How explain trans ideology to inclusivity trained friend

Hello, I’m trying to explain all the trans stuff to friends without sounding nuts. I’ve explained that it’s not a rebellious youth thing, it’s from blokes in frocks who own some big pharma companies and want big profits, also men in frocks who want their fetishes normalised, also men in frocks who want to perve, also confused young people who are being told their normal curiosity means they must be trans. But I’m doubting how measured I sound, and it sounds a bit mad if you are speaking to a cynical friend that has had inclusivity training.

You should certainly make that known because one of the reasons the Tavistock was closed down was its poor record keeping.

Presumably you plan to share this missing infornation. Had it just been misfiled?

It doesn’t really matter what MY concerns are. You might be interested in some of the concerns / fact checking of academics, medical experts etc though. Which you can google.

The only ‘concerns’ I’ve seen are from activists who have everything to lose from balanced evaluation of what’s been done in the name of ‘gender affirming care’.

Oh, well I can’t train you in research I’m afraid. That might be all you’ve seen, but I promise you medical experts and academics from various fields have criticized the Cass Review's methodology, and the articles and papers are out there!

It’s really, really easy to find. Like it’s SO EASY to find. But I’m not going to spend time collating research for you because I’ve very little evidence you’re going to read it.

I think this interview might be good for your friends. It's kind of light and shows how farcical the whole thing is. I mean this is all comedy gold really.

The other thing that struck me is that there is really are risking something by talking to friends/family/ colleagues etc. I'm not saying you shouldn't do this but I think the talking with strangers thing is great because you don't risk personal relationships in working out how best to have those conversations. I think the general question of 'but what if...' is pretty good. Just wondering at the madness.

I'm sure she's read it. She gave a great summary of it upthread.

I’m aware she’s read the cass report. This was about reading the academics, medical experts etc who have questioned the report’s methodology. She hasn’t summarised any of that and I wouldnt have expected her to - the cass report confirmed your biases and so you use it as if we all agree it’s the end of the conversation (we don’t).

And due to lack of record keeping and follow up, there is still no data on rates of detransition.

She did summarise it. She said:

Which is pretty much what most of us thought when we read the 'academics' and 'medical experts' that tried to discredit the report.

Yep, having been on those threads and read the source material, I'm happy with that as a summary.

If long term follow up information existed it would have been produced when Keira Bell took her case to court.
