Started because a thread on Girlguiding was getting too off topic.

Woman are Women

HGHGHG · Yesterday 13:12

Are you of the entitled to be anything we want generation. aged approx 30? Or just a boring bloke?

When a trans can tell me their first period at 10 experience, their pain of being the first to grow breasts at 9, their monthly cramps and losing school time due to being bedridden, their paying when they can't afford it for pads and pain meds, their trauma surrounding everything hormonal that females have to suffer from the age of 8/9 until 60 years old, then I may possibly accept a small slice that they are real.

Until then, bog off

Gymnopedie · Yesterday 13:12

When a transwoman has XX chromosomes I'll grant that she's a woman. If the chromosomes are XY I won't.

I appreciate the question. I am a trans-fem non-binary person. This means, while I was AMAB, I mostly see myself aligned with femininity. However, I do not see myself within the binary of gender, so that's why I use those pronouns

So for those of us whose first language is English... a bloke

They are biological females due to this study: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8955456/

Also, if you think stripping down what women are to their body parts, that's what feminists fought against for years. Now women can get jobs, start bank accounts, own property, and so many more things. This is a very regressive view of what women are.

No, it's not a regressive view. Whether you're a man or woman is determined by whether you're male or female, which is determined by your body parts, whether big ones like your genitals, or really really tiny ones like the SRY gene. It's all body parts.

The regressive part was saying that people couldn't do certain things because of those body parts. It wasn't the body parts stopping women from getting jobs, owning property etc, it was the patriarchy. Yes, the patriarchy exists because men were stronger and faster, and so better able to subjugate women, but the regressive part was carrying on that power structure into the modern day.

No obviously your biology determines whether or not you can do certain things. I can't grow or feed a baby for instance, I lack the relevant plumbing. But again, thats not regressive, thats just basic science.

Transwomen aren't women, they're men.

I’ll bite. If we aren’t defining women by biology, which you infer is reductive, which stereotypes do you use to define women?

He mentions feeling he’s ‘aligned with femininity’ upthread so it will absolutely definitely be some horrible reductive stereotype like being gentle and liking lacy frills on his ribbons.

Carandache18 · Yesterday 13:12

You've been lied to. Get better at biology.

Feeeeesh · Yesterday 13:13

No.

Never.

DancingNotDrowning · Yesterday 13:13

“Transwomen” are not women. They do not belong in women’s spaces.

The law knows you’re a man
Your doctor knows you’re a man
Your colleagues know you’re a man
Your friends know you’re a man
Your family know you’re a man

Everyone you’ve ever engaged with knows

At best they pretend you’re a woman to make you feel better. At worst they pretend because they’re scared of violence, sanction or abuse.

but they know.

it really is that simple.

justaboymummy · Yesterday 13:13

The things you read on here 🙄just no.

What don’t you understand about basic biology OP?

Growltiger22 · Yesterday 13:13

They are men and statistically more likely to be incarcerated for sex offences.

RaininSummer · Yesterday 13:13

No they are not. You are being very silly and also dismissive of women's rights.

This is surely a more appropriate Shania gif.

Nope. Humans can’t change sex. If trans women don’t feel safe using the gents they need to sort that out with the other men

allthingsinmoderation · Yesterday 13:14

Trans women are male .
Women are female.
Males are never ever women.
Trans women are not women or they wouldn't be trans.
Why does anyone thin some males are women?

DoubleShotEspresso · Yesterday 13:15

user08101988 · Yesterday 12:45

They are called women, much like women who were assigned female at birth are cisgender women. Trans is just an adjective

Incorrect.
Biological men, from birth remain so. Doesn’t matter what they identify as, this will always be the case. If they choose to cross dress , as a transvestite (remember them?) that’s fine. What it will never do, as your above report confirms, is make them a woman. This is an indisputable fact.

Adding “trans” or any other name also fails in this effort.

No hate from me on this, but this type of discussion, now post the SC ruling & much more is nothing short of tedious.

SO that study shows that the brains of the trans women studied were closer (by far) to male brains than to female brains. Did you actually read it?

Quite - there's a lovely graph, and this statement from the conclusion: The follow-up post hoc tests revealed that transgender women were significantly more female than cisgender men (Cohen’s d = 0.64, t(46) = 2.20, p = 0.016), but significantly less female than cisgender women.

(Nevermind the nonsense of our brains being the thing that makes us male or female)

And that’s all lovely for you and your thoughts and beliefs about yourself.

What makes you think that you have the right to force other people to call you a woman? Or “female”. You aren’t.

And you are appropriating what you think it means to be a woman. It is offensive to female women.

You are male. Doesn’t mean you have to be “masculine”.

TerfOnATrain · Yesterday 13:16

If trans women are women how are you defining a woman?

NotMyRealAccount · Yesterday 13:17

That's just silly.

Trans women are particularly entitled men.

This board is primarily for parents of LGBTQ+ children to share personal experiences and advice.
@user08101988 this is not the place for this debate. If you insist on rehashing the same old arguments, have the courtesy to the regulars on this board to ask the mods to move it back to where the discussion originated

What don’t you understand about basic biology OP?

He thinks we are the ones that are (to use an insult of his from a previous thread) 'slow' because we refuse to submit to the man demanding use of women's words and spaces
