Ok, so I know the educated classes hate us and our Dear Leader, but she's really not doing herself any favours here...

Only in your head is she being the nazis. Stalingrad was the turning battle of ww2 and defeating WPATH would be the GC equivalent.

Wouldn't you be happier back on Reddit, it's more your level.

JK & her delusions of grandeur at it again. First the Suffragettes, then Churchill & now Stalingrad.

Hero complex much?

You have to wonder about her motivations here with this overkill, is this really about women's rights? Or an attempt at long lost relevance again?

This is such a wild analogy. The Nazis were on the offence in the Battle of Stalingrad, making her side the Nazis in this analogy, and she chose a battle the attackers lost so soundly after committing so much to that it stopped their advance completely.

Spot on, thank you.

I don’t understand the obsession (of both sides) with Nazis. It’s boring, derivative and intellectually lazy to keep rolling out this trope.

Is it though? Intellectually lazy? With the Overton Window currently sitting far to the right and the echoes of the exact same psycho-social patterns of the 1930s running strongly through many European countries; England especially?

What parallel would you suggest society reaches for the quantify and personify the current attitudes and trends?

No knowledge of history so just googled battle of stalingrad+significance. First result says it was the "pivotal turning point of WW2" and "shattered the myth of Nazi invincibility".
Seems very clear to me what point she was making!

NotBadConsidering · Yesterday 02:15

Jeez some people are stupid, and she brings them out into the open every time. Problem is, they’re too stupid to realise this.

And let's not forget the Nazis systematically destroyed the world's first extensive body of transgender medical research and gender-affirming healthcare.

"In a calculated campaign, Nazi stormtroopers looted and burned the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (Institute for Sexual Science) in Berlin. Directed by pioneering sexologist Magnus Hirschfeld, the institute was a global hub for early transgender care, where doctors provided hormone therapies and performed early gender-affirming surgeries. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
The Nazis carted off and burned tens of thousands of books, patient case histories, and research notes, severely crippling the global scientific understanding of transgender identities for decades. Along with destroying the research, the regime deported transgender individuals to concentration camps, subjecting them to extreme abuse, forced castration, and medical experimentation"

And just think about, JK Rowling like all other GC thought leaders has no expertise in the medical or psychological professions & has positioned herself as authority over them to be "taken down" in a 'war'. Even the much politicised Cass report acknowledged trans people exist.

The self important megalomania is breathtaking .

6 May 1933: Looting of the Institute of Sexology - Holocaust Memorial Day Trust

The institute was initially occupied by The German Student Union, who were a collective of Nazi-supporting youth. Several days later, on 10 May, the entire contents of the library were removed to Berlin’s Bebelplatz Square. That night, along with 20,00...

I re-open my case, present this last lot of waffle as evidence, and rest my case again.

Fucking hell. Nazi waffle waffle Nazi waffle waffle transgender waffle Nazi.

I took her to mean WPATH were the Nazis in this analogy...

Isn't that obvious?

NellieBly · Yesterday 02:22

JadeLeader: "What parallel would you suggest society reaches for the quantify and personify the current attitudes and trends?"

English isn't your subject, is it? This (presumably) AI-created sentence doesn't make any sense. Society does not "reach parallels" and "for the quantify and personify" doesn't mean anything. You're wasting your time and everybody else's coming on here pretending to be clever.

Yes, to normal people. But TRAs aren’t clever enough to see it.

Not if you know anything about the history of the Nazi's & how they 'handled' trans research & trans people.

murasaki · Yesterday 02:24

If we're going to use the tedious Nazi comparison, then what is being done to children re puberty blockers and cross sex hormones could be compared to Mengele's experiments.

So I'd step away from the Nazi analogies if I were you...

For fuck’s sake. Not this crap again. Mengele killed half a million Jews. So, no it couldn’t.

Are you suggesting the Cass report that recommended PB trials is 'Nazified'?

You can't have it both ways.

That's just not how comparisons work though. It's not an allegory with everything standing for someone else.

murasaki · Yesterday 02:30

To clarify, I don't think anyone should be using the Nazis as a comparator at all. Hence my suggestion which was equally as ridiculous as Jade's. Let's just not use them, it's not appropriate.

NellieBly · Yesterday 02:30

Oh dear, Emily in Everton - Keyboard warrior extraordinaire. Let's not forget about the Nazis. Why? (Sorry, that was rhetorical. I don't want to know why you think we need to remember the Nazis.) I don't understand what it is you're trying to say, I'm afraid, because you haven't expressed your own opinion, you've just printed a load of badly written nonsense.
