@EdithStourton - I think it is the Buddhists who say you should put a mistake in everything you make, because only God can produce perfection, and if we try to be perfect, we are trying to imitate God, and that's Not a Good Thing.

Luckily everything I make has at least one mistake in it so I will never be accused of trying to be a Goddess. 😂

Or you could Embrace Brokenness, as in Japanese Kintsugi, and pick out the mistakes in gold thread, Edith.

That's probably the silliest suggestion - but I say that with a certain amount of [misplaced] pride at being the silliest🙃Silly in the Bluey is good😀

Morning all, bore da, maidin maith, etc etc.
I see from the weather forecast that some of you are going to be in heatwave territory again, I'm so sorry, and hope that you get through it OK till things settle down again😞

Myrtle, Why?! I hear you cry. Because they fucking can could be applied to so much modern tech -
.Because they fucking can
and
Because they can make fucking shitloads of money out of it.
summarises a lot of recent technological developments, though it's not usually phrased that way 😏

Interesting that it appies to glass too!

And not only do we learn about glass production, but Pasta tells us now knitting machines do faux-crochet -
Welcome to the University of Peak Woo, Bluestocking Campus.
Where all the professors actually know stuff...😁

I love the thought of kintsugi, but I just know i would end up in a complete mess if I ever tried it. Although the AI version of me was very successful the one time she tried.

Would you really want the gerbils to miss out on being recognised for their talents?

No.

But at the same time I don't want you them to go off and leave us because they are OUR gerbils.

OK OK they aren't OUR gerbils as they are actually employed by Grimbuts T shirt factory and on loan to us, but Gubbins generation was born here, so some are definitely OURS!

Fenella can't have Gubbins!

Save Gubbins!

Morning, everyone! I think the gerbils should have the opportunity to explore their options and grow as individuals, of course, but I am very suspicious of Fenella's motives. Didn't I say that pretty is as pretty does?

She may not have realized her faux pas, but poaching staff is not a good start. This is what companies do when they can't shut down the competition. What is she worried about?

(I am way too invested in Gosie's adventures)

Look what happened to Arachne when she tried to compete with Athena.

AngleofRepose · 10/08/2026 10:20

And, case in point: what do we all do if the sleep gerbils defect? They seem to already have more work than they can handle. (had a terrible night's sleep last night, can't even spell properly this morning)

I think Fenella is an evil, bossy, double- agent- recruiter, but not for the KGB as that stands for....Keep Gerbils Bluestocking.

You may have a point, Fuzzy - she wowed us all with her spectacular appearance but is she someone who uses her looks to get what she wants, whatever the cost??😦

I love the 'wash the mugs' one. Reminds me of every office I've ever worked in (although I always used my own).

I was a volunteer leader at a NT property in my last location and once left a notice asking people to put their mugs in the dishwasher, rather than abandoning them in the sink. They did, but the next week I had to add a line saying 'and switch the !&£#^ thing on at the end of the day!' Grin

Agree! And when did the gerbils start giving us bowls of nuts?

Just after I posted the recipe for spiced nuts. Although some of the flavour 'experiments' have been a little alarming avant garde.

I'd swerve the licorice and peppermint, it's a little alarming.

The wreck is the Plassey, which in 1960 ran aground in a storm so fierce it eventually drove it inland to where it now sits. The islanders heroically saved all the crew before it ran aground.]

Far better it for me to babe and shame the culinary lunatic rebel who decided on that pairing, but I'd look for the gerbil everyone else in the kitchen is refusing to make eye contact with...

The maple and sea salt cashews are extremely nice, as are the cumin and chilli peanuts.

Hey Errol, this website popped up on my screen - they have TWENTY-THREE different designs of bags featuring dragons!

They have cat and dog and sheep ones too, but TWENTY-THREE DRAGON DESIGNS?
😮I'm guessing it's actually owned and run by dragons😄

Dragon – Waves to Wonders
The purple one is magnificent.

A couple of Christmases ago, a friend sent me a wonderful Cats & Dragons calendar.

I wasn’t a Bluey regular then but it was much admired in the Litter Tray.
