Started because a thread on Girlguiding was getting too off topic.

I'm absolutely splitting my sides that a post in which I invited someone to reread an earlier post explaining subsective and privative modifiers got zapped. PSA: You can no longer say "is that all you've got?", apparently.

They are biological females due to this study: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8955456/

Also, if you think stripping down what women are to their body parts, that's what feminists fought against for years. Now women can get jobs, start bank accounts, own property, and so many more things. This is a very regressive view of what women are.

You do know that if you were dead and buried, in a 1000 years, archaeologists would be able to tell that you were a male?

DialSquare · Yesterday 17:59

Has anyone answered if a woman can be a Transwomen yet? I went away for a bit and come back to 190 posts and the thread being moved.

Surely only real women know what they are, I couldn't be a man because I'm not one.

But how do you know you’re not a man? If man and woman are not objective sex categories, the statement is circular: “I’m a woman because I know I’m a woman.” It explains nothing.

You’re a woman because you’re female. A male person’s certainty that he is a woman does not make him female, however sincerely he believes it.

@user08101988 out of interest do you think Ian Huntley is a woman because he says he is? Or do you think he may be pretending to get an easier life inside?

He didn’t get an easier life inside though did he ? He’s dead.

Fucking ridiculous. It was a good post. Continuing education even when schools out....

PuppiesProzacProsecco · Yesterday 18:01

Absolutely the fuck not.

And also please, please, please MNHQ can we have the laughing emoji reaction back so I can pop it on everything OP posts? Because if you didn't laugh at his absolute bullshit, you'd have to cry.

Again, there are a lot of "subsets" of women, white women are a subset of women. Straight women. Old women. Young women. These are not insults.

“Cis” is just fringe gender jargon however, and the entire foundation it’s based on is highly disputed.

SayWhatty · Yesterday 18:02

Nope. The idea of "woman brain" is incredibly sexist. Do better.

BreatheAndFocus · Yesterday 18:02

I have a friend who is a trans woman. Her penis has been surgically removed. She looks more feminine than I do (yes I am female as assigned at birth) but the law now states she has to use the male toilets

Yes, because your friend is male. Toilets are divided by sex. The Women’s toilet is for female people. It’s not for men who look feminine. The TW I know uses Male toilets because they wouldn’t dream of imposing on women.

BreatheAndFocus · Yesterday 18:02

Duplicate - obviously this thread has burnt out MN!

BreatheAndFocus · Yesterday 18:02

Ditto (see above)

Seethlaw · Yesterday 18:03

Sunnibee · Yesterday 17:46

No because trans men are not women.

Preeeeetty sure we are. I mean, last I checked, I'm still biologically female...

I didn't report the post but I don't think that part of it was the reason it got deleted.

It is complicated though. Really complicated. And it's your insistence that it's simple and must be simple and can only be simple that is the problem. Life just doesn't work like that.

Anyways.

Sex is not complicated. Humans are male or female; a trans identity neither creates a third sex nor moves someone between the two.

People’s lives and feelings can be complicated. The sex category needed for single-sex rights is not. Calling that fact “complicated” is how female boundaries become endlessly negotiable.

Take away “white, straight, old and young” and they’ll all still be women. Take away “trans” and they’ll all still be men.

Well it was the most offensive thing in it. The rest was inviting you to look back at my post explaining privative and subsective modifiers. Please do that now, and let us know your response.

If the jabs can help me shift from being a fat-women to being a slim-women. Am I a transwomen? Or am I simply a transfat women?

Sex is extremely complicated as with all aspects of human bodies and biology

there are lots of subsets of cows: porcine cows, canine cows, feline cows

I'm pretty sure it was the bit where you suggested I was a troll.

Boiledbeetle · Yesterday 18:06

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · Yesterday 17:42

It is wrong to assume that every trans-identifying male is dangerous, and nobody should be mocked or harassed. But a sex-based boundary is not an accusation against each individual. Transition does not change male sex, and female users are entitled to privacy and dignity without having to assess which unfamiliar male is harmless. Calling that boundary ‘bigoted’ avoids the conflict of rights.

It is wrong to assume that every trans-identifying male is dangerous

I disagree. From a safeguarding of myself point of view I assume EVERY MALE, trans identifying ones and the rest, is dangerous. That is how I keep myself safe. I would never just assume a male was a safe person to be around. Every male, even the tiny scrawny ones, has the potential, and strength, to kill me in a way women do not.

Happyjoe · Yesterday 18:06

When is this nonsense going to stop?

Feel free to live your life as you see fit but not at the cost of women. Women born women because anything else is entitled shit. That's it, in a nutshell.

Anyway, privative and subsective modifiers. Please read and report back.
