It's strange, isn't it? They really can't keep her name out of their mouths. Very baffling.

Actually it’s a passionate defence of dbs checks - which you could use. That would cut out a lot of the wrong ‘uns as you call them

What the hell does dbs checks have to do with the price of fish?

We cut out 99% of them by insisting ALL men stay out of women's spaces.

I just think if a man wants to follow you into a public toilet and assault you, a little picture on the door isn’t going to stop him.
and pretending it does gives a false sense of security

Yeah? I agree with you, that "little picture" didn't stop him.

But what that "little picture" DID do was allow security guards and the police to take me seriously when I reported the assault because it was clear HE shouldn't have been there.

If that "little picture" no longer has any meaning how do I report my assault?

SionnachRuadh · 31/03/2026 09:03

shared oppressors

hmm

I am now flashing back to when NOW told its local leaders to shut up about DV during the OJ Simpson trial, because shared oppressors (which was a polite way of saying that, at the time, race trumped sex in the Democratic Party)

Of course a little picture makes no difference - that is a ridiculous argument and doesn’t address my question, and you know it.

My question was nothing to do with the picture on the door, but about the behaviour of men in dresses - both those that you believe to be genuine, and those who we have pointed out to you are there for nefarious reasons.

Given that there is no way for a woman to tell the difference - the bad guys do not conveniently wear signs identifying themselves as bad guys - and there is no way for a woman to get rid of a potentially dangerous man in a dress, because there is no way of knowing if he is the good sort of man in a dress or the bad sort, and if he is (or says he is) the good sort then she will be called a bigot and no one will help her, do you not see that the safest safeguarding option is to keep all the men out?

When have I ever told jkr to shut up? I said I wish she wouldn’t give this so much airtime because it’s l distracting from the safeguarding cause. Unfortunately due to modern technology you’re now never going to agree on what a woman is and what woman’s spaces are. If I were Jkr I would stop trying to win over her haters and instead talk about why we need safeguarding in the first place.
im glad you’re challenging me and you’re allowing me to challenge you respectfully. I don’t strategically agree with her choices but I think what she actually says is reasonable and sensible and being lost to a stupid controversy that’s been going on way too long now

I don't know what you mean by this.

By way of contrast, the Supreme Court was very clear in what it meant.

Well we can now do gender affirming care and identify dsds. Semenya is a good example. Clearly not out to hurt women, has no actual choice and genuinely wouldn’t have known had the technology not improved so much

Ah right.

Damn that scientific progress, eh?

Well it’s definitely made it a lot more complex than it was in the past 😂😂

GreyskySexRealistsky · 31/03/2026 09:14

If only we'd left it all alone, men could have carried on competing against women in sport, beating them and no one would have ever questioned it or known.

Ah, the world was such a better place then...

My issue is not with what jkr says but her beefing with tras online. Please can you stop putting words in my mouth?

Mmmnotsure · 31/03/2026 09:17

Have we had the whole of the TRA/MRA playbook yet?

Trying to keep count, but that pigeon keeps moving.

I’m not a mra. I’m just not about abusing trans people online. Like it’s not a binary and trying to force me into one to be like ‘gotcha’ is not a good look.

Those DBS check where ex criminals of all persuasions can just not put their old names and the new names wont cross reference to old crimes?

Yeah, no.

I’m not uncomfortable. You’re not actually engaging with my main point.
so I will ask you.
how does baiting an aggressive group for 5/6 years online help her cause instead of distract and give them airtime?

Its a bit racist to suggest that black people don't know about periods.

Yeah, no.

I’m sorry but there are some jobs (like drs or plumbers) where a higher proportion of the people doing them will be male and at some point they will need to access women’s spaces. Deal with that issue rather than abusing trans people. You think dbs is ineffective? Make it more enhanced. Do international checks for people who’ve left the country.

Engaging with some violent men and men who campaign to take away women's rights so that Operation Let Them Speak can roll on, IS the cause.

Ok now that’s a stretch.
its not racist to say that the technology that found out about her dsd is pretty new and wouldn’t have historically been available?

Maybe she's engaging with them (or about them) to show them up for what they are?

#letthemspeak is a surprisingly effective tactic

How does that help vawg if it just makes you controversial and puts others off engaging? Like I said go after trump. He has far more reach and influence and people would get behind that more than abusing trans people

Yeah but they’re also doing that to her and using it for publicity. It’s not working in the way she hoped

You say this like you think men working in construction (my own industry) is a surprise.

No idea what you think your point is to be honest.

Telling males to use the spaces designed for them is not abuse.

The Trans Loophole lets anyone use it, there are no safeguards. It's OK if you were not aware of it, its just another thing they kept quiet
