Spotted on the Guardian today:

Raising money for the kimono-clad fox-killer's "Good" Law Project.

Definitely one to avoid!

Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wolf Alice and more to play all-star charity concert for trans rights

Organised by Olly Alexander and the Mighty Hoopla festival to ‘fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion’, Trans Mission will take place at Wembley Arena in March

Alternatively she is doing it because the LGB community is the largest part of her fan base and if she doesn't do it, it wouldn't take much to cancel her. (as proved by other celebrities etc.)

Define the 'community' - are you talking about a highly diverse group of people who all have homosexuality as their one thing in common? Or a highly diverse group of people who have obedience to trans activist beliefs as their one thing in common?

Many of us from the first group are not part of the second group. The second group however likes to pretend they are also the first group cos it sounds good and influences people. But many homosexual people emphatically do not support transactivism for obvious reasons, not least that it is profoundly homophobic and actively seeks to harm and destroy groups of homosexual people who - are not open to straight sex to placate male egos. (Homosexual in other words.)

I'm sure at some point some edgy soul will shout 'fuck JKR!" and they'll all cheer.

I feel a game of Transactivism bingo coming on.

I don’t know, I’ve been to one of her gigs and it was mainly middle aged heterosexual couples and a few gay men.

Ollie Alexander loves himself so much I suspect he wanks over a picture of himself. Bet he'd never consider a TIF partner

Wolf Alice really love themselves very much, too. Big egos ahoy.

That is the big question.

I know many older LGB people that dislike the TRAs (not the old type transexuals)
And the younger LGB people have mostly bought in to the TRAs misinformation.
IMO there should be no connect between the two groups for the many reasons given on previous threads.

I wonder how ticket sales are going?

I've had a look. It's impossible to tell about the unreserved standing area, but the seats are only sold in the first couple of balcony rows or so.

You can see here. Click on Get Tickets, then it takes you to a map of what's been sold. Zoom in, and you can see the actual seats available.

ETA: The first four blocks back from the stage on each side, which are showing grey (ie unavailable), were never available. It's not that they've sold.

£50 is very cheap.
To put that in context, one hit wonder Mika* the month before is nearly sold out and only tix left are going for £102.

*Not a diss 'Grace Kelly' is an absolute banger.

I was laughing hard at all the Redditors/BlueSkyers who were worried they wouldn't manage to get tickets when they went on sale today before they sold out 😆

It's not Glasto, luvs! More like a Tranvesty.

So it's not exactly 'book early to avoid disappointment' then.

More like 'book early and ensure disappointment' 😄

The lack of sales will be the fault of TERFs.

LarryIsMyRomanEmpire · 03/12/2025 10:33

Just JKR, everything is her fault.

Lalgarh · 03/12/2025 10:34

Popbitch mentions ticket /seat filling agencies who hold onto a stash of tickets for performers then sell the tickets off cheap to try and get bums on seats. Be interesting to know if they're getting involved here. It might be that tickets from that back row get released nearer the time at a cheaper price

We had a whole thread a while ago listing all the things that are clearly JKR's fault, and evidence of her evilness.

Like, I forgot to buy something that was on my shopping list yesterday. I'd never do that myself, ever, so the only logical conclusion is that it was entirely JKR's fault. Typical.

😄

No doubt she will also be responsible for the mysterious outbreaks of covid/clash of schedules/general incapacitation that will cause many of the "headliners" to sadly have to pull out, rather than face an almost-empty auditorium. All JKR's fault 😡

Slothtoes · 03/12/2025 15:47

Sugababes featured on a recent BBC documentary all about late 80s- 00s girl bands. you can see it on IPlayer. Worth a watch. And in which the consensus from the women who had been in those bands was that they got treated very badly at a young age by a music industry and by the media that was misogynistic as fuck.

Baffled as to how anyone who has been through that particular kind of hell, could then pop up to play a benefit gig themed on some people not wanting to admit that sex is real.

ArabellaSaurus · 03/12/2025 15:55

My understanding is that the Sugababes have a kind of revolving door policy - the band members change fairly frequently, but retain the name.

Lalgarh · 03/12/2025 16:03

It's a ship of Theseus/ Triggers broom type situation

Mizztikle · 03/12/2025 16:07

I don't think most of these acts care about TRANS rights they're just afraid of the backlash if they refuse the invitation, aside from the act they probably pay well.

I'd love to know how much they're getting paid for this

But joking aside, what an absolute embarrassment of a display. Like an en masse hyperbolic toddler tantrum because women have rights, but with music. Calling a man a man isn't "exclusion and hate" ffs.

Edited

Exactly right, a giant tantrum. Men really cannot accept the word no.

Yes. Funnily enough, as a terf, I don't need no man, got my kicks for free
