HW said that we don't have an age for medical consent in th UK and then when talking about Gillick she said a 16 year old would probably be able to consent under Gillick. That's not correct as a 16 year old is legally presumed to have capacity to consent and wouldn't need Gillick

Did she say Gillick? Sorry, can't listen until later. She's out of date if so as I seem to recall it's called Fraser now as Victoria Gillick decided she didn't want her name attached to the case. Could be wrong, though.

It just makes her look ridiculous and childish, as well as that fact that she makes absolutely no sense.

At 14 mins Helen describes cases where drs have over ruled things for the best interests of the child. Gives the example of Jehovah’s witnesses. In a discussion about puberty blockers.

This is a total inverse and a complete twisting of the NORMAL application of “best interests” in medical ethics.

presumably using the suicide myth as leverage.

Then conflates with gillick.

Im going to look forward to the proper dissection of this by multiple people.

I'm bored in advance and I haven't watched it yet. Helen Webberley is such a horrible creepy person. Sanctimonious, patronising, holier-than-thou, up herself, arrogant, bombastic and deeply unpleasant and manipulative in the way that she chooses to treat other people.

I'm glad I watched it at fast speed. Nothing new from either side, but Helen doubled down on persuading people she is a charlatan and did a splendid job of that.

ETA loved that KJK just had a look on her face of "God this woman is thick"
