HW getting cancelled by the trans community

Greyskybluesky · 27/11/2025 16:31

HW has posted on r/transgenderuk.
This past few weeks I’ve been in studios from Liverpool, to London, to Washington DC, using my voice to stand up for the trans community. What a whirlwind trip!

But the TRAs are NOT happy.

Helen, please. We know you probably mean well, but you DO NOT have the rhetorical or tactical skill to do this. You're damaging the cause you claim to be championing.

You have thoroughly embarrassed us with your performance.
It has been excruciating to listen to.

What the fuck, this is horrific. You've just gone and fed the fascist media machine the exact meat it was craving and it is running with it all the way to Timbuktu.

I'm not sure this has gone the way she hoped.

Am I a toxic transphobe? Should I haz mat my self up?

I'm loving one of the replies to that

"I read that's what happened with the women who brought the FWS case, they met on Mumsnet, became friends and, as weird middle-aged women with no hobbies do, bonded over taking the Scottish Government to court. Wish they'd took up knitting or jetskiing or something instead."

I'm trying to imagine Susan, Trina and Marion jet skiing!

Would it blow their little minds entirely to find out that many of us can knit and do something else at the same time?

Pollqueen · 27/11/2025 20:56

Who is HW? Is she the mad dr/not a dr with the huge pile of laundry, mainly consisting of ra ra skirts?

peanutbuttertoasty · 27/11/2025 20:58

Eats itself. Delicious.

Is that reply perhaps bit tongue in cheek? It reads to me as though it might be.

BettyBooper · 27/11/2025 19:41

Absolutely!

HW used their own arguments and it's gone down like a bucket of sick.

And they're mad at her about it?!

Not enough irony points for that.

Definitely! This is the first time that they are hearing their arguments being put to the other side. The problem with 'no debate' is that the arguments are never put to the test.....and now that they are it's as plain as day that the arguments are absolutely infantile. They are pretty much you should believe what we say because we say so and it's not kind to have a different view 😂😂

deadpan · 27/11/2025 21:50

I thought that would happen when I watched one of the interviews and she said you couldn't identify as a lion. And here I was thinking that furries were part of the pack.

I think they're serious. They have this strange fantasy about terfs having nothing better to do and no mates either. Most middle-aged women are busier than a one-legged man in an arse kicking competition. Juggling kids, elderly parents, grandchildren on top of careers and fucking hot flushes. They really can't see us, they have no fucking idea what being a woman entails.

100% this. It’s partly because all of these campaigns are run by middle-aged women that they’ve been successful. They get shit done and just get on with things without a song and dance, which is why TRAs have been so taken unawares by things like the SC ruling.

Doesn’t Trina from FWS run a farm? A job famous for being 9-5 with plenty of time for hobbies…

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 27/11/2025 23:04

And do the TRAs think their protests, piss ins, vandalism etc are benefiting their cause?

RachelFanshawe · 27/11/2025 17:33

The funniest one was when Peter Tatchell took Fred Wallace along to a debate and Peter spent the whole time trying to stop him drinking and talking about getting fucked in S&M clubs 🤣

The one with Helen Joyce and Fred in fishnet tights? That really was quite something. It apparently included indecent exposure, but I watched it on a very small screen and thankfully missed that

SassyPearlEagle · 27/11/2025 23:34

Ah bless her, she's trying so hard to woo them but they turn on her.

Leopards and faces...

That’s the one. That fat hideous lump made me quite nauseous. As @glinner might say - a video you could smell 🤢

NeverOneBiscuit · 27/11/2025 23:38

HW is so arrogant and deluded (& fame hungry) that she doesn’t understand (or care) why no debate was the TRAs best option.

No amount of media training is going to turn her tsunami of fantasy and nonsense into cogent, convincing arguments.

The TRAs much preferred the Shut the fuck up women! approach to HW waving her hands around, making an arse of herself and doing a head tilt BeKind.

Never was Operation Let Them Speak more successful.

If it helps, those of us who foolishly viewed on larger screens can, er, attest that it was a bulge of inner thigh fat, though no less disconcerting for that. Still, the debâcle spawned the "No more drink!" meme as Tatchell tried to wrest the booze from him so a few extra lulz there.

Seriestwo · 28/11/2025 00:44

She really thought she was going to be Carrie aloft as a hero. Instead she got “shut up, cis”

I might die of laughing

ExtraordinaryMachine1 · 28/11/2025 06:53

Golly, that reddit thread is really interesting! My favourite comment was something along the lines of "cis people shouldn't be speaking for trans people" but I couldn't find the comment when I looked again. So near, and yet so far.

I assumed Reddit would be very pleased with her, because she was espousing all their usual arguments. But on reflection, I wonder if I thought that because I'm viewing it as - horror of horrors - a midde-aged mum. Of the parents I know who have followed/led their kids into the rabbit hole, I think they'd be reassured to hear a medical doctor - letters after her name and everything - reissue the same lines. See, it must all be true, a doctor said so! I would imagine that a very large part of being a GP involves reassuring anxious mums. Certainly in the Andrew Gold interview (not sure I can face any more of her bilge), it seemed like that was the look she was going for - trust me, I'm a doctor. Which doesn't wash with Reddit, because (by and large) they're not the right demographic to be persuaded by that.

Anyway, fascinating stuff - thanks for highlighting it OP.

I'm not sure this has gone the way she hoped.

The only measure of success she will be bothered by is income via GenderGP

I wonder what she actually does with all her dubious dough?

She seems to have the exact same lifestyle she had as a GP married to a semi retired gastroenterologist, standard family home in Wales (for a professional couple of their generation), modest Spanish bolt hole, a few kids (4?), but all middle class enough and old enough to be earning their own way in the world, no conspicuous consumption (no fancy car or clothes, deffo no spending on luxury tweakments or any other pampering).

is it all going on legal fee debt, do you think? Or maybe one of her children is being threatened with digit amputation due to a tits up billion dollar drug cartel debacle?

There is very little that would motivate me into making such a dick of myself online (or such a professional dick of myself IRL!) but maybe FaceTime calls featuring my child’s fingers and a bolt cutter would do it?

Chersfrozenface · 28/11/2025 09:25

I dunno, ra-ra skirts aren't cheap.

Greyskybluesky · 28/11/2025 09:29

I'm not getting the ra-ra skirt reference?

There's a video somewhere of HW speaking to camera as she takes her washing off a clothes horse. So many ra ra skirts!

Greyskybluesky · 28/11/2025 09:34

I used to be partial to one myself back in the day

Funnily enough a lot of the TRA successes of the last 20-30 years were also due to the labours of middle aged women, eg Susie Green, Ruth Hunt, Nancy Kelley, Theresa May, Julie Hesmondhalgh, James Morton, Stephen Whittle et al.

Not that those successes were sustainable, of course, what with being built on foundations fashioned out of the fantasies and fetishes of middle aged males.
