid leave from civil service for gender reassignment treatments. Oh, and the trans before the word woman.

But not until they’ve had abuse and threats for not accepting the approach of someone they don’t want.
it seems there’s some who think, “well I’m attracted to you=you have to accept me regardless of whether or not you I am to you”
