It's strange, isn't it? They really can't keep her name out of their mouths. Very baffling.

No tras who would have defended her. Trans people face male violence just like women do.

There is zero evidence transwomen face any male violence. In fact, transwomen have said they are safe in the mens, the worst they get is a smirk. Two well known transwomen on X have even filmed themselves entering the mens. Nothing. No abuse. Nothing. The fact that even some women cut the womens loo queue and go into the mens confirms this.

Regardless, male on male violence is male on male violence. It doesn't make a male any more or any less susceptible. And women are not human shields for male-on-male violence.

Can you just do one long respisne instead of these mini replies I can’t keep track of?

Sorry but I am replying as I go along the thread. This is usually how threads go on mumsnet. We don't bulk reply. We reply to individual posts as we go progress through the thread.

ScathingAngelAgrona · 31/03/2026 03:21

It is odd how a few people believe they can tell the rest of the population what to think, believe and how to act.

What I am going to do this morning, rather than engage with you, is report every single baseless lie you’ve posted. Trans women don’t face male violence? I’m tone policing feminists? I can’t: people like you are the reason jk has no support. Stop telling me what to do or explaining what I’m doing wrongly. You look ridiculous. You’re embarassing jk and feminists

That’s what you’re doing with trans people! Oh good lord. Paint drying would be a more effective use of my time.

Can't cope with the truth

If she’d gone down the ‘not in our name’ route, said bad men were taking advantage of trans protections, asked them how they would prevent this etc I think she might have gotten a better response. Sports no probably not but but the moderates would have stuck with her

Look. Trans women are in reality no closer to being women than any other man. They may believe they are, but it's just in their heads.

Why should we accept some sort of middle ground where some men are really women some of the time? It's not true. And it demeans and belittles women to pretend it is.

Acceping men as women, or even pretending to as a kindness, is accepting the reductive idea that being a woman is in part down to thinking or feeling a certain way.

But feelings are not the arbitrer of women's reality. And women's lives and spaces are not resources for the benefit of sad men in need of comfort, no matter how genuinely those men may feel they are entitled to them.

Women deserve to be allowed to exist in our own right and on our own terms without being required to adjust ourselves into the shapes men require us to be. I'm very sad you think so little of women that you do not see that.

If she’d provided facts for this I would have coped but she didn’t. Trump is setting a bad example.
i will not cope with being tone policed and called not a feminist by someone who is tone policing and not a feminist. I hope mn report her to the police for hate speech; I honestly do. What you say online has consequences. People read it

We do, the difference between me and you is I’m pragmatic and you’re idealistic. It just depends which you think is more effective at securing women’s rights

Do you see why I think this is just embarassing to be hateful though and not cool? You can’t accuse others of bullying you if you bully others. You can’t play the victim if you’re doing it to others. Why? Becuase people don’t respect hypocrites

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 01:11

Well it’s also group with lived social experiences of male violence, who frequently fear it as much as women do. There are a few bad apples like in every group yes. but I feel by focusing on them jk is isolating a lot of people who would be very sympathetic to her cause.
ill check the book rec thank you! I’m very interested in power and how perceptions are more important than the truth when it comes to influence.

You know who suffers the most violence and indeed murders at the hands of men? Other men.

Plenty of men are vulnerable. Plenty of men fear attacks by other men. Plenty of men find all male spaces intimidating or unpleasant. Plenty of men are no threat to women.

And yet, only one group of men are seen by people like you as having a moral right to the protections that are supposed to be for women.

It's very weird.

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 31/03/2026 08:10

The statistics show that trans people are in fact the least marginalised and the least vulnerable of all protected groups:

Hang on. Really? You want MNHQ to report a poster to the police? For what? Disagreeing with you? Because, as you say yourself, you won't cope with being tone policed and called not a feminist?

Wow!

SionnachRuadh · 31/03/2026 08:11

I see we escalated pretty quickly from "JK should be more strategic and she'd win friends for her positions that I support" to "you big meanies are all getting dobbed in to the rozzers"

Wow!

For calling all trans women predators yes. It’s hate speech. It she said it about a gay person or a black person or anyone else id report it too.
its hate speech this is not hard.

Men who identify as women are just as likely to be a predator as every other man on the planet. In fact the prison stats show they are actually MORE likely to be than your average man.

You may not like that fact but it's not hate speech.

spannasaurus · 31/03/2026 08:17

I'm watching the BBC news at the moment. A report about how non crime hate incidents have been scrapped and the police will no longer be attending or investigating reports.

TRAs can no longer weaponise the police when they don't like what people post online

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:05

I know you won't secure women's rights by giving them away.

You won't secure women's rights by diluting the idea of womanhood to include some men based on feelings.

What you will do is create a world where women's rights are harder and harder to justify, because you've disconnected the social concept of "women" from the underlying experiences and challenges that women's rights exist for.

There are plenty of ways to support and protect people who believe they have trans identities without treating them like they actually are the opposite sex. It is a TRA manipulation to pretend the only possible solution involves taking from men to give to men.

And by God do they want to keep you focused on that, on the question of just where on a line between women and men trans women get to be, instead of you asking the very simple question of why should they be on that line at all when in reality they are just men?
