Spotted on the Guardian today:

Raising money for the kimono-clad fox-killer's "Good" Law Project.

Definitely one to avoid!

Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wolf Alice and more to play all-star charity concert for trans rights

Organised by Olly Alexander and the Mighty Hoopla festival to ‘fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion’, Trans Mission will take place at Wembley Arena in March

I suppose if you're a massive Adam Lambert fan, say, you'd pay £12.50 just to see him do his 1/2 songs.

Would you have to grind through the rest of it, though?

You made me listen to Adam Lambert! Sounds like routine pop to me. Not a bad voice.

CriticalCondition · 09/03/2026 18:20

For £12.50 it's almost tempting but the prospect of a giant Jolyon Maugham trying to be down with the kids on a mahoosive screen is the off-putting bit for me tbh. It's bad enough when he's pontificating and the size of a large postage stamp on my phone.

Adam Lambert does have an incredible voice. American Idol used to be a favourite in this house, and although he came second for some reason he's the best performer/singer I've ever seen on there, he could do anything.

can anyone be arsed to check individual sm accounts to see if the advertised special guests are doing any promo (eg Shone Faye, Juno Dawson et al)?

Yes, upthread I took a look at all the biggest performers, who could actually drive ticket sales - not a single one was publicising it on their Instagram. Then I took a (brief) look at a couple of the biggest ones on Twitter/X (Wolf Alice and Adam Lambert), where are currently active - not a peep.

I wonder if this was s to do with their management. They may have contracts that release them to do personal appearances for causes that they believe in but they have to happen outside of their contracted promo work/ gigs?

😆

will he wear a crisp collared shirt with a rolled up sleeve, do you think?

and will Shone Faye spend the whole evening backstage trying to avoid eye contact with Jolly after the cringe ‘slide into your DMs’ incident?

Adam Lambert has been on Instagram, Youtube, Bluesky and Facebook bigging up the Wembley event.

Not recently. I can't see where he has posted anything about it on Instagram. He's not even on on Bluesky. Facebook doesn't show him saying anything about it. Can't see anything on YouTube either. Do you mean that adverts for it have been showing up? Because he hasn't been posting about it, afaics.

Pink news is probably your best bet isn't it? Theyve got a report on Olly Alexander the Barnaby made real speaking to the independent

Maybe they just forgot?

Given that their management almost certainly run their SM - that's standard contract stuff - it's is quite the conundrum that a sector so long so full-bore behind all things QT is being so coy about their turns appearing at this bunfight.

Availability of tickets.

Well there's still standing tix available (never a good sign).

A couple of those blocks are misleading as there's only a couple of tix available for resale in them. I suspect other blocks are not being sold at all (it's unlikely corner seats have sold out before some of the other blocks)

However there's also blocks which are maybe half sold.

Looks like there's probably a load of corporate seating that's been sold from the look of the plan.

At most the venue is about 50% capacity.

Only tickets available now are the "ambulatory" or else it's goes straight to VIP tickets package.

Now starting at £117

Now I look at the dates of the reels, they are all mid December.

I can see tickets available in N9, N11, S7, S9 and S11. And some resales dotted about.

ArabellaSaurus · 10/03/2026 06:46

Yep, most of the blocks are about half sold, I think. Which is still a decent audience. If they'd gone for a smaller venue it would have been a perfectly respectable gig. Wembley was a bit daft.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/03/2026 07:22

It’s the “Live Aid” delusion, innit.

ArabellaSaurus · 10/03/2026 07:29

I guess for.people who think it's possible to change sex, a Wembley-sized delusion is positively modest.

TWETMIRF · 10/03/2026 08:38

Surprised they didn't go for Knebworth

Knebworth is outside London.

Hubris. Entitlement.

I bet JM will spend the rest of his life telling people that he did a show at Wembley (and leave them to imagine Stadium rather than Arena).

It’s the “Live Aid” delusion, innit.

Live Aid was held in the old Wembley Stadium (capacity 72,000) not Wembley Arena (capacity 12,500).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/03/2026 09:40

Fair point but I think the name still suggests that level of concert.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/03/2026 09:41

Tbh I didn’t know and many other people won’t make that distinction.

Absolutely - I wouldnt have known the difference! I guess thats a good way to say you've 'sold out wembley', and give the impression of a vast enormous show.

Lovelyview · 10/03/2026 09:43

I wonder if it will be possible to find out how much it has raised (clue: it will be a minus amount of money). Presumably as a private company the Good Law Project won't have to release any figures. All that money they raised to take the government to court will instead be offsetting a music event.
