Rupert Lowe & Restore Britain new party

He's been very good about pursuing rape gangs. But I wonder if it's motivated purely by concern for women and girls. I saw on the party website FAQs that 'high level" donors will receive a tie (presumably branded). No apparent thought given to the possibility of a high level female donor.

Farage seems to be fighting a losing battle though. Maybe he should throw in the towel.

It doesn’t really help that he doesn’t actually stand for anything and is purely in it for the grift.

He repeatedly said he didn’t know what should come after Brexit and it wasn’t for him to decide.

I think the upcoming elections will give an indication of where all the parties are, including Labour.

HPFA · 16/02/2026 13:21

Rupert Lowe has said he doesn't want defecting Councillors who don't "have the stomach for what needs to be done" - which will be trying to deport millions of people because they are black or brown.

He is being supported by people like Steve Laws who have said that every non-white person should be removed from the UK.

There have been multiple enquiries into grooming gangs which have found "some" evidence of people being afraid to tackle the perpetrators because of ethnicity but by far the largest problem was the victims being seen as complicit, being "slags" etc..... Which is still pretty much the attitude taken when the perpetrators are white.

Yes that does tend to happen with elections. Well done for spotting that though 👍

Disavowing Steve Laws should not be difficult. Enoch didn't find it difficult to disavow such people back in the day.

I don't believe that Lowe agrees with the full fat Steve Laws programme of deporting Andrew Gold to Israel, but I'd be surprised if whoever is running his X account feels the need to disavow Steve Laws.

As for the grooming gangs issue, I think we've got two bad faith takes:

  • Survivors who've tried to engage with Lowe say he's not interested unless it's Pakistani men who were the perpetrators
  • Labour, who are up to their necks in the coverup, are still trying to say this is a historic scandal that happened 20 years ago in a handful of northern towns, and look over there, some white men have also been convicted of similar offences

I don't believe we will get a proper inquiry under Labour, and if we do get an inquiry under a Reform government, Labour will go into bunker mode and declare that it's a racist witch hunt.

I don't think Labour know how hated they are in places like Rotherham. Maybe Sarah Champion knows, but they shut her down pretty quickly when she tried to speak about it.

Thanks means a lot. I don’t think Labour will be too thumbs up emoji after Wales but we’ll see.

derxa · 16/02/2026 13:46

SionnachRuadh · 15/02/2026 23:46

As far as the inquiry goes, Reform considered crowdfunding one, then dropped the idea because if it isn't a statutory inquiry it can't compel witnesses. Lowe picked up the idea and ran with it. I'm not sure if it's achieved anything other than allowing some survivors to tell their stories, but maybe that's something.

The thing to understand about Lowe is that he's the Zarah Sultana of the right. He's not a team player and is incapable of getting along with anyone. Then, whenever he falls out with someone, he retrospectively sets up a purity test so he can say it was a matter of principle and not just a personality clash.

He's also similar to Sultana in attracting a lot of Extremely Online maniacs. More about them anon.

Lowe isn't really any kind of fascist or ethnonationalist. His own politics is almost the same as Farage's, except (1) he thinks he'd be a better leader than Farage, (2) he's got a particular bee in his bonnet about halal and kosher meat, and (3) Farage has gatekept a lot of people who genuinely are extreme out of Reform, Lowe doesn't think they should be gatekept, and predictably they have gravitated towards Lowe and formed the core of his team.

So Lowe has a choice before him, either he can be true to his own instincts and appeal to the tiny sliver of the electorate who agree with Reform policies but hate Farage; or he can surrender to his audience and be a figurehead for a movement led by idiots like Carl Benjamin, Charlie Downes and Connor Tomlinson. He'll probably do the latter, not realising that Carl and his mates are the people who destroyed Ukip in 2019, which is precisely why they are blackballed from ever joining Reform.

He’s got a bee in his bonnet about non stun slaughter because he’s a farmer. We really don’t like it. I’m not a supporter of his but on that I agree.

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 16/02/2026 14:00

tobee · 16/02/2026 12:52

Ok so how would you define it then? What is the far right? And where does Rupert Lowe fit on the political spectrum in your opinion?

We all have different ideas. It’s not some fixed thing. Not far right to you doesn’t mean not far right to others. I’ve seen enough people say Starmer is far left.

I don’t think the terms right and left mean anything any more, if they ever did.

I see things more through the lens or more or less authoritarianism.

far right means nothing other than “ things I don’t like, but can’t argue against”.

Where does Restore stand on blood sports?

HPFA · 16/02/2026 14:16

And here's Restore's first Councillor who "fully supports" a policy banning people from ethnic minorities sitting in Parliament.

But it's not about racism, it's about secure borders....

CaravanCurtains · 16/02/2026 14:16

To those in the know -

Is their only foreign policy stance the scrapping of foreign aid?

Where do they stand on the NHS?

Do they have any policies actively designed to benefit women?

Thank you

Not because they systematically raped thousands of girls? Because the girls were white? And everyone turned a blind eye because they have brown skin and weren't British?

If you don't believe this happened you are part of the problem.

I didn’t say that it didn’t happen, or that it shouldn’t be pursued. I said the reason he is so keen to pursue it is because they weren’t white.

Where does Restore stand on blood sports?

I’ve googled it and I’m fairly sure he does support them. But that’s irrelevant to me since I don’t support him or blood sports in general.

SionnachRuadh · 16/02/2026 14:20

DurinsBane · 16/02/2026 14:17

That may be the case as far as Lowe's motivation is concerned.

Now tell me what you think about Labour (and Green, and Your Party) politicians appearing on platforms organised by the Socialist Workers Party, often including SWP leaders who have been personally involved in covering up the rape of young women in their organisation.

CaravanCurtains · 16/02/2026 14:24

Reading their policies further I'm interested in their 'No More Hosepipe Bans' policy.

They say "Prioritise the construction of new reservoirs.....Cut red tape and accelerate planning approvals for reservoirs, pipelines, and water transfer schemes to ensure swift delivery." Also, they plan to save water with a "a net negative immigration system"

Given the enormous skills shortage in the construction sector, I wonder how they will deliver their swift construction programme whilst reducing immigration. Surely there will be huge recruitment and training needs if skilled workers cannot be brought in".

Can any Restore supporters can explain this to me please? Thank you.

I've heard he support horseracing and trains racehorses on his land. Do you think he will do something to make horse racing safer for horses as I know hundreds of horses die each year racing...and that his is getting worse.

Also, I've read he shoots his own cows on his land. That can't be right surely?

HappilyFreeNow · 16/02/2026 14:30

He has given a voice to women who as young girls were tortured and rapped in the most babaric way, and then blamed and arrested by the police for being drunk- whilst the police took no action against the perpetrators specifcally because of their ethnicity.

Where on earth did you get the ridiculous idea anyone would be deported for being “black or brown”?

He rents space out to a horse trainer. If you have a very sick cow you need to put it out of its misery. Otherwise you have to pay a vet to do the exact same thing. We do the same thing with our sheep. My shepherdess has a shotgun. What you are not allowed to do is bury dead animals.

I believe it happened. Of course it happened.

It's just honestly having grown up in a society (this one) where conviction rates are really low, where women (including close friends of mine) describe the rape trial as worse than the initial rape, where 15 year old girls who are groomed by their teachers are described as temptresses...

It makes me insanely angry to be told those men only got away with it because they were "brown".

My step mum was raped at 16. Her attacker got all his friends to say they'd stand up in court and say she slept with them too. That was the start of a decades long battle with mental health that she lost.

Show me the white men who are being held to account in appropriate numbers. Show me the police forces where they take rape seriously every time and the victim is supported consistently and feels safe.

I feel gas lit by the narrative that getting away with rape is something society gifts to brown men. It erases the experience of so many people I love and the risks I grew up with.

So do you think he will do anything about the repeated fatalities in horse racing seeing as he is against halal meat/animal cruelty?

Do you think the people being deported will be from India/Pakistan/Africa or from Canada/ Australia?

Why not take a look at what is happening in the USA where non-white people are being asked to produce their papers? Are people with white skin being stopped by ICE?

I don't know why anyone bothers coming on these forums and pretending that parties like Restore aren't racist.

Because they are doing that now, in America. If it's not about colour why are native Americans being detained. If it is happening there, it's not ridiculous to think it could happen here.
