I cannot believe we are back to square one, with NHS England backing an experimental trial of puberty blockers on healthy, vulnerable children, ignoring the damage already done.

The No1 rule of medicine is "do no harm".
This is activist ideology masquerading as research.

I'm urging MPs of all parties to sign this letter from me and Shadow Health Secretary Stuart Andrew for Daventry, calling for Wes Streeting to step in and stop this trial before more damage is done to children who are too young to understand what they are doing to themselves.

Because there’s nothing to see here. Parents are supposed to look the other way, believe the tiny number of true unicorns narrative and applaud the school to clinic pipeline.

It’s v inconvenient that the sheer numbers of children sucked in has made it impossible to ignore.

v bad form for parents to object to loss of parental authority and point out the vast numbers in their kids’ friend group make the tiny numbers narrative a big fat lie. Worse still to point out the MASSIVE drawbacks for children’s mental and physical health of a trial like this.

The other thing is, this focus that these numbers couldn’t possibly be correct is also a version of ‘those children must not be transgender when they say they are’.

Meaning - apparently children declaring they are transgender cannot possibly be transgender!

Consistent, and willing to put in the effort to become informed on the subject instead of presuming she already knows the issues and thinking herself to be a kind, modern, liberal minded, good person on the right side of history fighting the good fight for the oppressed few.

It's the dichotomy between 'it's great/fine/normal to be trans' and insistence at the same time 'there's hardly any' which is always used to mean 'stop looking and asking difficult questions while adults do things to those kids!'.

In the same way as women wanting single sex spaces are given a whole deluge of guff about 'there's hardly any' and 'no man would WANT to do this' and 'you're in more danger from x and y' and 'no true trans' and so on and so on and so on.

It just means drop your boundaries. Stop asking questions. Stop thinking.

Just accept mindlessly and parrot the happy happy joy joy lies.

No. Fuck off with that. Children need safeguarding, and adults who find that inconvenient are showing you exactly why they need it, and why these boundaries need to be the norm and bloody difficult to get around.
