Are you voting in May?

I don’t live in Scotland so no.

Why?

EvelynBeatrice · 09/03/2026 17:12

We deserve better from our paid representatives.

How many people are on mumsnet?

Look it up. The info is freely available.

Mumsnet threads also feature in search results for Google, etc. and help boost the algorithms for specific names.

SirChenjins · 09/03/2026 17:13

I care

And given the number of people up here who don't want men in female spaces with respect to the prison estates, rape crisis centres, changing rooms, toilets etc, the 'who cares' question can be answered easily with 'the majority of us up here'.

Good for Joanna Cherry - exposing the truth. The SNP don't like that.

WaterThyme · 09/03/2026 17:13

I’ve seen Joanna Cherry speak, she’s very impressive. I wish I could vote for her, but the SNP scunnered that.

I’ll be voting for someone and a party that will stand up for women’s rights. Certainly not the SNP.

EvelynBeatrice · 09/03/2026 17:09

No - but tactical voting for the candidate most likely to keep the SNP out is not uncommon.

I actually think it is uncommon because the vast majority of people aren’t obsessed with keeping people out (well done on failing since 2007 btw), most people vote for who they want in!

So who then? Genuine question.

More than the population of Scotland

Sadly, I don’t think most people do. I think there is no individual or party at this time that most people ‘want in’. There is a sad lack of intelligence, ability , common sense or basic human decency and probity in our aspiring and incumbent representatives.

Many of us are reduced to voting for the least worst option.

That’s a shame you feel that way.

Well its more than the entire Scottish population and several times more than those who can vote in Scotland.
So what's your point? Why does this book cause you so much fear? Also why are you asking about peoples voting intentions?

That’s not relevant to buying the book - I’ve just pre-ordered so thanks!

I am and I do care that Scotland is governed by a bunch of incompetent fuckwits.

The people who can’t vote in Scotland don’t matter. Not sure why you think they do?
