No child is born in the wrong body - Kemi Badenoch. Letter to Wes Streeting

Saw this being shared on facebook. Quote:

No child is born in the wrong body.

I cannot believe we are back to square one, with NHS England backing an experimental trial of puberty blockers on healthy, vulnerable children, ignoring the damage already done.

The No1 rule of medicine is "do no harm".
This is activist ideology masquerading as research.

I'm urging MPs of all parties to sign this letter from me and Shadow Health Secretary Stuart Andrew for Daventry, calling for Wes Streeting to step in and stop this trial before more damage is done to children who are too young to understand what they are doing to themselves.

Schools reporting 60% per class as identifying as trans or non-binary is proof of a social contagion. We don't need a 'study' to acknowledge common sense!

Based on the latest census, even the largest schools in the UK will have a (low) single digits number of children who are currently identifying as trans or will go on to identify as trans in adulthood.

I'm going to firmly suggest a claim of double digits per class is quite fantastical.

Might want to think twice about the board you're posting on, if the condition of women being listened to is they don't swear.

Also, this entire website's strap line was the one with all the swearing.

And seriously, I can't tell you the number of people who will find something, anything, to object to in helle's posts, in order that they can ignore what she's saying.

and edited to add if you think this is cajoling, I don't know what to tell you!

Edited

Remember though Datun, parents can be told 'I'd channel my energies to getting upset about things you can control..' on a thread about significant medical studies that involve children.

This poster has shown numerous cues of controlling behaviour and feels they can continue to post showing their prejudices about the others posting on the thread, yet seems to be feeling righteous about it.

I think some people will do anything to avoid engaging in any useful way in these discussions.

Of course. As I said, people will find any reason. It's quite remarkable.

Swearing is a common one.

This is Mumsnet, the one with all the swearing.

I can't tell you how many people come on the feminist board to tell feminists they will be forever on the naughty step unless they do as they are told.

That would be strange as 13 is relatively late to start puberty for a girl. If she received from six years what I know of this is doctors would stretch it to 8 and then let puberty start. 8 is still very early but pb for precocious puberty is max 2 years because of the risk of osteoperosis.

It is quite astounding to meet someone who knows someone who contradicts all guidelines for puberty development manegement, in a discussion on using these drugs to treat the 'illness' of normal pubert

It would appear to be the nature of social contagion.

And once this ideology was prevented from being taught in schools, the Tavistock closed down, Mermaids discredited and everything started to be debunked, the contagion lessened.

But Here you go

How tall would a child have to be at 6 to necessitate putting her on puberty blockers for 7 years? 😵‍💫

Are you sure you don't mean ethinyloestradiol? (It is a synthetic oestrogen used to suppress growth in very tall girls). I can't find anything about using puberty blockers temporarily to reduce height growth.

If I were you, I would just not attempt to change things you can't control.

You do know that you cannot delete posts don't you? If a post offends MN guidelines you should report it.

That would be ethinylestradiol, which is given to girls to close the growthplates so they don't grow too tall. Not pb that don't have this effect on growthplates.

I can see the idea that given pb to delay puberty so a girl doesn't reach their height much earlier than their peers, but not to stop growth all together. It just delays the growthspurt.

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 26/11/2025 12:33

The drug given in the US for girls who were thought to have a potential for growing too tall was an estrogen type, not puberty blockers. Long term negative side effects have been reported, and this practice has generally been halted as a result:

Are you aware that you come across as so condescending in many of your posts that it makes a bit of swearing very much a minor infringement of social niceties by comparison?

No one is screaming at you! Good Lord.

And I can assure you they're not cajoling you. This isn't what cajoling looks like.

They are refuting your arguments, and getting irritated with your response that we shouldn't be worried about it.

An entire generation of children has been severely damaged by this ideology.

There are literally dozens of women on this site who have children who think they are the opposite sex due to being indoctrinated at school. We have two entire boards dedicated to it.

The women here have donated thousands and thousands of pounds to get this ideology out of schools and out of their children's lives.

And you come on and think they shouldn't bloody swear about it, and tell them not to worry because they can't do anything about it.

Sex Matters met on Mumsnet. For Women Scotland met on Mumsnet. Safe schools Alliance, met on Mumsnet.

Don't tell the women here not to expend their bloody energies on safeguarding their own children.

And then get annoyed when they say fuck.

I live in the Netherlands. We are the tallest people in the world. If there is one thing I have experience on, it is hormonal treatment for height issues. Both ways, how to stop and how to increase.

Your story doesn't ring true, especially using it to argue for giving this treatment to children who are not at risk of becoming 'too tall' so have no justification for being given pb.

Unfortunately it did happen, but it wasn’t PBs, it was estrogen. Still a dreadful practice, with negative long-term side-effects for a “problem” that was entirely cosmetic (see my post above…).

Pretty certain this person has been in the news recently. The story sounds very familiar.

But yes, if it's not puberty blockers then it's completely irrelevant to a puberty blocker trial.
